Petrone’s fast-paced, engrossing tale of what appears to be a serial killer mirroring of past atrocities shocks readers from the very start, simultaneously contrasting the modern-day murders of several children and their relatives with a long-ago massacre and child-abduction from homesteading families who were raided then wiped out by Native American tribesmen. The two storylines are intricately woven together, yet their relationship is expertly hidden from the reader until the very end as a ser ...more

Cycles of time is a gritty murder mystery that intertwines native folklore, crime-drama, and evil magic. One part of the story centers around Detective Hart, a driven investigator who refuses to allow cases to go cold and dream walks into her victims' futures. Another part of the story integrates the past, handing you a heart-wrenching story of pioneers attacked by Native Americans, that separate a mother and child. These two worlds come together to help stop a poetic serial killer that's fueled ...more

Like most suspense mystery writers, author K. G. Petrone must find catharsis in the other world she writes about, and the frightening discoveries that her two Pennsylvania cops - Jennifer Hart and Patric Jones - reveal, during the course of their investigation. A killer who defiles their victim, before leaving a puzzling note, not only tests the intellect and resourcefulness of the two officers, but it also reflects a killer who wants to be caught, although not too easily. With an ominous connec ...more

Full of historical references and intricate storytelling this story is sure to leave you turning pages to pinpoint the sinister and evil mastermind. As a fan of murder mystery and suspense thrillers, I found this book to be different than other stories in this genre. It was interwoven with the mythical and lesser known customs of ancient cultures all while leaving you on edge to determine some of the supernatural reoccurring events. If you're ready to be entertained, schooled a little, and throw ...more

Murder Mystery Across The Centuries

“So what I’m trying to say is, what if the world as we know it, is not all there is?"

Jennifer Hart is a detective investigating a series of gruesome child murders in modern day America with her partner Patric Jones. A couple of centuries before these crimes a pioneer woman, Victoria survives a massacre, but her daughter Sue Lee is captured and taken to be raised by the native people. These two story threads weave together over the course of the book until they

Cycles of Time-Revenge is Mine by K.G. Petrone is quite a wild ride. This book can be described as a crime mystery combined with a bit of Native American folklore. The plot follows two main storylines separated by hundreds of years. The first storyline takes place during our current time and follows Jennifer Hart, a detective investigating a string of serial child murders. The second storyline follows Victoria and her daughter Sue Lee during the American pioneer era. Sue Lee gets kidnapped by a ...more

Cycles of Time - Revenge is Mine is a good, refreshing treat on how an author can merge two different narratives into one seamless story. The story starts off with a murder mystery that Detective Hart must soon investigate, but she soon begins to realize that there might be supernatural elements being involved. In the other perspective, Victoria and Sue Lee must survive on the frontier from the dangers of the savages. And at every moment, things are not what they appear to be.

Overall, I liked th

This story was quite interesting from beginning to end. It had mystery and intrigue. I was exposed to some of the customs and beliefs of Native Americans. I was surprised when I found out who was doing all of the savage acts in the book. It also provides lessons that seeking revenge usually causes more heartache and it can just continue unless someone stops it. If you want a look at some of the believed spirits that make deals with mankind, this is an interesting book pointing to some of those m

Great Read

Mystery and intrigue as the Cycles of Time brings the past and present together - evil versus good. Was the 'demon' looking for revenge? Or was it seeking something more sinister? The author has a magnificent way of weaving in-and-out, like a spider when it makes its web. What was going on with detective Jennifer Hart? Why were her dreams so vivid? - or were they just dreams . . .?

This author has a way of delivering the thrills that keep you on a rollercoaster ride. My only difficulty with the book was the excessive use of exclamation marks throughout the book, it became so rattling, I had to set the book aside for a bit but I discovered when I picked it up the next time, my eyes simply pushed past them and went on with the story.

Not at all what I expected and so much more

I struggled with the first few chapters of the story but found after that nearly impossible to put down. And incredible work and something I would strongly recommend.

A fast-paced wonderful crime novel with a touch of mystical elements. The past and present come together in the cycle of time as the author weaves events of the past into the whys and hows of ongoing present murders. Children are being brutally murdered. Animals are being murdered. Are these two things related? Jennifer Hart and Patrick Jones are two detectives assigned to the case. They will have to put aside all reason and belief to solve this case. Loved it.
