copy received for honest review Scarlett is sick of always being a bridesmaid but never a bride. She is the last single female in her group of friends. Her relationships never get too far. Zack is a friend, also single, but loving it. When they get together at a mutual friend's wedding, Scarlett is depressed and Zack is the answer to her depression. They spend the night together. They make a silly agreement to marry in a year if neither finds someone. Zack is happy with the friends with benefits but Scarlett falls for him. A miscommunication, hurt feelings and a impromptu job change cause the lovers to separate. A lot happens during the time they are apart. Secrets are kept, and the two find it hard to deal with the distance. Zack is a little bit of a jerk but still lovable. He is honest for the most part and is up front about what he thinks he wants. Scarlett is sweet but as little insecure due to her past relationships. He actions with Zack are completely out of character. I enjoyed the story and recommend to anyone who enjoys, quick reads with believable characters.

Zack wants to hold on to his playboy ways but Scarlett falls for him.. now what, who wins and do they allow others to get in the way?..can't tell you need to read...entertainin..Enjoy!
Headline: *squeal!!!!! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I’m just so happy! I will not lie, there was a few tense moments where I nearly ripped my hair out because I couldn’t reach into the book and slap some people. Idiots. But there were more moments of me talking myself down from squealing fits so that I could actually read. Translation: I highly recommend you read this book. Happy reading!
Wow this was a sweet but also a hot read. I wanted to smack both Zach and Scarlett sometimes – why don’t you two try to speak to each other. Scarlett is not a “one-night stand” kind of girl, but she cannot hold on to her dates, and then she hooks up with a Zach who is a player (but up front about it), mostly because almost everyone around her is getting married. Her character is realistic, she sets herself up thinking she can just have fun with Zach since they were already good friends…. Both got on my nerves at times, but the result was sweet. Zach tries so hard to hang onto his player card mindset and he had to remind himself of his player ways. These two are stubborn and truly have a huge test before them, communication and temptation become a problem. I really didn’t like Abigail, but she played her part very well and increased the drama level. Very good story, I couldn’t put it down, it is very well written, but occasionally I was confused about how long time had progressed.
I received an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review, but everything I write is my own opinion.

Scarlett is sick of being a bridesmaid again. She wants to skip the reception and go home when her friend Zach tries to cheer her up. When he offers her a one night stand she will never forget she goes for it and she is for a very hot night. (And so are we as a reader/ Yes!) But while Zach is a playboy and he normally only does one night stands he can't let Scarlett go and two more hot nights follow.
When everything seems to turn into a real relationship Zach has to move to Tokyo for work and leaves Scarlett behind. Things mess up, because Zach is talking a bit to much about his colleague and the things they do together. They have a fight and Scarlett hungs up on him. But soon she finds out she got pregnant. From that moment on they should have acted both grown up a little more and it wouldn;t have become such a mess. But it does make you want to read more and more to find out what the end result is.
Do you want to know that? Read the book, you will enjoy it.
Zack and Scarlett have been friends since college. They keep bumping into each other at every wedding of their friends. Since Scarlett hasn’t the ability of having a long lasting relationship and Zach instead is a womanizer they both decide to be friends with benefits and change their relationship from friends to f-buddies. So, they both make a promise to one another that is they will marry each other if they are still single after a long time. But their fling gets quite serious, so while Zach is convinced that things are still the same as before, Scarlett on the other hand has fallen deeply in love and to top it all off she is also pregnant. The entire situation will soon get very confusing because Zach, unaware of Scarlett’s condition, will work abroad and Scarlett will go through her pregnancy all on her own. If you think that things are messy, just wait and read the rest of the book. An enjoyable read with positive and easygoing characters.
