Having thoroughly enjoyed the previous series Warriors of Poseidon I'm over the moon to discover this spin off set of books. Atlantis might not be hidden under the sea anymore but there's still plenty of evil out there in the world and this the first book starts quite rightly with a prodigal son returning.
Denal has the unenviable task of recruiting twelve fierce warrior's to form his very own deadly dozen and starts with a mage, a mermaid lover ( don't ask ! ) and a somewhat belligerent returnee

You know how sometimes when an author decides to continue on with a series, or to make a cross-over and they then force old characters in just to give us a glimpse of them? This wasn't that. This was a seamless blend and I found it easy to slip back into the Atlantis world Ms. Day has created.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this new series since the past couple novellas and the Cardinal Witches series have been so different from the Warriors of Poseidon. I was real

I really enjoyed the original series by Alyssa Day, The Warrior's of Poseidon. While this book wasn't terrible, I wasn't in love with it. I think because the book was so short and I feel that the hero's character changed in a finger snap. It was instant. I just felt that the whole story could have been developed more, however, I think these are supposed to be short stories because there is one for every month of the year.

January in Atlantis by Alyssa Day

January’s story is about Flynn and the organization of this new band of heroes. Flynn immediately falls for the lovely bartender, Eva. Together, they need to save the kidnapped girls and fight the Dark Angels.

A novella of romance, danger, adventure, an

I mean the ending kinda makes sense -- but she doesn't explain the connection? Angel blood? Demon blood? Demons are dogs? What?

I was an avid reader of the Atlantis books by Ms. Day when they first came out, and I was excited to be given the opportunity to read these new ones. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot, the characters, and the writing in this installment of the series. Ms. Day truly has a way with words. The heat between the characters practically melted the pages, and the characters were very real to me. While this book didn’t go into some of the details that the previous Atlantean books did, this was a great ride b ...more

Never worry about being disappointed in reading a book by Alyssa Day!! I have read most if not all of her books & ever since I read my first book of hers I was completely hooked & became a fan forever!! This new series involves Atlantis and Poseidon's Warriors, not just the original seven, but 12 new warriors marked by Poseidon in response to Atlantis's rising up from the ocean's depths. You still get to read what's new with King Conlan, Queen Riley & little Prince Aidan, as well as ...more

It was great to return to the world of Atlantis and it's warriors.  This the first book in the spin off series that started with the Warriors of Poseidon and we have a prodigal son return after years away from his homeland. He has his scars and he doesn't take crap from anyone, so when he is unceremoniously recruited for the new set of elite warriors to fight for Atlantis, he isn't exactly thrilled.  But when he, and the other 2 new recruits, find out what their first mission is, the misfits jum ...more

"January in Atlantis" by Alyssa Day. Book 1 in the Poseidon's Warriors series.

I liked it. This book is about Flynn, oldest brother to Liam (Halloween in Atlantis) and Dare (Christmas in Atlantis) and Eva, a human woman on the run from her ex-boyfriend.

Flynn is one of Poseidon's newest warriors and his mission is to save a group of young girls who've been kidnapped by the Hell's Dark Angels motorcycle club. Eva is on the run from her ex-boyfriend who is part of the Hell's Dark Angels motorcycle c

3.5 stars.

Flynn, the brother of Liam and Dare, gets "volunteered" to become one of Denal's team.

The h has an affinity for animals, and can control demons apparently.

A motorcycle gang run by demons is after her. The H rescues her.

Issues... there's coming clean and there's spilling your guts. The H has just met her only hour(s) before and tells her *everything*. Really? Of course, the whole "rescue the girls" bit is exceedingly anticlimactic. Of interest though are two new characters. Jack suppose

Month One of a Year in Atlantis

January in Atlantis was a quick and fun read and I enjoyed it. It was a luscious fantasy, just what I needed when I was a bit depressed. I didn't expect it to be great literature and it wasn't. If you are expecting great literature, then you're reading the wrong series. I'm looking forward to the fun to come.

I did take off a star because of a frustrating section that must have missed the editor. There were so many missing words and extra words and otherwise misuse

Enjoyable first of 12 follow up stories based on Ms Day's Poseidon's Warrior series. This is a novella version than the original books, but it brought the same feelings as the originals while bringing readers a new group of Warriors for our enjoyment. Denal is in charge of this group selected by Poseidon himself, and none of them are wanting to be in Denal's Dozen including Denal himself. This was the first mission to help humans against demons they are tasked with, and the story didn't disappoi ...more

About what you would expect from a novella. I really enjoyed seeing old friends again and catching up with Atlantis. I also like the plot line as a whole and the whole 1 novella a month for a year sounds awesome. However, like in most of your novellas, the story is a little forced and too fast paced to be really immersive and you never quite forget that you are reading a story instead of being swept away in the story. Feelings and thoughts are forced at a far to unnatural pace to be real and obs ...more

No Spoilers here, just another semi satisfied reader, why only semi satisfied? Because I really, really wished this story was so much longer, as I so wanted to stay within the page's of this world, (hence only 4 star's) wait! LOL, It was free, so 5 star's.
Oh well, will just have to get the next book, "February in Atlantis"

Clearly A Novel Idea
I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick, easy read with a romance plot that didn’t take over the entire story. I could have used a better understanding of Atlantis and its people but, it never impaired the story. I didn’t realize this was a spin off series which is a testimony to its own validity.

Eva and Flynn and wonderful characters to read with their own baggage but who grow very quickly together. Definitely, worth the read.

This is Flynn's story and my first in the Atlantis universe created by Alyssa. I was entertained. Bad guys, good guys, strong women, magic and myth. It was fun, romantic and action-packed. You do not have to know anything from the previous books to enjoy this one. Alyssa provides enough detail to ensure the story stands alone. I enjoyed it so much that when I finished it, I immediately started reading the original Atlantis series (Atlantis Rising).

3.5 stars. January In Atlantis is the first book in the Poseidon's Warriors series. This can be read as a standalone. Though it is clear from a statement at the end that other books will follow. There is violence and sex so 18+. This is a different take on fighting demons. I love the fact that Atlantis has risen and officially become part of the world again. I look forward to reading more about it's warriors and their battle with the demons on earth.

This book is one of those hidden gems in my opinion. I was expecting a book where they see each other and hit it off right away. With a great deal of hot steamy sexy times. That the hero was into having control. Well, he is but not the way I thought. What I got was something more. They have great chemistry and attraction. I also got heavy drama, I would recommend this to anyone!!

Good..But..

I’m a big fan of the original series and of the author but this book lacked the exciting ending that the others had. You do get a sweet but emotionally recked hero and a strong female lead.
My issue was that the final confrontation with the big baddies was a bit too simple, I was expecting an epic fight scene. It ended too quickly with not a lot of actual fighting.🥺

I have always loved the series Warriors of Atlantis, was sad it ended. Now Alyssa takes us back for the next generation. She did not disappoint, loved Flynn & Eva's story. If you love happy ever after, and sexy warriors. Then this new series spin off is for you. I can't wait to read the next installment.
