What a great start to 2018! Ankaran Immersion is a Cyberpunk adventure set in an intriguing post-Apocalyptic future. The world is partially covered in The Strand - living metal inhabited by seemingly malevolent AIs who are frequently at war with humans and one another. The Strand is a great concept and I have difficulty doing it justice here, but its ability to set traps, shape-shift into giant monsters roaming the land, etc. is thoroughly explored and makes for interesting reading. I was genuinely surprised by this book. It hooked me in from the beginning (and life kept getting in my dang way) and I enjoyed it all the way through.

I was honestly expecting something with a YA feel, but this wasn't the case. Some of the main characters are kids, but it was told in a way I'd expect from some serious adult books. Which was amazing, and refreshing.

Like nothing I've read before.

I could not put this book down. It grabs your attention from the start and does not let go.
Imagine that you find yourself inside the Internet. Imagine confronting a virus as a building. Having companions that were part human and machine.
Evie and Hunter are half siblings. They live as Pure. Humans who spurn technology. Until one day while they are gathering food in the woods all that changes and the adventure begins. If you have ever used a computer you'll want to r

This review has been crossposted from my blog at The Cosy Dragon . Please head there for more in-depth reviews by me, which appear on a timely schedule.

Evie and her brother have been separated from their tribe – and now Hunter is very sick with something that only the Tainted can cure. Will Evie be able to help her brother in time? Or will her hatred of the Tainted get in her way.

I found myself quite confused a lot of the time and I struggled to follow the point of the novel. The blurb led me to

Born into a literary family (both his parents are authors and college professors), Will fell in love with science fiction and fantasy literature during the comics boom of the early 90’s and never looked back. Now residing in the fantastic realm known as the Philly ‘burbs, he uses his geek talents to program computers by day, while by night he huddles over unfinished manuscripts, attempting to engi