Can two long time friends turned lovers develop a relationship of substance or are they destined to ruin a perfectly good friendship? I definitely recommend reading this friends with benefits (and more) story by Summer Cooper to find the answer. I was hooked from the first page and read this story in one sitting. I connected with Scarlet from the get-go. I found myself tearing up as I related to her inner dialogue of being the last friend married (attending yet another wedding) without the prospect of one of her own in the near future. Unfortunately for me, I've never had a Zach come in and sweep me off my feet though. I loved these two together, even though they had me so frustrated at their lack of crucial communication at times. Did they ever have a much needed conversation? You'll have to read this to find out. *I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is my honest review.*
F Buddy by Summer Cooper a five-star read you will not want to put down. Summer Copper keep up the good work, you have once again written characters I went between wanting to hit or smush together depending on behaviour and how much sleep I have had. Zack and Scarlett what are we going to do with the air of you, they had this lovely sweetness to them that made you care about them and also a heat that could cook your turkey!! Thank you Summer Cooper for writing hot boys I want to throw my underwear at, and girls I want to have coffee and drinks with, you don’t often like seeing the leading lady get it on with the hottie but this time I was cheering them on.
This is a well written friends to lovers story with strong characters in Scarlett and Zach. The author does a great job building their relationship and giving them a sizzling hot chemistry. I enjoyed watching them come together.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Scarlett and Zach have been friends for a long time when they end up hooking up the night of their mutual friends' wedding. Neither is looking for a relationship, though, so they agree to a fwb situation for the time being, even though Scarlett is really more of the relationship kind and Zach is the complete opposite - a manwhore who is always up front about not wanting a relationship or commitment to the many women he sleeps with. When Zach's office transfers him to Tokyo indefinitely, they try to make their relationship work, but Scarlett is suddenly acting clingy and insecure, and Zach is rebelling against it by insisting they are nothing to each other. Sigh...
So when something big happens, how will the couple (not couple) react? How can they make a relationship work when they're not even on the same continent?! When one of them won't even answer the other's calls, texts and Skype requests?!
Normally I love friends to lovers romances, but in F Buddy, Scarlett and Zach annoyed the ever loving shit out of me. I can't think of two more immature, stubborn, ridiculous fictional characters in all the books I've read lately! I wanted them to grow up, talk to each other like the adults they supposedly were, and either get together and stay together, or leave each other the hell alone. God. Ugh. I'm still annoyed even though I'm done reading. Sorry, this one just annoyed me so much that I am having a hard time even writing this review.
F Buddy is well-written for the most part, though, and others will probably enjoy it. I just can't honestly rate it higher when the two leads were so annoying and so unlikable.

Verified ARC Reader You can never go wrong with a story by Summer Cooper and this one is no exception! Hot, steamy & awesome scenes - Highly Recommend by JoyceG
This was a truly interesting storyline to read. I found the concept of having a core group of friends that over time has expanded; some of which the H/h will get to interact with and evoke feelings of like, love, ambiquity, etc. in their ever expanding circle. It also provides an opportunity for unrequited personal interest among the core members or others that may join in the future. I didn't give a higher rating because I had a question that was never answered within this storyline, but would/could be answered in an another book. Regardless it is very good and not having that information doesn't detract from the overall arc. Highly recommend every book authored by Summer Cooper and this one is no different!
Story does contain adult language, steamy and detailed intimate scenes, one night stands and no use of protection. If you are sensitive or offended by any of these situations, then this is not the book for you.
There is a circle of friends that meet in college and the circle has continued to expand as people have met, dated, and married. The circle of friends doesn't meet as often as they once did, but make it a priority for weddings, celebrations, and holidays. Otherwise, there are certain members that are closer than others and hang out all the time. An example of this is Olivia and Scarlett are really good friends, while Chad is really good buds with Chad; they talk, text, go out to eat, etc. Currently there are only two members of the circle that are single; Scarlett and Zach.
Scarlett just split from a boyfriend about a month earlier, but has been struggling with depression and her sense of self worth, as she wants to meet her true love and get married, and doesn't understand why all of the boyfriends she has had left her. She does admit that part of her problem could be that she is more in love with the idea of being married than with some of the guys she has dates.
Zach is not one for commitment and he is honest up front with anyone he is "seeing". He only tried to have a relationship once when he was much younger and it was a disaster, so he definitely stays away from even the idea of them now.
