Prepare for a gripping story that will send you on rollercoaster of emotion; you won’t want to put it down. The characters are complex, believable, and seem so real that it’s easy to forget they are characters in a book. The author seamlessly tells the story from multiple points of view giving a more comprehensive story. This is truly a great story and and a great series.
The prologue did a fantastic job of hooking my attention and setting the stage for things.
I am always ready to dive into another of Shuler's books. I just hope my emotions can handle this one.
Derek was such a strong character and I was very excited for him to get the spotlight in this book.
By Chapter Five, Shuler was doing that thing she always does - getting my adrenaline pumping.

This is another great read in the Shattered series, we have watched these two grow up going through so much and finally when they find their own and try to start a life together things take a tailspin leaving them in danger that could lead to death. The author touches on a topic that is dear to our heart, it is so much in the news, in our schools, in our lives. Wow. What an amazing addition to the Shattered Lives series. This way the first book focused on some of the younger characters and it did not disappoint. I laughed, cried, screamed, and sometimes asked WTF! The author has done an amazing job showing the struggles two young people face with love, family and life. This was definitely a great continuation In the series, and I’m happy to see this author does a great job of portrayed younger characters. The love story of Derek and Lana was beautiful-and Lana, much like other characters in the series went through some torment, this time with bullies. She vows to blend into the background but that’s hard for her to do when she catches the eye of Derek, someone who vows to protect her at all costs.

Wow! This is the fourth book in the Shattered Lives series and true to its name, there are some very dark goings on.
Once again I loved the characters and I loved that these books each focus on someone different in the same group of friends. So you get updates on the lives and doings of the characters you've read about previously.

Barb Shuler is such a fantastic author, she comes up with such unique stories. Even if its something that's been done, her unique take on things makes her books so special. They really stand out and make you think. I find myself thinking about her books and characters long after I've finished a book. This story was no exception. This was a interesting story. And how it ties in with the other books from series. I couldn't put it down.
I loved Derek, he loves his family and friends. He doesn't let his past get to him. He is selfless. He helps out everyone.

This book focuses on the younger generation. Derek is growing up into amazing young man from where he came from. And Lana is blossoming and getting braver. And now with what Lana is being faced with she's going to need all the love from her family and friends she can get. Barbs books just continue to get better and better. Can't wait to read book 5!

this was another amazing book you wrote! its the fourth book in this series. its about a young man who finds his happily ever after with the girl of his dreams. some people are trying to take her out. he will fight anyone that tries to harm her even if it costs him his life!
4th great book in this series! we all fell in love with Derek and Lana from the other books in this series and that love continued while reading their story. Barb knows how to write about an alpha male and a strong female character....love all the characters in this series

I knew this one was going to be so good! Derek has been my favorite from the start. He's young, but I love his sense of humor and his smarts. His love for Lana is amazing. This book was different from the rest in the series. Not as....hmmm... gruesome maybe. Still a lot of action and things that make you wanna rip someone to pieces for the ugly vile things people can do. On to the next one!
