En kort historie om immunitet. Hva det er, hvordan vi begynte å aktivisere immunforsvaret for å bekjempe farlige infeksjonssykdommer og utsiktene fremover. Veldig interessant og spekket med historier fra virkelige mennesker. Til tross for at forfatteren prøver å holde boken på et folkelig nivå er enkelte partier ganske tekniske, også for meg med særinteresse for biolgoi. Allikevel, anbefales absolutt.

Glimrende forskningsformidling av hvordan kroppens immunsystem fungerer, og årsakene til sykdommer som skyldes enten svikt i immunsystemet, "overivrige" immunreaksjoner eller at systemet ikke klarer å gjenkjenne hva som skal nedkjempes. Boka er både en oversikt over viktige immunrelaterte sykdommer, en oversikt over immunologifagets forskningshistorie og forklaring på mirkonivå av hvordan immunsystemet fungerer.

Ga opp halvveis. Ikke en dårlig bok, men lærte lite nytt etter å ha lest en god del immunologi i studiesammenheng. Ser for meg at lesere som ikke har studert medisin vil kunne slite litt med å henge med på enkelte av de faglige resonnementene. Likevel, alt i alt en solid bok
