Girl Vs was one crazy rollercoaster ride. It's darker than my usual choice of dystopian world stories. The book is fast paced and Rhyan's life is always changing. Only the strongest survive or maybe it's just being in the right place at the right time.

Rhyan only nipped out when the initial invasion took place. Her family were not as fortunate. When she arrived home her life had changed forever. Her family had been killed and she needed to find a new way to survive. Being smart, learning to use

I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

With that said, holy shit! From the very first sentence, I was hooked. The story follows a totally badass teenager trying to survive in the alien invasion apocalypse. Rhyan has lost her entire family to the aliens and must fend for herself and survive until she meets other survivors and makes camp with them. She hunts the aliens, she kills them, and gets hurt when she does...but she keeps doing Day in and day out. U

First of all, a big thank you to X. Culletto for reaching out to me and letting me read her book. In return, l need to give a review on this book.
To begin, this book was kinda slow at the beginning. There wasn’t much build up of the characters and what they were like before they either disappeared or were killed. l personally think that it gives the book more mystery and it gives a lot more room for imagination. This book l thought was very similar to the 5th Wave, just like X. Culletto stated.

A solid four stars!

Once again, the author succeeded in painting the world alive wth her words and what a world it was! It was a good plot which was action packed and pulled me in right away. The writing went along at a good thrilling pace.
Rhyan is a typical high school student until the aliens show up and decide they want to kill everyone and everything. Then she has to learn to be someone who can survive on her own, deal with the very different world she is now growing up in as well as fight o

Wow. This book was way better than what I expected. Not that I expected it to be a bad book or anything, but it's just really good. Right from the start I could understand what was happening, the story-line was really easy to pick up. Throughout the whole book, the author's writing was so vivid that I could see what was happening and feel what the main character was feeling. Btw, the main character is so badass, I love her!! I could connect with her and reading this whole book was a nice experie ...more

Girl v Aliens!

‘How far I had fallen - how different from the girl who used to sit in the back of algebra, doodling stars onto her notes.’

Rhyan is a pretty typical high school student until the aliens turn up. Then she has to learn to be someone else entirely. Someone who can survive on her own, deal with the complex new world she is now growing up in and fight those aliens anyway she can. This book charts her journey from being that regular high school pupil to being a survivalist heroine in a

The Earth has been overwhelmed by alien invaders and civilization has collapsed. The remnants scrounge and scrape for scarce resources. There is little space for compassion in such a world, only competition and survival. One girl, Rhyan, chooses to hunt mankind’s enemy, one Vela at a time. With many close scrapes and kills, she has evolved into an efficient and brutal killer. Yet, with each kill, the burdens of her actions weigh heavily upon her. For not all her foes are alien and her hands are ...more

Rhyan has lost everything to alien invasion. When an average teenage girl might give up, whine, or any number of things, she finds her strength. She is a fighter. Not even sure what she fights for, other than it feels right. And she is good at it, seriously. I enjoyed her so very much. The secondary cast however doesn’t really get a chance to grow on you, because they aren’t near as determined or adept at killing the aliens as she is.

With a plot like this, only the very strong will survive. From

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review and honestly I loved it. It has action, but not too much to where that's all it is. It has emotion, but not too much to where it's extremely sappy. My favorite part is that the main character is a strong female lead who isn't portrayed as an overly emotional person and is head strong. All in all its an amazing book and I can't wait for the sequel.

I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review. I loved the book! It was a fast, enjoyable read. There weren’t any grammar/spelling mistakes that I noticed and I usually do. That plays a big part when I read a book. I’m excited to read the next one. The only thing I would have liked is a little more maybe flashbacks? To Ryhans life before. Maybe a little more romance? But that’s just my opinion. I would recommend this book!

I just finished reading 'Girl Vs (Alien Apocalypse Book 1)' and wow... the story reads like a roller coaster and I give it five stars!

This is a fast-paced sci-fi page turner about Rhyan—a teenager facing violent aliens who invaded Earth. It's like the TV series 'Falling Skies' all over!

Aliens invaded Earth, destroying human civilization, but lately, they seem to be interesting in taking humans in custody, doing what? Studying them?

Rhyan, a troubled teenager with a taste for revenge struggles to

I find this book to be extremely engaging right from the start and is very character driven. You are prepared in order to take the journey alongside the characters like you are experiencing their lives with them. I find this is down to the passion in which this author writes.

Science fiction is generally a take it or leave it genre for me. I'm very picky about which books I read that include this. I found this novel to be one of those books that I can read that doesn't feel overly done. It concen

The first line just hooks you in, and you are addicted, just like that! I would recommend this book to anyone who likes action and a bad-ass main character(even better shes a girl)!

