A great addition to J. S. Striker's best selling series!

Rule number one in trying to rekindle a friendship with a long-lost friend: act like her friend and nothing else.
Simon Alison always has his plan set out before him: complete as many missions as he can, help make the world a better place to live in, then settle someday with a fellow wolf shifter and run around the forest for the rest of his life. He likes things easy, and he likes following certain rules.

Until a certain witch comes back to his life.

Until said witch turns said life upside down.

She was a part of his past—and now she’s a part of his present, his mission and his suddenly aroused body all in one. It’s a disaster, really.

Except Simon isn’t sure if it’s one he wants to avoid or face with open arms…

***

Rule number one in trying to be the best witch in the world: never, ever be tempted by hot, dangerous men.
Robin Chesley always thought of Simon as the one friend she can always count on, and their years of separation never changed that for her. Imagine her shock when she meets him again and finds out that not all things stay the same.

The old Simon was kind, affable and sweet.

The new Simon is kind, dangerous and has the ability to burn her with a single touch.

She shouldn’t be thinking of him this way, especially when their mission requires focus more than anything else. But she can’t help it, and Robin has to learn the hard way that not all emotions go to plan—and not all friendships survive the kisses and touch of a man able to make her lose control…

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I got a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! I did buy my own copy of this book too!

The cover is a work of art! Love it!!

This is the 9th book in this series, and my favorite of the ones I’ve read so far. This book is for adults only due to the steamy content. The books can be read in any order, but I know I’m more connected to the characters having read the other books first.

This is Simon and Robin’s story. I always thought there was something there. This book has plenty of action, and the struggles of changing a friendship into a relationship. I enjoy the story and could not put it down. I don’t want to give anything away, but this is my favorite story in the series at this point.

I can’t wait to see what comes next! J.S. has me hooked on this series!

I highly recommend this book to any shifter/witch fan who love when worlds have a little of everything paranormal with a fantastic action driven story! I loved it!

ARC REVIEW

If I'm not mistaken this is book 9 in the Clan Legacy series by J. S. Striker. I like the premise of the whole Clan Legacy series, the different shifters working together while maintaining a peace treaty with the witches and vampires. I was able to read the first four in the series and book 8 before reading this one, both Erik (book 8) and Simon can be read as standalones. Simon had some brief appearances in books 3 and 4 I liked that he was brought back and has a story of his own.

Simon and Robin worked as teens (young adults??) training together. They each had their own dream Robin would become the best witch in the world and Simon would eventually find a nice wolf shifter to settle down with and have a parcel of kids running around. Several years down the line Robin is closer than ever to her goal and after another successful mission she's earned some time off to travel and the only person she wants to travel with is her old friend Simon. But when she gets to New York she is talked into working with Simon again. With another shifter, Jake, they go undercover in Japan where there target was last scene, but it's not as easy as rescuing a damsel in distress.

All grown up Simon is looking at Robin in a new light and even though she's undercover playing a part he still gets jealous at the attention she's getting from their suspect. Robin has been fighting her own feelings for Simon since she saw in again. They both think that it's not in their future to be together but one ill times potion on Robin and they give into the sexual desire.

Overall, I liked it. The characters were great and non- stop adventure. It was a very full book it seemed longer than what it was. The one thing that kinda bugged me and I didn't see this in any of the other book but some parts of it were very succinct, they weren't pertinent to the rest of the story it was just kind of summarizing what has happened, but it happened more than once and at those time it just seemed like it was more of telling me rather than showing me. The last it happened is the time it really bugged me. It could have gone to expand more on those events and get in a higher word count or cut it down more because those three paragraphs worth of events did nothing except tell why Robin was exhausted and too tired to defend herself. Other than that one part I really did enjoy the book and I look forward to reading the ones I missed and the ones to come, especially if it's Jake.

I received an ARC and voluntarily left a review.

I feel this book works really well as a stand-alone. Although there is some character cross-over with previous books (according to the blurbs) I didn't feel lost while reading this book.

I liked the connection between Simon and Robin. They have a history that started while they were still in training in their teens when they worked together. Even though Robin and Simon spent years apart, when they find themselves working together again they easily fall into old rhythms. I do wish we had gotten to see more of their earlier cases, just to get a better feel for the the background of their connection rather than being told about it.

The plot was okay, though there were some sections that I felt like I had to re-read (or even search further back in the book) to make sense of what was going on. I did find the Jake/Lucy plot to be a bit much for the length of the story (and is probably meant to setup a future story). While I like Jake and would look forward to reading his story, I think there should of been less of him and more with Simon/Robin.

Well this was ruined because he let another woman touch his probates and he actually got turned one. Doesn’t matter that it was a succubus. If he loved the main girl, his mate like the whole point of the book should be, that wouldn’t have happened. He doesn’t deserve her or a mate if his privates get turned on for any woman.

And I mean seriously. In the most important moment with his mate, this is written?!?!! “ He felt drunk on her, and he wanted more—so much more that he was afraid he was going to break her if he was done. Simon had women before, and he often indulged in sexual escapades that would make one’s eyes widen. He never ever failed to make those women scream out in pleasure before he took his own.”

