Alfie loves Nursery School – and so does Annie Rose! She can’t wait to go there with him – in fact she’s so desperate to join in that she gets Alfie into a very sticky situation in this collection of nursery school tales. Join Alfie as he navigates playground games and special concerts in this heartwarming book from Shirley Hughes, creator of Dogger .
Shirley Hughes is the illustrator of more than two hundred children’s books and has won many prestigious awards, including the Kate Greenaway Medal twice. She is the author-illustrator of DON'T WANT TO GO! and OLLY AND ME 1 2 3. She died at her home in London on the 25th of February, 2022.
Skip this book. Children do not look age appropriate. Parent should recognize the concert is for Alfie and the students not for his sister. Be a parent!! Have the younger sibling appreciate Alfie and the concert and learn to wait her turn!
Really lovely book, very suitable for children starting school. Lovely illustrations and a good length for story time. Good story for sharing, being kind and getting along with everyone.
This isn't as well-written or appealing as some of the other Alfie books, but my four-year-old Alfie fan enjoyed it anyway, especially the second story in which Annie Rose crashes Alfie's school concert.