Wow that was a wild ride from start to finish! The premise is that the world has been over run with aliens, the Vela, and our main hero, Rhyan, must survive. The aliens are ruthless, but the people are even worse.

Let's start with the things I liked:
- Rhyan. She was a badass, take-no-prisoners heroine that I could fully get behind. Yes, she begins to lose her sanity and makes questionable choices, but this is an apocalyptic setting where everyone she's ever cared about before is dead. She's doing

So, first, thank you so much to X. Culletto for the free pdf. Rhyan is this amazing and tough girl protagonist, just trying to stay alive in a world over run with Vela, or aliens. Plenty of amazing characters, who almost all seem to die, and plenty of action. This was an amazingly satisfying read, without a second of boredom.

I bought this book because the author works at my school. I wasn't sorry and the book did not disappoint. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. It's a great book for teens. There is action, death, aliens, and good people coming together to overcome challenges. While the theme is not very obvious, it's still there and there is a lot to talk about with teens. I enjoyed the adventure.

I love an interesting dystopian story! Nice work, Xela! Well paced, drew me in and I applauded our brave young female antagonist who found instinctive courage time and time again.

Review: Really liked it. The main character was a badass, but she doesn’t really know that. She just doing a job she knows she can do. Which is kill aliens. She not superhuman about it either, being small and agile just has it advances. Plus she not been stupid, she adapted and adjusted herself to the new world. She learned from her enemy, their weak spots and how to survive. W

Rhyan was lucky (maybe unlucky, in her opinion) to survive the alien invasion unlike her family and the most of the rest of the humans. Now, doing her best to survive out in the woods with a few fellow humans, she struggles to get through each day. But soon her group is under attack and she is left on her own. Can she survive this dangerous new world on her own?

*I was given a copy to review from the author.*

The author compared her book to The Hunger Games and The 5th Wave, so if you like those series, check out her book. However, it has been so long since I've read either, that I can't say if I would really compare them, other than a few obvious reasons.

This was a really quick read, though despite some personal mishaps, it took me longer to get through it. The book ends at just 200 pages. It is fast paced and full of action. The main character is stron

The kind of survival i like but..

It was too short, while it was getting good I felt that it was too rushed. Rhyane fought and fought there was no end to it. Aliens, humans they all wanted a piece of her and still do. The sequel will be bought.

The author gave me a free copy of the book in return for a fair and honest review.

This read more like action/adventure than typical dystopia/sci fi. I would have liked a little more discussion of how things came to be the way they are, and how the main character’s past has shaped her. Also, I felt the backstory of other characters was really lacking. For this reason, it seemed like we were just dropped into an alternate universe and got to watch things play out with no explanation, instead of r

Girl Vs is a gripping fast-paced thriller set in the aftermath of an alien invasion, when most of the human population has been wiped out. Rhyan is a great character, strong, brave and intelligent, a fast and skilful fighter, but at times prone to grief, anger and giving way to vengeful impulses. The post-invasion landscape is well described.

The action is combative, bloody and, at times, gruesome. One thing puzzled me. The creatures are very vulnerable to gunfire. So why would anyone engage in c

I really loved this book! It's action from start to end, very well written and very well narrated. I found myself wanting to hear more, I'd almost love to see it explored further and more in depth, and hope more books will follow! Ryan is a great character, total bad ass which is what I love to see, bad-a$ses kicking a$$! I'd be happy to recommend this to anyone, great read and was so excited today to ride home from work and hear how it all came out! :) :)

This is a new to me author. I must say I loved her writing and the story arc. It is a well done alien themed book.
As in all stories, there are good and bad characters. At times, some of the characters blur the line between the 2.
I have book 2 to read. I highly recommend this book.

Girl Vs by Xela Culletto The story drops us right down into the middle of things and that’s the way I like it. Rhyan is a likable character and it’s easy to grasp what’s going on. Aliens have wrecked Earth, tearing down nearly all human civilization. Now Rhyan and a handful of other survivors live day by day, scavenging for food, killing a few Vela aliens, and sleeping in a cavern at night. Things soon go wrong and Rhyan is on her own again, searching for safety and the basics. Luckily, she come ...more

Holes in the storyline

Truly don’t understand why people love this book so much... at best it’s just mediocre. The main character is likeable but the storyline and world building has so many holes that the story just falls apart. Aliens don’t use guns and walk around relying on their claws but die with one slash or a single gunshot, but somehow they wiped out most of humanity? At the end, suddenly fighter jets come to the rescue? Where were they before? Tanks, soldiers, none are still there but
