The House at Saltwater Point
The dangerous beauty of Lavender Tides is harboring secrets that reach around the world.
Ellie Blackmore is making a name for herself as a house flipper. But when her sister Mackenzie disappears, Ellie can’t focus on anything but uncovering what happened. Her only clue is the bloodstain on the deck of Mackenzie’s boat. Ellie knows her sister isn’t on the best of terms w...more
You know I’d do just about anything for you. Well, other than give up coffee. I wouldn’t do that for anyone.
Life wasn’t one long ribbon of known events. There were frayed areas he didn’t understand…
While the premise sounded promising and I do enjoy a diminutive and feisty hammer-wielding heroine, this story goes in So-So - Not Bad But Not Good pile. Maybe it’s me but I just wasn’t feeling it. I never experienced that rapturous, swept-away, plugged-in connection to the ...more
Ellie is a renovator - Hammer Girl is her blog name and the name that Grayson Bradshaw - coast guard officer likes to call her. As they both search for her sister - Mac, and try to u ...more
The high action suspense from Book 1 in the Lavender Tides series continues full on in Book 2. I would have given this book a 5, but I would like to have seen a stronger spiritual thread since this is considered Christian fiction.
Lavender Tides is harboring secrets that could affect the entire US. Ellie Blackshaw, a local house flipper, and Coast Guard Investigator, Grayson Bradshaw, connect when Ellie's sister, Mac, disappears and seems to be tied to the disappearance of a large shipm ...more
This story started off with the immediate disappearance of a character and I fell right into the investigation with Grayson and Ellie. I enjoyed the twists and turns of the story and look forward to conti ...more
But do you think Ellie figured that out in time to save this reader untold angst? Nope -- that girl is one stubborn spitfire who doesn't know what the word 'cautious' means. And 'backing down' isn't in her vocabulary either. I screamed myself hoarse trying t ...more
I did find that the book contained many characters, some who I thought were not important when they were first introduced in the book. Probably because they were not well developed. Then towards the end when these characters were drawn back into the story again I would have to do a search on my kindle to find out who they were. That was confusing and annoying for me although it might not be for o ...more
The main story though is about home renovator Ellie Blackmore and her missing sister Mackenzie. There are rumors aplenty for what happened to "Mac". Lots of peeling of the onion to get at what happened and I was surprised by the villain when ...more
Grayson was better. I did warm up to him quicker. He was kind. Grayson and Ellie did share some sparks but they were more sparklers than big fireworks. This story had some flaws ...more
This book, to me, while having amazing characters, started off too slow for me. It wasn't until about chapter 4 that I became fully engrossed and ...more
This book was amazing. So many twists and turns. I did not see the ending coming. I knew there was an HEA but not the way it turned out. The characters are well written, and believable. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Still a story with great characters, suspenseful plot, and really a good clean suspense read. Keeping these on my forever shelves because my daughter will enjoy these when she is older. Another good mystery story from this author!
I received this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
I loved every gripping, action filled page.
I can not wait to read Brenna's story and find out how that all ends.
You don't want to miss this series.
I gave this book 4 stars and I recommend this one to everyone.
The Mary Reader received this book from the publisher for review. A favorable review was not required and all views expressed are our own.
It was made very clear to me that this was a Christian fiction novel before I agreed to read it. I don’t read a ton of Christian fiction, but I don’t object to Christian fiction in the least—I am Catholic after all. But so ...more
Ms. Coble is a top-notch romantic suspense writer, and this is a sweet one, easy on the romantic tension, and easy on the murder even through there is some. I was so caught up in the story I forgot to try to figure out who-d ...more
This is my second read on the Lavender Tides series. The setting is peaceful but deadly, the characters seem simple but are complex. It seems fitting that Shauna and Zack from the first series spark the flame with Ellie and Grayson. Ellie a house flipper with a family tragedy in her past lives with guilt. A guilt that drives her with her current tragedy, the accusati ...more
Ellie Blackmore flips houses and is happy doing it. In fact, the next house she flips is her dream house and she intends to keep it as her own. Then her sister, MacKenzie goes missing and she begins to learn things about her that aren't all that pleasant. MacKenzie's boat has blood stains on it and she is believed to be dead. Mac's ex husband and she are on bad terms bu ...more
What I Liked: Both Grayson Bradshaw and Ellie Blackmore were both very likeable characters. I felt for Ellie as she felt like her sister Mac, was under attack and she constantly had to defend her—only to find that everything was not as it seemed with her sister. I also felt for Grayson as his world was turned upside down by the news that he was adopted and his ...more
