The myths and legends of Ireland are many - and this one is one of the most tragic. When Deirdre of the Sorrows was born, a prophecy said she would be so beautiful she would bring war and misfortune to all - but the king decided he would marry her when she was grown, so he hid her in a fortress, with no one but a nurse and a servant.

I enjoyed this book. It was a very interesting read and one I found a lot of fun. I haven’t read anything by this author previously, but will definitely be reading more.

I found the author created an excellent world for this book. It was very real and detailed, leading me to become quote engrossed in the story. There were also lots of details in the surrounding characters and the lives taking place, which made it realistic and enjoyable to become part of, as I read.
