This is a fairly good, compact field guide to wild flowers of Southern Europe (covers Italy, Spain, Portugal and southern France). Most helpful to me were the introductory comments on the areas of botanical interest, detailing the best botanical areas in this region e.g. the Algarve in Portugal, the Ronda-Grazalema & Picos de Europa in Spain, and the Mediterranean islands of Corsica and Sardina. However the actual floral coverage was rather weak. The exception is monocots, especially orchids . . . this guide includes ever species recorded in the area!

This book is useless. Full of information that is almost completely inaccessible. It is a shame that the authors put so much time into compiling a field guide that can not be utilized.
