Brian and Cherie Lowe are down to earth, intelligent, and really raw about their experience but not so far out in left field that you don't feel you can relate. There were times I was laughing out loud and times I was shaking my head and shouting, "amen!" There were also times I realized that I simply had not thought through some of the situations and questions the authors posed. At first, I thought, "I'm not sure I'm the target audience on this. My husband and I don't argue about our finances a ...more

My husband and I are reading this one together and even after 21 years of marriage, we are learning so much! This book offers great suggestions about communication and connecting with one another! It is changing our marriage! I am buying this book for every engaged couple I know. I wish I had read it 20 years ago! Don't wait another day!

“Your Money, Your Marriage:...” is a great resource for married couples (or individuals) seeking financial and/or relational wisdom. The authors are a married couple and each section provides unique insight from both a husband and wife’s perspective. They openly share their stories of struggle (and success) and the intentional and sustainable changes they adopted to help their marriage and finances thrive. I found the content of the book to be practical (and humorous at times) and the discussion ...more

A real couple sharing real advice about money and marriage. Great stuff! Brian and Cherie share inspirational and entertaining stories about successes and failures in their own marriage and spell out practical action steps any married couple can use to get on the same page about money and strengthen their marriage bond.

Marriage and Money are 2 things in life that are not easy to talk about. Cherie and Brian share with you their struggles along the way. They offer suggestions and questions to help you open up to share with your spouse. While reading this book, I felt like we were sitting in same room like old friends sharing stories to help and offer encouragement in our own marriage and money matters.

This book will change your marriage - and your bank account! Cherie and Brian Lowe take turns writing sections so you get both a wife and a husband’s perspective. Lots of thought-provoking information about how the way you handle money affects your marriage and vice versa.

“Spending off budget breaches trust.” This is a quote from the book that shows how marriage and money are connected. This inspirational book has made my marriage stronger. Read it!

If you are needing a kick in the pants to get motivated to get you and your spouse on the same page with the budget, Brian and Cherie can do it! Both give their own anecdotes and what I loved most was that they were so relatable. I found myself laughing at stories from each of them or thinking, "Me too!" At various points. I didnt feel like I was being lectured though or having someone tell me to do something that, in reality, wasnt obtainable for the average Joe. Its best to surround yourself w ...more

"The ability to communicate clearly, remain organized, focus on shared priorities, handle conflict, and lead together well, removes barriers to a deeper and more intimate connection, allowing more room and desire for sex."

How are your finances looking?

How often do you and your spouse have sex?

Could there be two more awkward questions? For some people trying to find an answer that doesn't bring a busload of shame and would be more enjoyable to get a root canal without any freez

I cannot recommend this book enough. It is a must read for any married couple! Once again Cherie brings her conversational writing style to the pages of this new book, but this time with the assistance of her equally witty husband, Brian. The two of them together brilliantly and seamlessly present the voices from both sides of a marital conversation. Cherie’s experience in personal finance and Brian’s experience as a divorce attorney drive their insight across the pages into how struggles with m ...more

Recommends it for: anyone married or planning to be
I've still got a few more chapters to read to finish up this book but I could have told you after the Introduction and Chapter 1 that if you're married, or ever planning to be you should pick up this book and read it. It's loaded with not just good information on managing money and your marriage but just insights on life and relationships in general.

I'm blessed to say that I know Brian and Cherie personally as we've attended the same church and Brian and Cherie have also both been involved in me

Recommends it for: Married couples, engaged couples,
Brian and Cherie take on your marriage's financial health and work through the often-missed connection between your financial life and deep, Cajun-spiced intimacy. Before getting married, my wife and I committed to ending the cycle of financial stress we'd experienced growing up. Your Money, Your Marriage has come at the perfect time for us. After eleven years of doing our best, it had sometimes become about margin, payments and account balances. Let's just say we've been grateful for this book! ...more

What a great read! Even if you and your spouse don't fight about money, this book is worth the read for info on how to connect and reconnect to your spouse across the board. I really enjoyed getting both a husband's and wife's prospective on each chapter to see the different points of view. They also provide the right amount humor to keep the book moving at a good pace. I found the questions at the end of each chapter to be really helpful in fostering communication with my husband. They provided ...more

