He hated everyone. Even her. A burning rage brought on by a pivotal moment in Bartholomew's life buried itself deep into his heart, transforming him into someone else entirely. His only salvation is when the Provincial General of the realm, Kato, whisks him away aboard his ship as he patrols the twelve kingdoms to ensure peace. Kato is determined to rid Bartholomew of his anger and bring back the man he was. Two years later, Bartholomew only wants her forgiveness. But everyone has secrets. Even Kato. A journey into The Dark Forest of Mimas endangers the happiness of both men as they attempt to eliminate the threat of the undead to the realm.
I have always lived in the deep south, Arkansas, and grew up in a very rural area. Some of that you will see that I have incorporated into my books. I like the small town and rural area feel of things. I am married to a wonderful husband and have four fantastic kids and two rambunctious dogs. My days are busy and hectic because I am a stay-at-home mom, but I love it! Writing is just one of the things I am passionate about! I also love to read and have always enjoyed art.
What I write: a little bit of everything. I love writing about vampires, mafia families, magic, and more! My favorite is writing strong female characters!
Kato and Bartholomew were introduced in the first story and now they get theirs. As kato tries to save the provinces from another evil with Bartholomew, Bartholomew is trying to be worthy of the woman he hurt 3 years prior. Throughout the story both characters are at odds with women they love trying to find a way to make it work. Kato is in love with someone not of his social standing, and Bartholomew is in love with the mother of us child, a woman he raped. I wasn’t sure how any of their issues would be resolved. The Author did a great job keeping us glued to the pages with hope and fear for these characters lives and loves. I can’t wait to see who is next.
What an amazing continuation from book one. You get to read Kato and Bartholomew’s stories. I was begging Bree for more of Kato, I fell in love with him in book one and just needed more. To also to get to read about Bartholomews family was amazing. The trials they face. It’s a roller coaster ride of emotions. If you read Anastasia and King Dejen’s Story in book one, you definitely need to continue with this book. I highly recommend any all of Bree’s books.
