Discover the planet's amazing animals with specially commissioned LEGO(R) models and maps. Which animal gobbles up 4,000 clams in one meal? Where can you find a snail as big as a baseball? The LEGO Ideas: Animal Atlas has answers to these questions and a whole lot more. The book is packed with fascinating facts, images, and building ideas for more than 110 models of the world's most awesome animals.
A detailed LEGO map, dotted with charming micro-build creatures, introduces each of the continents. The maps are followed by colorful spreads featuring up to seven LEGO animals in their habitats. From a cute koala in the Australian outback to a mighty lion prowling the African savanna, this book showcases many of the world's favorite animals--plus some unusual sights, such as the bizarre blue-footed booby and the mysterious giant squid.
The models are built with mostly standard bricks, and tips and breakdowns will inspire children to create their own animal models. A combination of clear photos, authoritative text, fun facts, and classic LEGO humor helps children learn as they build and play their way around the animal world.

If you or your young one love creating with Lego and love books with new ideas then this is perfect for you. This Lego book by DK is full of colour, Lego, ideas, creations and inspiration for all your Lego blocks.
This book is more than just about getting creative ideas but also has habitat facts, such as information about what lives on The Great Barrier Reef, and the Himalayas being the worlds tallest mountains. This animal atlas shares with us animals from all over the world and tells us about each one in the different sections – did you know that Blue Island Crabs will eat just about anything that is by its nest, including fruit, leaves and even other crabs?
Just when you think this book cannot get any better there is a page about all the Lego bricks that are useful for making animals, I think this is a great idea to help with ideas for building up your collection and knowing how to use bricks you may already have. I never knew it was possible to make so many animals from across the world.
My favourite part of the book has to be the pack of Lego, this is used alongside the instructions in the book for making a giraffe, panda, penguin and Kangaroo. What a fun way to start learning how to make Lego animals.
I recommend this for any age, but for sound comprehension the recommendation is age 6+, I know I had fun having a play and might just have to pull my childhood Lego Collection out.
This book kept my son engaged while reading. With the the short and fun facts about each animal on different continents and how to build most of them, he was inspired to build some of the animals for this collection.
I wish DK could find a way to provide Lego with these books that didn’t mean you had a weird empty box at the start when the Lego was used. However the models the Lego makes are cute. Some really nice Lego models in the book as well as a few misses. Provides some basic biological facts in a fun way.
