I'm all for supporting local talent, and although I haven't read many of our homegrown masterpieces, this is easily one of the best. It's witty, charming, painfully realistic and incredibly relevant. I especially loved being able to relate to the setting and cultural references.

First of all, many thanks to the author for reaching out and sending me a copy of her debut novel. It's always exciting for me to read an English novel written by Malaysian author.

Dumped, by Amal Nadiah Ghazali.
#PuteriBookClub reading works by our own alumnae, October 2020.

The moderator was Roha Tahir (80), and so we had a varied generational vibe going on 😁. (However, I can't for the

I might be biased because, I finished this book right after I have been dumped.

I bought this book with no intention of getting dumped. I stumbled upon it at Kinokuniya and flipped through the first chapter. Well, I was afraid that I could not stop thinking about this book if I decided to put it back on the shelf.

Reading this book felt like, reading an email from your friend. It is like you got updates from a friend who loves to reflect on whatever she faces. Well, this book somehow helped me in

Amal is truly a writer who could write beautifully. I did enjoy this book and it was a relatable Malaysian thingy. Only downside to this is that it gets a little draggy in between.
