4 suspenseful Stars with a touch of Love 🌟🌟🌟🌟

This book was a true romantic suspense novel.... usually in this genre there is either more romance or more suspense... but this was very well-balanced between the two....

Tori is a reporter who witnesses a young girl being abducted when she is picking her niece up from school.... not only does this cause her reporter instincts to kick in.... but something about this is eerily similar to her own abduction ages ago..... Mark is a widowed single father

Favorite Quotes:

What the majority of people don’t know or understand, is that when a child’s taken from everything they know, their traumatized emotions soon bypass the initial fear and move onto a horrible acceptance that they might never be found. A soul destroying, deep-embedded realization that maybe their mum and dad don’t actually love them as the child thought… otherwise they would come and find them.

Tori Peterson is broken. Well at least that's how she sees herself. After witnessing a childs abduction outside her niece's school, Tori is thrown back into the memories of her own abduction when she was a child. An experience that has haunted her ever since, tainting everything in her life, including relationships. It has hardened Tori, making it impossible for anyone to get through the impenetrable barrier she has put up to protect herself. However, Tori cannot forget the child, Abby who was ...more

My Review:

Wow, where do I start with this hot steamy romantic suspense?

Characters

I completely fell in love with Tori Peterson from the first moment, she was introduced!! She’s a lost and troubled soul with an AWFUL childhood.

Now Mark Bolten, Erm now he’s the dark haired blue eyed guy who most, would cross off on their perfect guy list. Raising his daughter alone after his wife suffered a tragic ending. He’s battling with trying to be a good father but Tori catches his eye. The first women that h

Wow!
I have had the pleasure of reading many of Rachel Brimble's books over the last couple of years and have enjoyed them all very much, but this book is in a completely different class as it's so very different to everything else that she has ever written. The story and plotline was very well thought out and the quality of the writing is very easy to follow.
This is a story that had me gripped right from the start, and you could say that it's a little more of sinister dark thriller rather than

This was not the typical type of story that I read, but I'm glad I did! This book kept me on the edge of my seat! Such strong, caring and enduring characters. Tori Peterson had been kidnapped as a child and was away for 6 days. That experience changes her life forever. When a local child in her new town goes missing, and she couldn't stop the abduction, she decides that she will do anything and everything to find Abby. In all the chaos she learns to trust a local carpenter Mark Bolton. Mark is a ...more

I was really looking forward to reading this book and having read it I can say I wasn’t disappointed and I was hooked!

It was a really gritty read and I loved the writing style, it really brought the characters to life and gave the story an added dimension for me. The pace was excellent and I read the book really quickly as I couldn’t wait to find out the ending!

Four stars from me – a really enjoyable story!

Tori Peterson’s world is turned upside down when she witnesses a child abduction and fails to stop Abby Brady being taken. Tori has her own personal reasons for wanting this young girl to be found because she was also abducted as a child, and the two cases appear to be strangely similar.

Tori is determined to use her journalistic skills to get to the bottom of this case. She reluctantly accepts the help of Mark, a widowed single father who shows an instinctive protective side for Tori, even befor

I received this book through a Goodreads giveaway. It arrived yesterday afternoon and I finished it before I went to bed! It had all of the elements I like - danger, mystery, romance. It was very well written and had both a unique story and unique characters. I've read so many of these where I'm not even sure if I'd read them before because they're the same - I didn't get that feeling at all with this one. The only reasons that this wasn't five stars for me are that one, I just didn't care about ...more

Thank you to Rachel Brimble and Rachel from Rachel's Random Resources for allowing me the opportunity to read and review this book for the blog tour.
If you're looking for a fast-paced, edge of your seat crime-romance then this is definitely for you! I really felt for Tori as she had already been through so much. But at the same time what had happened to her made her a very strong and independent woman and for me she is a form of superhero as she never let it define who she is. She is my kind of ...more

Sometimes you come across a book that truly gets you in the ‘feels’ and this book was one of them. Reading through the first couple of chapters, my mouth was dry, my heart was racing and I was on the edge of my seat…quite literally! Every parents nightmare was happening in right in front of my eyes and I felt every word that was written. My mind flashed to my two young boys and I felt the fear resonate as I read the opening chapters.

If I want you wasn’t romance and it didn’t claim to be that, so I thought I knew what to expect. I mean, I have read crime and thrillers and all that before in the past and I really enjoyed it, but this book was one of the best books in that genre I have ever read!
The plot together with the writing style kept me on the edge till the end. I guessed and guessed and guessed wrong all. The. Time. I did not expect what happened and the twists and turns w

Tori Peterson is waiting in the car to pick her niece up from school when she sees a man abducting another little girl. But something seems odd about the abduction. It reminds Tori of her own abduction as a child and when she learns her kidnapper is out of prison she is worried that he may be getting back at her. Mark Bolen is there too and is quick to help Tori find Abby. Mark has his own issues that he is working around. The more the two are together it is clear that there is an attraction bet ...more

This was a really, really good read. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. I loved the way the author wrote it and how she managed to keep the suspense going throughout the story. I was constantly trying to guess what was going to happen which I love in a story! I really loved the characters, Tori and Mark! I couldn't get into this book. While the premise was really interesting, the constant paragraph and paragraph of internal dialogue was annoying and actually prevented me from finishing the book. It was page after page of internal dialogue without conversations between anyone.

I also found Tori extremely annoying.

The suggestion by the blurb that this is a psychological thriller is in contrast to the cover with its predominantly sultry male protecting the heroine which gives away its romantic nature; though fiercely, independent Tori is not your damsel in distress who needs a knight in shining armour to rescue her. It is a high tension romance entwined with a gripping crime.

Rachel Brimble throw you into the action from the first page when Tori witnesses an abduction that takes her back to own kidnapping a
