Returning home to Baltimore, FBI agent Althea Pritchard becomes involved in a kidnapping case that brings back terrifying memories of her own kidnapping eight years earlier and has her partnered with a man with whom she had shared one night of passion. Original.

Nobody can do romantic suspense like Maureen Smith. This book was really good. I literally could not put it down at one point, because I was so curious about who the bad guy was; it's never the obvious person, so I suspected just about everyone - and never considered the person who turned out to be the bad guy (what a surprise!). The action took place in my neck of the woods, which made the book even more appealing to me.
Loved, loved, loved that fine Damien Wade. Other reviewers have been correct in saying that there wasn't much romance in this book, but Damien and Althea really clicked; they worked well togther and when they came together, the scenes were H-O-T!
Maureen Smith weaves an enjoyable yarn that is comparable to the works of the book turned into a movie crowd. He as may be her strength, but her writing isn't stale because her style is so varied. Read this book!!!
Ms. Smith writes a really good mystery romance especially involving the law enforcement. I've read several of her novels and they are well done with a great twist. This is a story about survival and how a lived experience, a horrible on for Althea (being kidnapped) can be beneficial to saving someone else's life. I would not have guessed that Althea's tormentor and the story's villain is her therapist. He was nutty as a fruitcake especially when you find out his motive.
Althea and Damien fell in love the first night they met. To find out they were colleagues and partners working for the FBI on this case was an added challenge to them having the relationship which they both wanted but resisted especially Althea.
I'm planning to read With Every Breath (1st Wade Brother Book)-This is Althea's kidnap story which is also Imani and Garrison's (Damien's brother) love story.

I’ve read this book so many times and I love it each time. Damien and Althea meet at the club and spend a hot night together. They surprisingly run into each other at work and are assigned to work a kidnapping case that is very similar to Althea’s kidnapping case from 8 years ago. They try to keep their relationship professional but their chemistry is just too strong.
This was a phenomenal romantic suspense romance and I enjoyed reading it again.
A riveting adventure of pure mystery, self determination, and romance. Great characters and storyline that kept me thoroughly engaged from beginning to the end.
I've been on Maureen Smith romantic-suspense reading frenzy since last week...I've read the last of four of her books I had in my TBR pile...and was CAUGHT UP in the romance and suspense of each one...and although "No One But You" starts out with a BIG BANG...the immediate mysterious kidnapping...and then the HIGHLY erotic sexual encounter between Damien and Althea is quite THRILLING & SEXY...unfortunately as the story goes on it sort of FIZZLES a bit...I'm a HUGE fan of Mrs. Smith's tales...but this one is definitely LACKING in the romance department...she sets the stage for an INTENSE attraction between Damien and Althea...but then kinda leaves you hanging...because after their first encounter they NEVER act on the sparks of desire that are SIZZLIN' between them throughout...granted they're pretty busy trying to solve a kidnapping...but if it's a romantic suspense...WHERE'S THE ROMANCE...the suspense is quite similar to her first book "With Every Breath"...but it's not as CHILLING or engaging as in any of her previous novels...and all the details surrounding the criminal investigation become a little tedious...and when the criminal is FINALLY revealed...although I'm SURPRISED by the identity of the "PYSCHO"...I didn't quite buy his reasoning behind his criminal actions...the explanation is a bit lame...and with over 400 plus pages I guess I just expected a more EXCITING read...after finally finishing all her stories...I have to say this one is my least favorite...that being said...I still enjoy Mrs. Smith's writing style and will continue to look for her novels.
I would say this is better than With Every Breath, but that would take away from the fabulousness of that book. A great sequel to With Every Breath, but also a nice stand alone. This story had me guessing right up until the end.
I loved the romantic parts of the book and the mystery to solve to crime led the couple closer together I could've done without the whole crazy things that tied into the book
Wow! This was an amazing follow up. I was excited to read Damien's story but I think I was more excited to learn even more about Althea 8 years later and Smith did not disappoint! Absolutely loved it and would definitely reccommend
