I have read a couple of Max Lucado's books and my children have a few of his books too. We all here in my house like his writing style and how he shares about Jesus and God's Word. Now his writings are not deep in theology, but they are full of truth and wisdom. This new book is geared towards tweens and teenagers and my daughter happens to be a tween. Now I don't think she is quite ready to do this book on her own without my guidance, and that is OK, because it gives us a chance to do a study together! As a homeschool family, I plan to have my children do this as part of their Bible lesson time. This book would make for a great group study for teenagers!

Max Lucado writes about 30 go-to promises from God. These promises from God provide you with hope and truth you need to face problems, fears, and questions that they may be hearing from others. The book provides verse after verse of the promises from God, while sharing truth from the Bible, and personal stories. After each section, there are several questions to help them think through and apply these promises, with writing space to share their thoughts and answers. These chapters are short and easy to understand. The personal stories are great real-life examples of what many children face, so it is very relatable.

We all need hope, the kind of hope that gives true peace and the only place to find that is God's Word and having a relationship with Him. This book is helpful in pointing children to God's promises they need. Here are a few of those promises Max Lucado writes about:

A great author who shows the power in his writing. The author selects certain passages from the bible and uses them to help get is thoughts across to the reader. It is a very easy book to read, but it will have young minds thinking, possibly even wanting to open up to a discussion or a few. It is strongly faith based and would benfit the reader if they are believers in God.

UNSHAKABLE HOPE PROMISE BOOK (Student edition) is a book for students (Jr high and highschool) to study the promises of God. There are thirty different promises included in this book along with a mini-teaching lesson about the promise mentioned, several verses and thoughts about them, questions for the student to think about and answer, and an application.



This book would be excellent for the Christian homeschool student for a Bible class, for Sunday school classes or small groups for this age group, for Bible lessons in a Christian school, and more.



I like the study included in this book and it will really help the teen learn about God and His promises and His ability to keep them. My two daughters will be working through this book in our homeschool this school year.
