Miriam Smith (A Mother’s Musings)
"One Fate Befalls" written by T. F. Pruden was an interesting and very entertaining contemporary romantic fiction novel that held my attention from the intriguing opening pages.

One Fate Befalls is the third novel be Canadian author T. F. Pruden. It is the story of a first love and how people can be drawn together over and over. It is the story of circumstances and complications and how we make choices to survive and assumptions to comfort our deepest fears.
Nick & Katy reconnect over a weekend and through a series of flashbacks we witness their lives together and apart over several decades. There is an intimacy in Pruden’s writing that draws readers into the details of

This is a contemporary romantic story which I recommend for the older reader. Kate is at her lonely home with her infant son. Her husband dotes on her but works out of town.

One day, Kate meets her long lost first love, Nick. They are forced to evaluate the choices they have made accepting responsibility for the failures and the suppressed hope. They are involved in a web of secrets with lies, substance abuse and sexual abuse. The book involves a lot of life events.

I won this free book from a Goo

The characters are well developed and reflect how life is, middle age first loves and longing for new adventures. ...more
