After escaping Agent Terex and the First Order, Poe and the Black Squadron find themselves at prison complex Megalox Beta to talk with prisoner Grakkus the Hutt about Lor San Tekka's location, but a vengeful enemy has beaten the squadron there. Aligned to Common Core Standards and correlated to state standards. Spotlight is a division of ABDO.

I liked this issue a lot more than the previous one. This felt more spy thriller / Star Wars Oceans 11 to me. I liked this issue because I felt we could get to know more of Black Squadron too.
Poe celebrates with his team before they begin their next mission. They travel to Megalox Beta to meet with Grakkus the Hutt as he met with Lor some time ago. As they are lowered into the prison, they realize the prison has its own rank and they have to survive on their own.
I liked the setting of the prison being in this dome of sorts. The prison seemed like a perfect backdrop to the chaos that ensues. This issue had more action, so I felt that it was a faster read.
I am willing to move past and forget about the previous 3 issues to the left of this one, as #4 was quite enjoyable. Forget about this being Sequels, Poe, etc., and just look at this single issue objectively.
What we have here starts off with ~10 pages of some space pilots hanging out post mission op, which I fully admit was actually pretty enjoyable to read.
Then following that, we get Hutts with mechanical limb augmentation (woah), a prison planet situation that is very intriguing, a face-off between good and treacherous, and a comic book that is fun to read with good flow and a nice cliffhanger at the end that leaves the reader wanting more.
This one didn’t overly impress me since we are transferring from one story arc to another. I do think that I will enjoy this upcoming arc more since there will be more action taking place!!! Can’t wait to read the next one
Possibly my favourite issue so far. It starts with a brief scene which prompts a flashback to a few days earlier: the squadron sorting out a few things from the previous mission, chilling out back at base and Poe in the now-iconic jacket. Yes, *that* jacket. You know the one I mean. Then he explains to the squadron that the next step to finding Lor San Tekka will involve a trip to prison to question a Hutt. Said prison is a maximum security facility where even the guards fear to enter...
Again, the writers really seem to have found their groove with the dialogue - and it's nice to get a glimpse of the crew off-duty, whether it's exploring a potential romance for Snap or seeing Poe trying to make sure his pilots adhere to battle etiquette. Even in such a short issue, the prison scenes are suspenseful with a real sense of danger. I look forward to finding and reading issue 5.
And "Poe directly to jail!" is still making me laugh.
It makes sense that Lor San Tekka would've encountered Grakkus, a collector of Jedi artifacts. Love how this ties back to Showdown on the Smuggler's Moon. And I love how he promises to give info on Lor San Tekka to whoever can break him out of the prison, the concept of which is interesting as it is governed by the prisoners. Odd that Poe doesn't seem to be wearing a mask when he should. And I mentally face-palmed when Poe told Snap "It'll be a Snap."

Am I always the first person to read this series? XD This is my favourite issue so far. You finally get to see the characters interact in a social setting, which is excellent, although I wish Poe and Jess had some page time together. But this is starting to get reeeaaally interesting and I can't wait to see where it goes. (More than a month until the next issue though, whyyyyy)
Quite strong considering this is just an intermediate issue between arcs. The new set up is really exciting and the little bits of character work that get done before then are also nice. Feels very cinematic, so it's easier to accept how talky it is. Giving it another issue.
This was an excellent set-up. Loved the camaraderie and conversations between the players. Loved the challenge. And the stuttery transition/pace problems of issue #3 were absent in #4. I'm excited for the next one.
Really good. I am looking forward to each new monthly issue. In this one, Poe goes to prison, you have Hutts and returning nemesis. The graphics are good. I can't wait for the next issue. I'm addicted.