RUINED! Makes me wanna burn the book knowing he slept with women after meeting his mate and was a playboy. This confirms he didn’t deserve her and this book did deserves something worse. I can’t stand when paranormal mates romances are twisted and ruined. Mates are completely loyal after first smelling their mate even if only in their teens.

This is a story I've been waiting for for a long time. Simon, a wolf shifter working for the Shifter Council, has loved Robin, a witch training with Red Denver, since their first mission. Only problem is neither one knows it. They have been apart for five years, learning their place in life. She comes looking for Simon to travel with her, after all they are best friends. I absolutely loved how they slipped into their old partnership ways of working together when she accidentally finds Simon on a mission. Did I mention that every mission Simon and Robin have been on is dangerous and possibly life threatening. I love Robin's magic and how she and Simon have such chemistry they are just perfect together, why does it take them so long to even consider that fact. I have loved every one of the Clan Legacy books, but since I first met thee two, this is the story I have been waiting for. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

This is part of the Clan Legacy Series by J.S. Striker, but don't let that put you off as this can easily be read as a standalone or as part of the complete series. For those who have read the series like me, I remember Simon in prior episodes. The blurb is very true to the book. Robin wants to be the best witch ever and her friend Simon, from long ago, just wants to settle down with a wolf shifter and enjoy family life. Having not seen each other in a few years they are taken aback by the sizzling passion they feel for one another. On a mission together, Simon becomes jealous and has difficulty hiding it. Robin also is having trouble keeping her desires for him in check. Who will give in first? This is a really fun read and story that I enjoyed immensely and look forward to the next story. I received an arc of this book and voluntarily leave my honest review of it here.
DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED.

Simon and Robin work well together. They haven't seen each other in years and their reunion causes them to realize their is a strong attraction. Working together again makes them question all their plans.

I like this shifter/witch combination. They both have a lot of strengths and take some real risks in their work to help others. Simon enjoys all kinds of women but thought he would settle with a shifter. His growing feelings for Robin change that for him. She has been devoted to developing her magic and now considers wanting more. They don't want to lose their friendship but the attraction is hard to ignore.

You definitely feel the chemistry and I enjoyed the story. It has a good mix of romance and action. I would love to read more about the characters.

Talk about a good woman to mess up all your life plans, Robin is a witch who has been friends with Simon and partnered with him on missions. She is back after 5 years, and she is now a grown woman, but Simon has grown too. I liked the love story between these two, because just like my husband and I, these two were best friends that turned into love. I think the cover could have been done differently, because it doesn't really reflect who Simon is, but somehow gives off a false impression. Don't let the cover stop you, because the story is action packed and you will love the characters Simon and Robin.

Reunion

It was good to reunite Simon and Robin. It has been at least 5 years since they went there separate ways to improve their individual skills. Simon is has grown in to a sexy dangerous agent.

Robin has increased her to become a powerful young witch.

When they meet again it is almost like no time has passed. Getting the chance to work together again will bring its own set of problems and feelings. Seriously enjoyed this story would like to see more of them in future stories.

I have voluntarily read and reviewed this book with no requirement to do so.

This book can be read as part of the series or as a standalone. I have only read one book of this 9 part series which was Mate Hunt in which I totally enjoyed as I did with this one as well. As I did not have the back history to fall onto I felt the author did a great job of giving us a wonderful story of friends to lovers. Young friendship and adventure will blossom into so much more even when they fight the feeling for each other. I received an ARC copy of this book and have voluntarily written my honest review. A real page-turner that will have you hooked from the start.

Not too long ago witches and shifters were enemies, but now they work together to make the world safer. She’s a young witch and he’s a young shifter. They’ve worked together for three years but now they are going their own ways to follow their dreams. Five years later fate will bring them back together and now they will fight a worse evil then I either has fought before. The relationship between the two is great and the friendship seems so easy. Watching them five years later will keep you guessing what will happen.

Great story. This is a fun, exciting, suspenseful, action packed romance. They are together when younger and training. Then life takes them separate ways. When they come back together years later for a mission they have both changed. And that brings up a lot of questions besides the mission they are on. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.

Another great book by J.S. Striker. This The Clan Legacy Series is very very good. The stories are well written, interesting and intriguing. They blend together as if one long story. This book made me excited to find out what will happen next in the series.

I was thrilled that Simon and Robin got their story. Simon and Robin were completely oblivious to their feelings for each other. It took several near death experiences for them to realize they really didn't want to lose one another.

This particular addition to the series fell flat for me. The characters weren't very engaging and it felt superficial. It was an okay read.

Simon. Another great read added to the Clan Legacy. This book was intense and dangerous for Simon as well as Robin. They take on tough demons as well as witches that are trying to take over the world. Separate they can't fight them off, but because Simon feels a closeness when together that he sets out to make sure Robin is safe. He feels the mission in Japan is not over and goes to check on Robin. He was right and showed up just in time to save her. This time he decides to let her know how he feels and not let her go. It was a love story in the end. Good read! *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***