It starts at the wedding reception of Sasha, one of the friends from the circle, that got married. Both Zach and Scarlett attended and at this point she is sick of being a bridesmade and never a bride - this is the fifth time this year and it is only March! With all of the weddings and split from her last boyfriend, Scarlett was drinking heavier than normal trying to just get through enough of the reception until she could leave without creating a stir later. Then Zach asks her to dance and they spend quite a bit of time on the dance floor. Enough that it actually provides Scarlett enough time to sober up. On the slower dances the two of them talk and have quite the conversation that turns to flirting. Zach had noticed that she was kinda down before he asked her to dance. He wanted to cheer her up. He would love to have a night with her, or more if she would, but the timing had never been right. She would be with a boyfriend and they would break up, then she would be sad. Then before he could make a move or say anything, some other guy would ask her out. Zach never knew why anyone would leave her; she was beautiful, had a good job and was wonderful to talk with.
Zach then takes the conversation to how he has had a lot of intimate encounters but they have made him know what to do in bed. Then he offers that maybe he could make her feel better - no strings attached. Then Scarlett shocks both of them by saying "Yes!"
Scarlett realizes after she agreed that she would love to have sex with Zach, even though she was a little concerned what the impact could be to their circle of friends. She then realized that she didn't care ... they were friends first and they would make it work, because it is well known that Zach didn't due relationships and that is what Scarlett has desperately wanted. Zach continues to make sure that there are no regrets, even though he wants this more than he has wanted anything or anyone in a long time. Then as they proceed to make their way to the hotel room he had reserved, they can't resist getting started a little early ...
The next morning Scarlett wakes up first and proceeds to get dressed, as she now feels awkward because she just doesn't do one night stands and she is not sure what all of the protocals. She continues to get ready and then Zach wakes up. He accuses her of leaving him and what can she say? It was true, but then Zach jokes with her and puts her at ease. The only time Zach was serious was when he asked if she had any regret, which she didn't. Then Scarlett pumped up his ego when she admitted that he was best she had had in a long time. He grins and approaches her. Zach admits the same to her and said that he thought it could be because it was her - Scarlett. She then admitted that she knew now why women chased him. Zach smiled and then proposed that they could do it again to continue to comfort each other. Then she asked for how long? Jokingly she said if it is a thing of convenience, then if after a year they could get married, be each other's booty calls, and live separate lives. Zach said they could be roommates, he had lost his previously when he moved in with his girlfriend, plus Zach could make it worth her it for her ...
I am going to stop there so I don't accidentally provide any spoilers or twists in the story.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I discovered Summer Cooper's books a couple of years ago and I have loved every single one of them. She is, without any doubt, one of my favourite authors as she can really pull on my heart strings, she can make me laugh out loud and I get so engrossed in the great storylines that I forget everything but what's going to happen next. This book is no different. We meet best friends Zach and Scarlett. She has had bad luck with relationships whilst he is an , upfront, player and never sees anyone more than once. At a wedding they get rather drunk and end up having a passionate night that was beyond their wildest expectations, so they agree to be friends with benefits. Life is good when a spanner is dropped into the works when he gets moved to Tokyo and they are both devastated but don't admit to their feelings. No spoilers from me, but let's just say that this is where things get even more interesting. When a secret is revealed what will happen to their relationship or is it all over as Zach has left? A fantastic story which is going to have to be my favourite of hers now. I admit that I did feel as if I needed to bang their heads together as they both couldn't see how they felt for one another. They were both scared and overwhelmed by their passion for each other. Beautifully penned by Summer who drew me into the story at page one and kept me there till I'd read the whole contents which includes the fabulous bonus stories too.I received an arc of this book and voluntarily leave my honest review of it here. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED. I will be re-reading these stories so I bought the book too. I discovered Summer Cooper's books a couple of years ago and I have loved every single one of them. OMG! OMG! This is by far my favorite Summer Cooper book yet!!!! What an amazing read! Bravo Summer! Bravo!
In this story Scarlett is attending the next to the last friend to get married wedding. She is a little upset that she just can't seem to keep a relationship. As she is wallowing in pity her last single friend Zach is trying to comfort her and keep her from breaking down.
Zach feels bad for Scarlett. She is so sweet and kind. He can't quite figure out why she is still single. He has always had a thing for her, but the stars never seem to line up. When he arrived at the wedding with no date and found her single as well, well let's just say he jumped on the chance to spend time with her.
