Always fun to read books about your hobbies but was expecting a bit more. The book does provide good thoughts on various drinks to mix and key elements of the process (equipment, ice, etc). Not sure why the book spent so many pages listing various gin brands. Would have preferred the space be spent on additional thoughts on mixology itself.... can always find reviews on the internet that are more up to date. Regardless, a worthwhile book that will provide ideas to try in the years ahead!

I borrowed this book from the library with the goal to learn more about Gins. I read how it is distilled in general. The disappointing aspect is the author left out so many great distilleries! I would say at least 15 major ones and artisanal ones. The section on each distillery was quite minimal as well. I almost wanted to give this book two stars. The Martini recipe had orange bitters as part of a basic recipe too (Mind boggling and no explanation to why).
The helpful parts of the book were the flavor wheel, how to infuse, and the last sections on making syrups, dust, and cold brewing. I did get inspired for syrup making and dust making, just not Ginspired. The title did not match the content for me.

This is an attractive books that encourages creastivity whenmaking cocktails with gin. the bok is physically attractive with beautiful color photographs. The recipes are doable. Could have done with a more abbreviated index of different brands of gin but overall a fun reference.

The distillery and gin descriptions were good, but the recipes were not. Oh well.
