This debut novel by Everly Lucas deserves all the laudation and applaud I can heap on it. Besides being expertly written, the author penned a story that was captivating, sweet and had an unconventional ending that I ADORED.

I came across this novel, by receiving an email from the author. And yes, as a book blogger we get these emails every single day. The difference with this email, that made me pick up the book, was that the author would have been totally fine with me if I just read the book - w

I dived into this book blindly with no idea of the blurb , beyond the fact it was a romance that was a slow build. It was that but also so much more....

Claire is our heroine and she is an intriguing character. I felt as though I really got to know her over the course of the book. In the first chapter I wasn't so keen on her- I think she was maybe a bit too much in her own head but having said that it was interesting to watch her grow and to see all the layers she wore to please

Everly Lucas’ debut novel left me on the edge of my seat. I found myself laughing, crying, and cheering on the characters like I was watching a sporting event and not reading a book. I didn’t just fall into this story, I dived in head-first and fell in love with every character along the way.

Claire, the sweet redhead with a fiery streak, brought me into her world within the first page and I didn’t want to leave. She is the heroine whose story I always wanted to read. Her haunting past and caged,

I'll be brief, because this is just the draft of the review, but I felt that since I'm so late to review this ARC, it could not wait anymore.

First, this book was very well-written. It surprised me, because it's a debut. So chapeaux for that, miss Everly.

Secondly, this book had some serious hotness to it, but also sweetness, and the two were well-balanced. I did not know a key fact regarding the trope of the book before going in and it did surprise me when I started seeing the sign. And even thou

I’ve been on a binge lately with reading new-to-me or debut authors. After reading the blurb, I jumped at the chance to read this book. I went into this book expecting one thing, but I got something entirely different, which isn’t a bad thing. It’s refreshing to be caught off guard every once in awhile.

We meet our heroine, Claire, as she’s suffering through a blistering heat wave with no A/C. She decides to head to the park, where she catches the eyes of our heroes. One kind of shy, one kind of

I found out about this book thanks to my book blog & had the chance to promote the book and I love checking new authors, I enjoy Everly's writing style. I love the park scene, too hilarious ... Andy's pitbull "Canoli" .. drooling all over Claire. Do they really have apartments these days without windows or ACs? really? I know as a kid we did not have AC only fans. attic fans. So I have been there done that. But i have not imagine not having a window, that seems cruel. I think for me the characte ...more

I'd like to say I was gifted with the honor of beta reading this story, but honestly, by the time it got to me, it felt pretty dang perfect and complete. I think most of feedback I gave went a little something like, "Wow, that's good," and "OMG, too funny, I love this," and "Fans! I need more fans because this is sooooo hot!" (Literally and figuratively! LOL)

So yeah, I loved this story. It was just so enjoyable to read! I loved Claire. Being in her head was fun and yet insightful. And Ben...oh,

Great debut novel, just wanted a bit more of her doing the overcoming part of her "no touch" aversion, the fix seemed quick! And more Andy, more Andy with Claire, more Andy with Ben, I didn't get as attached to him as I could have. Looking forward to more from this author though! ...more

There's so much to love about Everly Lucas' debut "Learning to Love The Heat!"
Claire is my kind of girl. A sweet, romance fic reading, Philadelphian, who loves re-runs of The Golden Girls. Then there's Ben. Oh la la, Ben! A sweet, man bun wearing, swoon worthy, half-Frenchie. And then of course, there's Andy. The button pushing best-friend, and foil to Ben and Claire. Everly Lucas reals you in with her command of her plot and fully realized characters, and takes her ti

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. This is a standalone novel and does feature sexual content.

Claire is a book loving, big chested red head that absolutely hates her apartment. She's unable to have air conditioning due to living in a basement level apartment. That's how she meets Ben, who is taken with her and almost knows she's the one within a few minutes.

Claire doesn't like to have physical contact with men due to her past. Andy pushes her limits, he's the complete oppos

Review: There are so many things I loved about Everly Lucas' debut novel: Learning to Love the Heat.

1. I could completely relate to Claire's issues with air conditioning (or the lack of air conditioning). I am a firm believer next to indoor plumbing, air conditioning is Humankind's best inventions.
2. The love for Dr. Pepper - you either love it or hate it. I am right with Claire that coffee is a poor choice

Note: This review is for an ARC and is my unbiased opinion.

I agreed to reading Learning to Love the Heart after reading the blurb and checking out the ratings on Goodreads. I wish that I had read some of the reviews a little closer. Everly Lucas' writing was exceptional, but this really wasn't the book for me. Here's why...

The blurb had me thinking love triangle. Those aren't always my favorite, but every once in a while there's a great one. It helps when I can determine a clear winner early on

During a scorching hot summer in Philadelphia, Claire Templeton does anything to avoid spending time at her basement, no A/C hellhole of an apartment. That’s how she ends up at a park and meets Ben Cohen and his best friend Andy DelVecchio, two very attractive and accomplished men that will change life as she knows it.
Claire has some crippling issues that don’t allow her to move on from her past, Ben is a loving, patient man who is sure she’s meant to be part of his life and Andy is a strong alp

This book went on path I wasn't anticipating, but one that I'm so happy it went. Claire has a inner struggle with her true self. It was so great to see her blossom and have the support to do so. When best buddies Andy and Ben set her in their sights her life will forever change. Problem is each guy draws a different attraction/feeling from her. How is she going to choose? The guys' friendship will be tested. It's a great read that has a emotional punch. It also brings the heat! I loved the epilo ...more

This book took me a little to get into. I was waiting to see why Claire had such an aversion to being touched. I can't remember the exact phobic term. And it wasn't what I was expecting. But I did keep reading the story because I wanted to find out if Ben or Andy was who Claire would choose. Ben was the solid rock in her life that knew she was for him once he saw her. But Claire's visceral reaction to Andy made me think he was sort of a better, more explosive match for her.

Possibly a spoiler bu

Ummm what did I just read?? This was definitely not what I expected AT ALL. Guess I should have read into the reviews a bit more....this was not the angst ridden love triangle I was expecting. THIS was a straight up threesome.

The heroine Claire started off flinching from a simple man's touch to being down for whatever with these two men. The switch was too sudden for my liking but I guess they were all in love with each other so ok...That is all I will say on this one...

Credevo fosse un contemporary romance, ma non lo è! È un erotico travestito da romance!
(E anche se la scelta di Andy e Ben è anche una delle mie fantasie erotiche, il finale mi ha deluso)

This book burned hotter than the title! This slow burn builds up to a stellar ending. The characters made me fall in love over and over again. My heart bled for them. Loved this book! If you like erotic romance, this is a must read!

Can you fall in love with two men at the same time? Let me say, I completely loved the story of Claire, Ben and Andy. Both men were totally opposite of each other but that’s what made Claire fall more in love with them. Their love was unconventional at best. But love was love. The only thing that mattered was them and for them to be together forever.

When starting Learning To Love The Heat, I went in blind. With and open mind, you saw a dynamic of two best friends pining over a girl. Who was goi
