Tokyo Graffiti
Does street art exist in spotless Tokyo? Yes! But strict vandalism laws and conservative Japanese culture have suppressed the graffiti scene in Tokyo. This stunning survey by photographer and graffiti artist Lord K2 takes you into the Tokyo neighborhoods exhibiting a colorful array of urban art created on the fly and as low-key as possible. Here is a look at vibrant stickers, tags, highly elaborate murals by both local and international artists, and a gallery of work by the artist network Pow! Wow! Worldwide. The images are accompanied by well-researched commentary and a history of Tokyo graffiti, positioning this book as a comprehensive introduction to the best kept secrets Tokyo's graffiti scene has to offer.

This book is really great! First as an object it's just beautiful. Second, it present not only urban art/graffiti, but it also give you information about Tokyo graffiti and culture in a more general way. I never been to Tokyo, and God I hope to go one day, and this book just push me even more into wanting to go there! If you enjoy urban art, good photography and are interest in Tokyo this book is definitely worth looking for. Saying it like that may sound like it's for a very specific public, but it's not, I don't know a lot about all at, and I really enjoy it anyway! It's a good book to read and a really good book to look into!
Just want to add a note on this one. What I'm about to say haven't impact my review in anyway but it's something quite rare these days and I though it worth mentioning. I first received this book on netgaley, in a pdf format (not sure if it was pdf... anyway, but the edition was not working. I mentioned it on the site... and long story short, the publisher contact me, offer me to send a real hardcover copy to kind of apologize for it. I find it really nice of them and think it's a really rare kind of customer service in those days, so just want to thank the publisher for that!

I have always looked at Graffiti as a form of art. Yes there should be a time and place for this art instead of all over every street, building, and train in pretty mush every city I have ever been in. I have heard that a lot of the graffiti art does have meanings, I have never looked into the art to find the meaning before though.
This book by Lord K2 focuses on the the graffiti in Tokyo Japan. Did you know that graffiti is not just names and symbols. There are actually a few different types of graffiti. Stikers Grafiti is one I never heard of but part of this book.
I very much enjoyed this book and also got a graffiti education. There are tons of pictures and more. Lord K2 has done a great job of bringing Graffiti into the world of art.
I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com to read and review.

I am reviewing this book for author, publisher , and NetGalley who gave me a copy of their book for an honest review.
I liked the second part of the book which showed commissioned graffiti – I can appreciate these pieces of art – the majority of these I thought were fantastic. I skipped through the beginning part all about tagging