After a hot night of intense passionate sex Scarlett wakes and tries to sneak out to avoid awkwardness. Zach of course catches and confronts her. When they talk they decide to make a pact. Friends with benefits and if that doesn't change then they will get married in a year. Easy Peasy right??
For a couple of weeks things are going amazing until bad luck strikes. Zach's job transfers him to Tokyo. What now? Do they break up? When a month or so goes by and Zach talks more and more about his co-worker Abigal, Scarlett gets upset. Things are not going well. Will our hot sexy duo get their happily ever after? Or will Abigal ruin it all?
So I will start by saying that I love the main characters Zach and Scarlett. They are so much fun and entertaining. Not to mention they are both stubborn as hell. It was getting so frustrating there for a moment. I just wanted to scream at Zach to get his head out of his ass.
This book was so emotional. There were times when I was biting my nails with worry for Scarlett and then screaming with frustration with over Zach. Not to mention the ugly crying. Seriously! I could not hold the water works in. I could talk about this book for hours, but I promise my author friends to try and not put in any spoilers in my reviews. Damn it!!
I can honestly tell you that Summer Cooper is an amazing author. She has several books out that are in the top 100 on Kindle. Her stories really just seem to come alive. They are so realistic, yet hot and sexy. They are never rushed and her characters are always developed perfectly. She has this way of writing that draws the readers into the story and you can't help but fall in love. If you have not read any of her books, then I highly suggest you start. You will not be disappointed.
Thank you to Giselle Lumas for providing me with a free copy of this audiobook in return for an honest review.
Worth the Time is a coming of age story that follows Lindsey, a young girl trying to find herself as she changes from a teen to an adult. Lindsey is a lonely girl who has never met her father and isn't particularly close with her mother. When sent to a shelter for her community service, Lindsey meets Sutton and finds out that her life isn't actually so tough.
The Good Stuff I really liked the balance between Lindsey's story of meeting her father and slowly building a relationship with Sutton. The backstory of Lindsay's father was really interesting and he was really likable.
The narrator, Giselle was very right for this story, she had a very calming voice and kept the dialogue flowing very well, even at points when it seemed to be a little forced and badly written.
Sutton was a really likable character. I'm so used to reading the shy girl falls for the popular boy but not so much the other way around. It was really interesting to read.
Not My Cup of Tea As mentioned above, some of the dialogue didn't really seem to flow, the narrator did a great job of making it work but I think had I been reading it I may have given up because it just didn't seem natural.
When I read the write up for this story I wasn't aware that it was a Christian fiction. I don't really mind a character having a religion - whether it's Christian, Jewish, Muslim...it adds to the character. This one, however, really went to town with teachings. After about halfway I was getting sick of hearing the word Jesus, Preacher and God. It was more or less the word out of every character's mouth. This story would be perfect for someone who is a lot more interested in the Christian religion but for me, it did get very long and very annoying.
Overall Rating The story that followed Lindsey was quite nice and well split between meeting her dad and learning more about Sutton. However, I did get very tired of the Christian talk and probably wouldn't have gotten so frustrated with the book had I known that it was very Christian themed. It would definitely be well suited as Young Adult Christian fiction, but it's just not for me.

This was a quick, hot, well written read. The banter between the Zach and Scarlett was great.
Scarlett is getting over yet another heartbreak. She just can’t seem to find the one man who will stick with her. She is definitely not a one-night stand kind of girl, but when her friend, Zach, offers to try to help her feel better by spending the night together she decides to go for it. There is no way she will fall for player extraordinaire Zach.
When relationship phobic Zach offers one night of no strings attached sex to Scarlett, he didn’t count on wanting more of her, even though he has been attracted to her for years. The two decide that a secret friends with benefits arrangement might work for them, which is perfect for Zach because it means he still gets to have sex with Scarlett without making a commitment to her.
In true Scarlett fashion, she quickly begins to have feelings for Zach, not knowing that he may be developing feelings for her too. Not too long into their arrangement, Zach is transferred to Tokyo for his job. Although they aren’t in a real relationship, they are both hit very hard by this news as they have grown accustomed to being with one another.
