The Firefighter’s Twins was a sweet romance in a great setting. I really liked Shay and Natalie. They had both been through some rough things in the recent past.

It was interesting to watch these two begin to navigate their feelings for each other. Both characters had the inclination to try to control things, whether it was Shay worrying over his son’s food allergy or Natalie being unwilling to accept help from her sisters with the management of the family farm.

Both characters experienced a good

The Firefighter's Twins by Heidi McCahan is a sweet Christian contemporary romance with strong themes grounded in God.
We all need to trust God in the good and the bad times. Too often we try to make it through life, being self sufficient or making decisions based on our fears. We can trust God at all times and in all situations. "You have to trust that God will provide, even if His provision doesn't look like you think it should."
The novel is community minded. "Incredible things happen when peop

The Firefighter's Twins is a Love Inspired book by Heidi McCahan.  This book is such a wonderful Christian romance read. Shay and Natalie are both strong willed people. Both are determined to have things there way. This story is full of love, faith, determination and so much more. I received a complementary copy of this book. This review is my honest opinion. 4 stars!
The Firefighter's Twins was a cute romance. I liked the characters and loved how the hero was a firefighter. I felt bad for Shay and how his wife left him - she sounded like a terrible and selfish woman to leave not only her husband, but also their twins. Ugh!

All in all, a great read!

4.5 Stars!

I stopped reading Harlequin inspired romances a few years ago because I couldn’t seem to find any that had a lot of depth to them or they just seemed too rushed for me. Lately though, I have found some really great authors in these lines! (I’m talking to you Jill Lynn, dana mentink, Ruth Logan Herne, Jan Drexel and Heidi McCahan 😉) Even though they are shorter books, with the right author, you can find stories that have depth and don’t feel too rushed.

This is a well written book with a heartfelt story line. The author does a great job developing the characters and weaving a clean romance about faith, hope, forgiveness and love. Both Shay and Natalie are struggling with life's problems. Shay has his hands full raising his twin infant sons , Liam and Aiden. Natalie is overwhelmed with her responsibilities to her family. Both have guilt issues they've been battling for what seems like forever.I loved their characters as well as the adorable little ...more

Great read about two people trying to move beyond layers of past hurts. The author did a good job of developing the main characters while providing supporting characters that you care about too. As you get swept up in the story you realize this is more than a 'get over broken heart and find love again' story, it is also two people learning more about themselves and the far reaching impact their choices had/have.

The Firefighter’s Twins by Heidi McCahan is a very sweet Christian fiction novel that definitely left me smiling! The characters are well written and very realistic, the plot of the story is engaging, and the messages are timely.

I’m going to be honest here. I struggle to trust. Trust is one of the hardest things for me to do. I struggle to trust God and others. I am MAJOR Type-A. I love to control my surroundings as much as humanly possible. When life gets crazy and chaotic, I tend to clean beca

If you enjoy books with a lot going on, The Firefighter’s Twins will not disappoint. And let’s be realistic here, the first time Shay steps into the pages, a single parent of two adorable twin boys, your heart will melt a little for this man.

Heidi McCahan manages to pack the pages of this story full of problems, revelations, adorableness, and romance. From the issues with Natalie’s family, Shay’s job and overprotectiveness of his boys, and the unique settings of the farm, wedding venue, and Habi

Adorable toddler alert! These two kiddos steal your heart quickly as we dive into Heidi McCahan's debut Love Inspired novel. The plot is fairly fast paced and keeps you interested and the characters are easy to like. An enjoyable read!

Event planner Natalie McDowell has been pulled in too many directions for awhile now as she tries to juggle her business along with overseeing her family's busy farm. When a dream job opportunity comes knocking at her door, she thinks this could be her answer ... b

I hadn't read a romance novel in a very long time and this one captured my attention from the very beginning! Author, Heidi McCahan, brings you right into the story as if you are really living life alongside Shay Campbell and Natalie McDowell, the main characters. This book takes you through the feelings of loss, grief, joy, empathy, hope, love and ultimately the big one, trust. It's easy to find yourself identifying with one or more of the characters as you root for them. I didn't want this boo ...more

The firefighters twins

I love books with twins in it and one of the boys has a nut allergy so Shay has to be really cautious. Shay is doing a really good job at being a single father, he really has a lot to handle. Natalie has a lot to deal with too between being conflicted about her job and family. I really could feel her frustration and also her family’s pain in dealing with her dads health. The characters became so real to me. I really enjoyed reading this book. I received an advanced copy of

One of the things that I love about the Love Inspired series is that no matter what book you pick up, you know that it will be clean, sweet, and inspirational. This is a new author to me -- so I was excited to see how it was. First and foremost.... the cover just DRAWS YOU IN!!!! The kids on the cover are the cutest. The characters are so well written. I just loved Natalie and Shay. You can feel their chemistry, no matter how hard they try to notice it. Great story line, moves at the right pace. ...more

