I thought this book was excellent at introducing chemistry to someone that fears chemistry.

I read this as a refresher. I am 67 and it is some years since I did my Biology degree. Now that I am retired, I intend to read more biology books. I thought this chemistry introduction would be a good place to start refreshing my knowledge. It is a good basic book for the beginning of biology studies at an advanced level. It is not in depth, but a good, easy place to start. It has managed to bring back a lot of information into my brain that I had not thought about or used for some time.

Spends a good deal of time doing review and little explaining the material. Less biochem content then I expected

I think the answer key should be in the back of the book. otherwise it makes it hard to try and figure it out if the answer is right there next to the question. Also I would like a bit more explanation on some of the things, Particularly the answers. Other than that, good chemistry book.

I got this book for a college chemistry course I took. The book was pretty easy to follow, and it had fill in the blank questions.

As the title demonstrates, this is basic chemistry understandable by students who are not majoring in chemistry.