Scarlett’s insecurities, jealousy, and her confusion about where she and Zach stand relationship-wise lead to a huge blow up between them while he is away. Zach tries repeatedly to contact Scarlett over the next few months, but she will not answer him.
Meanwhile, Scarlett gets some life changing news and doesn’t know what to do about it. She should tell Zach, but after their argument she doesn’t want to talk to him. Besides, he is a player who doesn’t want to be tied down, so why would he care about her news? When she finally gives in and attempts contact, he ignores her.
Will Scarlett and Zach find their way back together? Will they continue as friends or will there be more between them? Or will the insecurities, jealousy, lack of communication, and secrets spell the end of something that had just started?
The hero in this book… I can’t even…. Here’s the breakdown: MMC/FMC- Zach and Scarlett POV- 1st person dual Genre- Contemporary Romance Heat- they do the thing and name the parts. Series? I couldn’t tell. Safety: nope. There’s another woman (he claims it’s not cheating, but he’s an idiot.) No sharing, no S. Violence, no cliffhanger. HEA. Triggers- Explicit Erotic Content, Language, Bridesmaid Dresses. Tropes- Friends to Lovers, Friends with Benefits, One Night Stand, Wedding Hookup, Secretly Part of the Pudding Club, Accidental Pregnancy.
Pop Quiz: 1) when you want a relationship even though you’re friends with bennies, do you: a) talk to him about your feelings and expectations Or b) keep it a secret and hope your bed partner will figure it out?
2) when you hear your FWB is Up the Duff, do you: a) assume that she’s pregnant with another man’s child and refuse her phone calls Or b) consider the fact that you were Doing the Thing with her around the time of conception and ask her about it?
3) when you’re feeling butthurt do you a) talk to them about it and give them an opportunity to explain? Or b) completely ghost them on all forms of communication? And do you c) start leading another woman on because you’re lonely, she’s handy, and you want to get back at your girl Or alternatively d) refuse to tell him that you’ve got a bun in your oven and it’s his?
The main characters think b, a , b (plus c or d). This whole book would have been a lot shorter and less full of angst if the author hadn’t relied on the old (and overdone) non communication trope. All of the angst and tension could have been totally avoided by some, idk, talking instead of acting like they were in middle school. And the ending is happy because baby. Everyone knows that a baby fixes every relationship.
I can’t even with these people. This is a mixed bag of ugly.

Scarlett isn't the type of woman for a one night stand but when everyone she knows is either getting married, married or dating someone she feels lonely and hooks up with Zach. Zach has always had a thing for Scarlett but hasn't felt like he was relationship kind of guy so he didn't do anything about it. However when he sees how upset she is at a friends wedding he sets out to cheer her up and they not only end up in bed but make an agreement to get married next fi they both are still single. Zach didn't take the agreement serious yet he did want to keep hooking up with Scarlett. When work tells him he has to go overseas for work Zach's not sure what that means for them. Scarlett tries to be optimistic about it but when she sees his attractive co worker going with him it sends her mind reeling. Zach had no plans of being with anyone while he was gone but when Scarlett started questioning him it upset him enough that he reminded her that they weren't in a relationship. One statement was all it took to separate Zach and Scarlett and he regretted it the moment he said it but he couldn't take it back. Will Zach fix things with Scarlett before its too late?
This was an emotional story I felt like there were a lot of misunderstanding that kept them from admitting what they were too each other. Zach and Scarlett both had been hurt so they had some issues with how to handle each other without cause more problems. I read this book in one setting I couldn't stop turning pages even while mumbling out loud about how stupid the characters were being. I really enjoyed this book as I have liked previous books I've read by Summer Cooper and recommend you pick it up if you haven't read anything by her yet.

