This book was about a dog looking for his owner. One day, the dog woke up and there was no food or water. The dog was looking all over the house for his owner, but he could not find the old man. So the dog thought the man was lost, so it was his duty to find him. The dog started off with riding the bus. However, the bus driver kicked the dog out saying his was a "bad dog." Then the dog went to the school. He kind of make a ruckus by erasing the board, messing up posters, and drinking out of the fish bowl. The dog looked everywhere for the old man, but couldn't find him. Then the principle also kicked him out saying he was a bad dog. The same thing kept happening at subway, the opera house, the taxi car, and the museum. The dog went all over the place at the museum, but could not find the old man. Then at the museum, he saw a brontosaurus model made of bones. So the dog was tempted to lick it. However, by accident, the dog knocked everything over. The museum curator called a dogcatcher, and the poor dog was sent to the pound. At the pound, the dog was treated very badly. As the dog started giving up hope, he saw a familiar head.
This book was actually really enjoyable. I loved how the author switched places, and made the dog look for his owner. The dog was getting misunderstood, and even acted like a human being. I also thought it was clever how the author kept repeating, "bad dog," for every page. Somebody would constantly be calling the dog bad, and in the end, I thought the author cleverly used that to make a happy ending. Overall, the story was great, and I think this makes a really good children's book.
I actually enjoyed the illustrations very much. The pictures looked a little old fashioned, because the book itself was a little old. However, I thought it did a really good job representing the story. There was a lot of colors and details. Also I think the author did a really good job with showing the expressions of the dog, and made the dog really funny. When the author was looking for the owner in the house, I laughed because he was doing everything the old man usually does. I thought the author did a really good job using personification on that part.

March 22, 2015In this book, a dog wakes up hungry and looks for his owner. He searches everywhere in the house to find the Old Man. When he cannot find him, he makes his search outside. He goes through the train, the opera house, a school, and even a cab but no luck would come to him as everywhere he'd go, he would find a way to always make a huge mess and get kicked out. At last, when he chewed at a bone at a museum, the owner called a dog catcher. Scared and alone at the dog pound, he curls up in a ball depressed that he could not find his owner. All of the sudden, his owner comes and takes him home. Being at home, the old man explains that he went out to get him a bone.
This book is a great story to read to little kids as it has a great story line and the illustrations are full of color and a lot of details. It goes in depth in a dog's desperation to find his owner and it hooks the readers emotions when the dog was upset and alone in the dog pound. In all of the illustrations, the illustrator used a lot of bright colors, making this book and fun and cute book. Perfect for all children ages.

As I began to read the book it stated that the owner had forgotten to feed his dog. So the animal had no clue as to what to do, he then went on an adventure to find his owner. As he went searching he goes through much trouble and at last the dog was found by his owner as he was captured in a dog pound.