This book is an excellent read for any married couple! Marriage is HARD, but so worth it - especially when you’re on the same page as your spouse - and ESPECIALLY in the area of finances. Cherie and Brian give real, down to earth, and practical solutions to talk to your spouse about finances. They give practical advice to be real and honest with each other, and they also bring to light how issues in one area can put a strain in other *ahem* areas. So thankful for this book - and I HIGHLY recomme ...more

This book is a must for any couple needing to get on the same page in the matter of finances. The authors have a fresh, honest approach that will lead you to realize difficult truths but then will have you giggling on the next page. This book is smart, funny, reads easy, and will encourage the readers to go to new and difficult places together when it comes to money. I highly recommend this to any new couple wanting to avoid the pitfalls of getting off track financially as well as couples who ha ...more

I have experienced the other materials from these authors and was honestly shocked it took so long for this book to materialize. The intimacy I have experienced in my marriage is, unfortunately, not immune to money. Understanding that money has a real, direct impact on myself, my wife and our children reminds me that it is not JUST about getting bills paid, but smartly strategizing it. Brian and Cherie are so transparent and practical that rather than feeling overwhelmed, we feel motivated. So t ...more

Even if you feel like you're doing pretty well with your marriage and finances on you own, this book can only help you improve both. It's filled with relatable stories and thought provoking questions and suggestions. Who couldn't benefit from advice from a couple who paid off that much debt in that short of a timeframe?! Brian and Cherie are an inspiration! I've recommended this book to several friends and family members and would recommend it to anyone looking to enhance their relationship and ...more
Books about money can be boring. Books about intimacy can be uncomfortable. This book combines both and is neither. “Your Money, Your Marriage” is a candid look at marriage, communication, finances, and the intimate connection between them. Being able to identify with both Brian and Cherie in some of the same marital situations we find ourselves makes their advice practical and engaging. Encouraging, practical, and at times laugh-out-loud funny. Read it. Your marriage and money will thank you.

The use of both Brian and Cherie's writing voices was unique and added depth to the book. You got to see their personalities shine. Brian selling a friend's car to himself was the gem story in this book for me. One learns that communication, humility, and nudging toward one another is key to financial and intimacy success. Asking "what can I do to help?" and following through is key to building trust. This book holds many nuggets of truth and guidance that every marriage should strive to follow ...more

Brian and Cherie’s quick-witted humor and vulnerable anecdotes invite and challenge readers to consider their own financial habits. Their honesty with their own shortcomings is relatable, but their practical tips and encouragements did not leave me discouraged.

The alternating and unique voices of Brian and Cherie complement one another to form a resolved call for financial unity. Couples looking to engage (or reengage) the topic of finances with their spouse will find a useful companion in Your

I had not deeply considered the connection between money and intimacy before reading this book. I appreciate Brian and Cherie's willingness to go there, saying the hard things with tenderness and hope. Those who read this book and follow its practical suggestions will see change that will impact two of the most important areas of life.

Absolute must read for any couple looking to strengthen their marriage. This book not only gives a broad understanding of communication in marriage but gives practical advice on how to apply these lessons. As a newly-wed this book has been a great eye opener, and the humorous and articulate writing styles of Brian and Cherie make this a book one to be devoured.

I’ve read quite a few books on marriage and money over the years. However, Brian and Cherie provide something in this incredible book that many miss: How money and romance (as well as some humor and struggle) are intimately tied together in a marriage. This book is practical, insightful, and full of helpful encouragement. I highly recommend it to any couple!

Great stories to support the advice! I’m in my early 20s and read this with my significant other. We’re not married, but this book really resonated with disagreements in our relationship that are likely issues of most intimate relationships... didn’t realize how heavily finances could carry over into intimacy. Lots of useful takeaways that were easily applied!

This book is a must read. Brian and Cherie get raw and honest and say what I needed to hear! I literally never read books, but I couldn't put this one down! This book was so encouraging to me to be a better husband and to focus more on our finances. They do go hand-in-hand. Who knew?!

Great book!

Great book! Even better than the first. Practical advice for real people in real marriages without being preachy. First book like this I’ve read that admits married people have great sex, buy lingerie, and aren’t perfect