Scarlett wants a HEA in her life, but no man seems to stick. And while she's happy for her friends who have found their HEA's, she's very upset when she's once again a bridesmaid, never a bride. So that leads her to going home with one of her best friends, Zach, to hook up. She knows it's a bad idea, as he's a major player, but she can't seem to help herself. After the best night of their lives, they make an friends with benefits agreement. However, she can't help the feelings that are developing, but when his job sends him to Tokyo, he leaves Scarlett behind. Things soon go sideways, as Zach is spending a lot of time with a colleague, & talking about her too much to Scarlett, so when she says something, he lets her know in plain words that they aren't anything but hook up buddies, which really hurts her, so she cuts him out of her life. But then she gets the surprise of her life, and all of a sudden, she can't get a hold of him, so she has to move on with her life. That was way more than I wanted to say, but this book took something that started out simple, and many complications arose. I'm team Scarlett all the way, so I wanted to junk punch Zach over and over again. His douchey decisions still have me mad at him big time. He knows that their chemistry is off the charts hot, & when it explodes they set the sheets on fire with sexy times, while there are feelings under the surface. And the cast of secondaries are comedic relief that give me a break from the angst more than once. With a surprise twist & two that kept the f-bombs dropping loud & proud, this was an addictive read. Summer Cooper has a very talented writing style that drew me in, & kept my attention to the end! I cannot wait to read more by her, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Poor credibility and maturity of characters and just an overall anemic plot line.
Length: Novella actually.
Angst: Some but rather high school-ish.
Speed of Action: A little rushed towards the end.
Predictability: Rather predictable, especially at the end.
Credibility issues: Oh, yeah. No Ob/Gyn would allow a woman that far advanced in pregnancy out in the winter time on icy sidewalks 1-2 weeks prior to her expected date of confinement. And what irks me is exactly how many months pregnant is she? When I tried to analyze the time line, it doesn't make sense.
Grammatical and spelling errors: There were more than a few spelling errors and sentences in which a few critical words were missing. Obviously, no editor. This does NOTHING for the professionalism of the writer.
Would I reread this novella? No. Not necessarily a waste of time, but if I knew then what I know now, I probably would have read something else.
I wish this story could had been longer, but I doubt any decent lengthening would have made this story better. I wish the characters could had been a more developed. I which was the story was more mature. This reminds me of a young adult premise with an NR rating.
There are additional reading material after this, but I couldn't even get through the first chapter. An alleged office gatekeeper who appears more like a coffee girl and starts talking about company gossip which had a direct impact on corporate finances? I'd fire her ass in a second! I don't care if that person was a stockholder or whatever. You do not say things like that! Company classified! Geez, Cooper! Have you ever worked in a government contract company? You could learn some things there.
You will not put it down till you finish it, so make sure you have the time! This is an exiting book about friends turn lovers and later realized that they love each other. You cannot go wrong with this one, it has it all.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Can I just say that Summer nailed it. This was a story with great characters, amazing chemistry, great friendships and just the right amount of naughtiness. Scarlett is at her friend's wedding and is miserable, until Zach makes her dance with him. They get rather cozy and one thing leads to another and they decide to move from friends to friend's with benefits. Things heat up for them and it looks like Scarlett wants more than just that, and he is afraid of it. They agreed if in a year neither one are dating it married, they would marry each other. Unfortunately Zach's job takes him out of the country for an undermined amount of time. They talk regularly, but Zach seems to always mention his coworker Abigale. Scarlett freaks and they fight. He tries to get in touch but she won't return his messages. Not feeling very well, Scarlett is wondering if it's a bug, until she over hears a conversation about being pregnant and notices she had the same symptoms. After getting a test, it's hard to believe she is expecting Zach's baby. How to tell him? She hides from her friends and avoids the question of who the father is. Unfortunately one of their friends let it slip she is pregnant, but the guess wrong on the father, making Zach ticked. When she does try to get in touch base he won't answer her now. Will it resolve itself out will Scarlett have the baby in her own with Zach our of the picture or will they reconcile? You got to read it.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Zach and Scarlett are good friends who decide to hookup. They both have the best sex ever BUT, it's only for fun because Zach isn't into relationships. They have a great time together for 2 weeks and then Zach is sent to Tokyo for work for awhile. Scarlett tries to be supportive and low-key until she sees who is going with him---Abigail. The woman oozes sexuality and definitely has her eyes on Zach! Scarlett feels jealousy for this friends with benefits relationship!!! What's going on? Okay, things get worse because when Zach does Skype all he does is talk about Abigail - but he says it's because he spends time with her and she speaks Japanese. He coldly tells Scarlett he owes her nothing because they have no relationship. Then he can no longer reach Scarlett by phone or text for several months. He hears some incredible news several months later from a mutual friend after calling and asking about Scarlett, gets hurt and angry. When Scarlett decides to communicate finally with Zach NOW to explain, HE won't answer. Both incredibly stubborn people with a slew of friends that care. Christmas is coming and Zach and Abigail return to New York for the holidays. Scarlett and Zach's friends have their annual party. Who will be there? What will happen? Are feelings too hurt and are the the pain and anger too great to be overcome? Is there any chance for a friendship, let alone an HEA for these former friends? Read this captivating story.
