Books one and two in this series (but especially book one) have become some of my favorite books of all time. All time, people.
ESPECIALLY book one. Oops, I said that already...but anyway...
Book one blew me away with the story, the character depth and complexity, the character to character interactions, and - above all - the supreme level of delicious angst.
Book two did not quite tip the angst scales as much as book one, but still...It had me at hello.

➳There is always a first time for finding true love in the forbidden, and Nicole Jacquelyn has found a way to write this in a phenomenal romance story filled with angst, emotions, and such raw passion towards the characters…

After reading the first 2 books in this series, I could not wait to get my hands on Heart of Glass. Not only because I loved Trevor, but needed to know what would happen after that Henry bomb was dropped.
Trevor and Morgan have both experienced loss in their lives. It's a different kind of loss, but loss all the same. When Trevor learns that his foster brother Henry had a child, he knows he needs to meet her, to make sure she's okay and hopefully be able to be a part of her life. What ...more

I don't know what to say. I mean, when I first saw the blurb for Heart of Glass my reaction was "I need this so bad!" Then I started reading and instead of being blown away I found it rather bland.

Trevor was sweet, but bland

His mother - a controlling prima donna I could well have done without reading, she took away from the story and had more page time than a side character should've. 🙄

I hate to do this because the first two books in this series were 5 star reads for me, but I am so bored and I don't like either of the main characters. It's been a week of me pushing myself to read this book and I'm not enjoying it. It feels like work, reading for fun shouldn't feel that way.

Heart of Glass was the kind of story that you wanted to fall in love with. With a tragedy that left us wondering what would happen next in the wake of new information regarding the Harris family, I think that it’s safe to say that everyone was waiting on pins and needles for this book. The premise was on point, we already knew the family, and when you added a sweet baby in the mix, your heart melts even before you read the first chapter.
After learning that his foster brother had a baby that h ...more

There's something to be said about reading a book by an author you've never read before. You have nothing to compare it to, no expectations and can read without bias (if you stay away from reviews, that is). So when reviewers remark that there isn't as much angst as in the previous stories in the series I can smile and and enjoy the ride.
That feeling, the one I knew I was supposed to have, the one every parent had, even the shitty parents? I didn’t feel it.

Such a lovely story, I was hooked from the first pages. It was a fast aced story, full of emotions and it has drama.A sweet hero and a heroine that it took me a little bit to really like her.

This is one of those books that leaves me conflicted. While I was reading, I enjoyed the story and I thought it was interesting. Yet by the time I finished I was left feeling unsatisfied and waiting for more. It was like there just wasn't enough story with the characters and I kept hoping we would see more of Morgan and Trevor together.
I think for me there was just too much going on with Trevor's family and it focused on trying to give the family backstory instead ...more

The story begins where the last book ended after Henry Harris’ family learns not only of his death in a Marine training accident but also that he has a 2-year old daughter he’d abandoned. His adopted brother, Trevor, takes on the mission to locate the child and her mother, Morgan Riley, and reach out to them. When he finds them, Trevor immediately connects with her and little Etta. Despite her typical wary nature, Morgan develops a bond and trust with him as they prepare for the family reunion.

Several things stand out when I try to describe this wholly unforgettable series of standalone romances. First, they're usually heavy with angst and heartache... And I LOVE that. The emotion and complicated dynamics in each of these books make for a heart stopping, breathtaking reading experience. Second, they're all layered and woven together meticulously. The characters all have such rich history that kind of comes full circle in their adulthood. Their dynamics change, they evolve fro ...more

I honestly don’t get know how to write this review. I’ve been a BIG fan of this series. I loved “Unbreak My Heart” and “Change of Heart” by this author but sadly this book fell flat for me and I didn’t have the same angsty and emotional reaction while I was reading.
I liked Trevor, he was a sweetheart and such a good guy but he could be too nice at times. Kinda a pushover and that gets old quick. Shane and Bram (from the other books) are a little more alpha and I think that’s why I enjoyed the st ...more

This was an enjoyable listen overall but it just didn’t reach the love I’ve had for the first two books. I liked the couple but it was a bit back and forth too much and there was a sense of drama lama. The mother really got on my nerves for the first time in this book.

Well I was pretty disappointed in this one. It wasn't bad but it wasn't anything to write home about either. I'm not sure how many pages it was but it felt really short. The hero and heroine barely spent any time together. The hero was pretty much instantly in love with her. There was very little conflict in the book. I didn't really care for the heroine at all and I don't know why the hero loved her. She was mostly a bitch to him. I think if you're trying to sell me on the fact that the heroine

I'm disappointed with this one. I had such high hopes since I LOVED Unbreak My Heart (I reread it all the time) but Heart of Glass was just so... bland. I had a hard time connecting with the characters and didn't feel much for their story. The ending was pretty abrupt too. Etta, the little girl, was the highlight of this book. I wish I could've loved it more!

The third book in the Fostering Love series, this is a sweet and emotional slow-burning romance with strong family themes, a single mother heroine and a hero to-die-for! It can easily be read as a standalone, but ties in well with the earlier books of the series as it follows up the bombshell dropped in the last book

Nicole Jacquelyn's Fostering Love was one of those pleasant surprises for me. I picked up the first book simply because the cover caught my eye and got a whole lot of realistic characters, big quirky families and cute children.
Single mother, Morgan Riley was raising her adorable daughter, Etta on her own. Etta's father, Henry Harris, wasn't interested in being a father. He was a staff sergeant in the Marines and had no plans on having a family. Morgan knew his intentions from the start; they were friends (with benefits) and she never expected anything more. But even this determined bachelor couldn't shirk his responsibilities completely. He made sure that Morgan and Etta would be the recipients of his life insurance s

I received this book for free from Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
I was completely lured in by the cover and the premise of the story. I had never read author Nicole Jacquelyn before and I decided going into this one without reading the previous two. First things, this works perfect as a standalone I was not lost at all in the dynamics of the family or anything. So that was a plus. But ultimately, this book ...more

There is a certain warmth to Nicole Jacquelyn's writing that never fails to draw me in. I'm not sure if it's from the real life situations or the real life characters she crafts so well. Either way, I always fall a tiny bit in love.
That is really what the Fostering Love series is. Real life. It's not fanciful. There are no mega billionaire dominants, no rockstars, no extravagant mansions and jets and shiny cars.

I am a huge fan of the Fostering Love series by Nicole Jacquelyn. I loved, absolutely loved Unbreak My Heart, the first book in the series and have read the eBook and listened to the audio several times since it was published. Heart of Glass, the third book in the series, was just as emotional, full of angst and tugged at my heart. I devoured it in one sitting, reading late into the night.

I absolutely loved Trevor. It's as if NJ dreamed up the perfect man and put him on paper. He was always steady, stalwart and why he picked Morgan is beyond me. With that said, I really didn't like Morgan. She redeemed herself toward the end, but I felt she couldn't think rationally, most of the time, and would fly off the deep end, cutting off and hurting Trevor. If I were that dude I would have run far AND fast. She never showed appreciation when Trevor would sacrifice for her. He dropped every

If you read the blurb, you might get the feeling that this is a incestuousy forbidden type of romance, but i don't see it like that at all.
In the prologue, you'll get Henry's POV. He doesn't want a kid, doesn't feel anything for Etta or her mother. Then we find out he's dead and his family learn about the daughter he left behind.

“Were you looking for me?” I asked dumbly, the words tumbling from my lips before I could hold them back. I froze as soon as I’d realized what I’d said.