Let's see, sweet romance, handsome firefighter, single dad of twin boys...what more can I say? I want more books like this! The cover alone is irresistible. Not only did this story have all the elements I adore in a romance, but I also loved the setting of North Carolina. I could just picture the lush landscape and Southern sunsets! Content-wise, this book did not disappoint! As I read of Shay's struggles to manage his two toddler sons, it brought back memories of when my boys were little. The a ...more

For readers looking for a quick, sweet read, look no further than The Firefighter’s Twins by Heidi McCahan. It features a small-town community where firefighter Shay Campbell and wedding planner Natalie McDowell cross one another’s path again and again. Both Shay and Natalie have complicated circumstances in their pasts that cause them to reach for control in their lives, but it’s time for them to learn if they can trust God—and perhaps, open to the pos

I really enjoyed this book. Heidi McCahan did a wonderful job bring the characters together to get to their HEA. I had to read the book in one sitting. That is how good it was. I am looking forward to reading more from Ms. McCahan. I did receive an advance readers copy and I am voluntarily reviewing the book.

It isn't very often that I start out a review with a desire to simply—right away—share how much I enjoyed a book. Today is one of those days. I enjoyed The Firefighter's Twins by Heidi McCahan! I don't dole out five star reviews like candy; there are a few things that I'm looking for when determining how I rate a book (naturally, my opinion is mine alone and is subjective!).

Author Heidi McCahan hit one of those "things" that I look for right away, and I didn't even realize it at first. The first

With her debut novel for the Love Inspired line, Heidi McCahan has proved herself to be an author to watch. The Firefighter’s Twins has the sweet romance you would expect, but there’s so much depth and complexity to this story.

Set in the small-town community of Meadow Springs, North Carolina, we meet Shay – a firefighter with scene-stealing twin boys, as the title indicates – and Natalie, an event coordinator on her family’s farm. I loved th

The Firefighter’s Twins by Heidi McCahan

Natalie had already lost a boyfriend to the dangers of firefighting and was determined to never again risk her heart in that way. Yet, she was powerless against the charm of Shay and his adorable twins.

Shay was everything a handsome fireman hero should be. He was also very insecure, having a wife who had left him for her career, and guilt that he held on to from his childhood. His deep love for his boys was precious, but it also had him obsessing over them

A contemporary clean romance with little adorable twins and a firefighter daddy?! Win, Win in my book. 😉

I love how Love Inspired books are short but deep reads. This story kept up the pace the way I like it, not too slow, not too fast. Shay and Natalie are the main characters that switch telling the story. I enjoy learning more personal things about the characters before they share it out loud with others. I understood more about the characters personality as their past and present experiences w

The Firefighter's Twins by Heidi McCahan. Firefighter Shay Campbell moves back home with his twin two year old boys when his wife left him for a musical career. One of the boys has a peanut allergy. Shay is very protective of the boys. There is a farm just down the road from where Shay lives. He takes the boys there and meets Natalie McDowell who runs the farm and all that goes on there. Natalie is watching the boys one day and turns away at the park to take a phone call for her career. A lady i ...more

I enjoyed Heidi's latest and the world she created on the farm. I haven't read many books with firefighters, but I liked getting to know a bit more about their world, without having the story get absorbed in details about firefighting. While I did like Natalie and Shay (and the twins!), I think my favorite character is the fire chief. He makes a few brief appearances, but I appreciate how he cares for his men beyond the job.

Overall, it's a lighter read of the quality expected with a Love Inspire

This was a pleasant new romance for me to read. I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed a LIS this much! Shay and Natalie were a great team working hard to build not only a home but also the foundation for their friendship and possibly more. I adored Shay’s twins and remember how hard it is to help your young ones cope with a parent leaving. It isn’t easy but Shay did a fabulous job of being the full time parent. A very sweet and clean romance. Shay is a firefighter wth soul custody of twin 18 month old boys. As he struggles as a single patent, he meets Natalie, a caring and kind woman who is drawn to this firefighter and his boys. There are challenges that each are facing and both are afraid of the attraction between them. What results is a sweet contemporary romance with a Christian background. An enjoyable read.

Wonderful story line and great characters. I personally could relate to both Shay and Natalie; single parenting and juggling family business while working full time.
It was heartbreaking how both of their pasts interfered with the present and any relationship.
I haven't dealt with the health issue that was addressed with one of the twins, but I appreciate the awareness the author brings to the situation and the seriousness of it.
Overall, The Firefighter's Twins was a pleasure to read!

This is another amazing book by Heidi McCahan! The best part is how she weaves the characters into an amazingly complex story, has overtones of sensualism, but keeps the strong Christian values intact. This is a great beach read!

You can feel the sexual tension and then the twist near the end had me in tears. A must-read for anyone with a desire to not put down a book.