I admit it. I’m a sucker for friends to lovers stories. They’re just so much fun, and this one is no exception! Zach and Scarlett light up this book with their “I-know-you-inside-and-out” banter as well as their sweltering passion. The amazing part to me is how Summer Cooper manages to make Zach’s original proposition work for more than a one night stand. This wouldn’t have worked well with an average author, but Ms Cooper shows her prowess and makes it look flawlessly easy here.
Zach’s got a lot going for him. He’s beyond yummy, but he just doesn’t do relationships and he’s always open about that. Scarlett’s pretty much the opposite. She only throws herself into relationships. Sadly, they always seem to be bad ones. Hence, Zach’s amazingly smooth proposition (I won’t even try to condense THAT masterpiece—just read it yourself).
Just when things seem to be going pretty well for our friends to lovers, real life throws a couple of pretty significant curve balls. I hate when that happens. Now Zach and Scarlett get stupid. There are miscommunications—we all know how those can happen. But stubbornness, pride and circumstances just snowball into more trouble than either of them is prepared for. It’s heartbreaking because these two are beautiful together.
The characters here are nicely developed; not just the main characters, but peripherals as well. The plot is well done with good pacing. It’s easy to get drawn into Zach and Scarlett’s world and to feel what they feel. The author has done an excellent job with this awesome read.
Friends to Lovers Scarlett and Zach have been friends for years and have attended many wedding god of their mutual friends and both are getting tired of it. They decide at the reception of one of these weddings to leave together and have a one night stand.
Was that smart of them and what if something goes wrong or one develops feelings. They find that they can not get enough of each other and become friends with benefits and when things are going good. Zach is sent to Tokyo for his job.
Their is some miscommunication and Scarlett keeps and very important secret from him she doesn't even answer his calls. When it does come out what this secret is Zach is furious and thinks Scarlett betrayed him and he now knows that he loves her, but he wants to hurt her like she did him, but what Zach thinks is not true.
If only Scarlett picked up the phone and manned up maybe this would have not occurred. But as the reader I also understand why she was hesitant. I would have been too. Will the real truth come out? Will Zach and Scarlett both admit their true feelings for each other.
I enjoyed this story even when some parts made me mad like Zach's assumptions and what he did to get back at Scarlett instead of talking to her. This was a must read for me and I will be reading this one again i the very near future. I absolutely love a good friends to lovers romance.
Another winning book to read by Summer Cooper. Scarlett and Zach are friends and they are unhappy in love to say the least. Scarlett cannot seem to find the right guy and Zach had his heart broken and decided sex was all he needed from women. Well seeing how unhappy his friend Scarlett was at their friend's wedding he decided to see how far he could go to make her evening end on a happy note. Not expecting her to accept his offer of no strings attached sex he presses even further by suggesting that in a year if they have not found their happy ever after that they would get married. Scarlett took this to mean something and because she did when Zach called to tell her, after they had a few sleepovers and a date, that he was moving to Japan for work she was crushed. Scarlett being Scarlett played it off like it was no big deal when it indeed was. Zach didn't know how he felt about her not seeming to care but he wasn't happy about it. Over the time he was gone, they tried to stay in touch but each call seemed to talk more about what he and Abigail did that jealousy reered it's ugly head and Scarlett let it be known. Zach shot back by saying she knew what the deal was and that seemed to end what was left of their friendship. But even though they are on two different continents fate has a different plan for them. Like it or not, these two will need to grow up real fast.
There is drama and a happy ending. I recommend this book.
