"How did our universe form? Where did we come from?"
The friendly Tardigrade Tom takes Annabelle & Aiden on their biggest adventure yet! Soaring through space and time, they witness the universe's earliest stages, marvel at the big bang, and learn how each and every one of us is literally made of the same stardust.
Young readers will learn how we each hold a part of the universe inside us, and are far more special , interconnected, and 'larger' than we may think.
J. R. holds a B.A. in Philosophy and a Juris Doctorate from Emory University School of Law. When he's not practicing entertainment law, playing drums, or enjoying the great outdoors, Joseph enjoys all the science and philosophy books and podcasts he can, pondering the bigger questions and dreaming up ideas for future children stories.
After publishing his first (philosophical, dystopian) novel The Spider & the Ant, and later becoming a father, Joseph was inspired to found the Annabelle & Aiden series to foster curiosity and scientific awareness in the next generation. Joseph lives in New Jersey with his wife Leah, and two children, Annabelle & Aiden.
What a delightful and colorful science book. A great way to explain the beginning of the universe to a child. Very informative and entertaining at the same time! I loved it! Wonderful illustrations!
The Annabel and Aiden series of science for children and gorgeously illustrated, including supplemental information for adults hidden as part of the illustration (and somewhat hard to read) The books discuss evolution, the big bang, myths in a way to provoke children to ask even more questions that parents are prepared to answer using the adult text. I recommend that parents read the book first before their kids start asking questions! The reason I don't give the books 5 stars is that Becker has attempted to write the children's text in rhyme, which doesn't always succeed—and he is no poet. However kids seem to enjoy rhymes, so maybe it isn't a problem for them.
"Stars are born babies, just like us, They live their lives, then die without fuss. They fall apart, and come together, forming plants like Earth, with crazy weather."
I have no words for how beautiful this book truly is. The author and illustrator did an amazing job of bringing to life an entire narrative -blended with both fact and fiction - around the oft uttered phrase “we are stardust”. Whether you are spiritual or of the sciences, I think everyone can appreciate this gorgeous book and it’s message.
My son received this from the Literati book club. I simply cannot get through reading this out loud without crying. It is just such a lovely explanation of cosmology and the Universe and our place within it.
The illustrations are beautiful. The words on the ebook were not always clear on their backgrounds. On a physical page the formatting would create a neat effect. I loved how they explained that we are part of our world.
Nice story, but would definitely recommend the actual book. I had to stop and squint to make out the words on several pages, which detracted from the story's flow.
This book was simply beautiful. The writing and the illustrations are so captivating.... I love the stars and the universe and this book gave our galaxy justice! I would recommend to anyone and everyone.
The illustrations are absolutely stunning. It’s definitely an easy to understand book, which is perfect considering it is a children’s book. It’s one I plan on reading to my younger cousins and my god sister.
