The story continues with Lucy aka Lucifer who happens to be a female version and Levi the hunky psychic.
Something is terribly wrong in heaven - thus Lucy to the rescue along with Levi.
There is plenty of action and steamy sex scenes to keep you entertained.
I myself still have a hard time picturing Lucy as Lucifer, but that's just me.
Overall I would recommend this story.

The Devil Inside

Another fast paced thrilling sequel to the first book that came out. There were a lot of unexpected twists and turns which made the story unpredictable and entertaining. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Coming into this series on book 2 has me wanting to go back to the first book of the series to read for myself everything that happened prior to book 2. I volunteered to read this book for the author for my opinion. I have to say once I got started I couldn't put it down. The unique perspective of a female Lucifer is awesome! This book gives a quick synopsis of what happened in book one and it so nicely done that me I have an idea of the previous book that reading book 2 first didnt leave me ...more

Hell’s Gate:
Straight to Hell #1 - A pretty good twist on Lucifer and Lucifer's story, I like it. Jane wrote another good, fast paced, action packed, intriguing story. Her characters are fun and believable regardless of where they originate. The twisting plot keeps the reader glued to the pages until the end . . . where we get perturbed to find a cliffhanger.

Yes, a miserable cliffhanger! The other thing that bothers me about this fab read is Lucy is easily distracted at the wrong times. I find

Recommends it for: Anyone who loves action, romance, and a different way of looking at the universe.
The Devil Inside, the second in the Hell’s Gate series, was great fun to read. It has wonderful characters, lots of action, romance, and a quirky look at Heaven, Hell, and Earth. It’s definitely a book for adults as it contains adult situations and language.

Lucifer’s father, G-d, has gone missing. Heaven is in disarray, Earth is threatened, and a surprise being awaits Lucy, hidden beneath the town of Shadow Falls. Can she, Levi, and Dacian find her father, deal with the being, and her decidedly

For the love of all that is holy...........oh wait...........UGH! First I have to say, normally, I take a star away for a cliffhanger. And wow did this end with one. The only reason I decided against it, I just knew it was gonna happen. Still.....UGH!!!!!! That said, this book was amazing. Which means the final ending will be epic. Ms. Hinchey has created a world of characters that make you laugh, hope, cry and want to fight for them. I do miss getting a POV from other characters throughout the ...more

The first thing I must say is that the more I read Ms. Hinchey, the more I love her writing. This book is the second in the Devil’s Gate series, and even though I have not read the first one, I was in no way, shape, or form lost when reading this one. The characters were great (I just loved Dacian, Lucy, and Levi!), I was thrilled with the interesting plot, and the book flowed extremely smoothly. One thing I do want to mention is that I love how strong a character that Lucy is. She is ...more

This is the second book in this super fun series by Jane Hinchey. It does end in a cliffhanger, but I'm ok with that because that is something I love about series.
Let's start with the characters. First of all, Lucifer is a FEMALE! Thank-you very much, Jane, for changing this up. She is smart, funny, kick-a**, and everything else you could want in a heroine. Then there is Levi, her human lover, and, again, I have to say thank-you for this. I love that the dynamics are so different from most of

This is my favourite of Jane's books so far. It launched itself pell-mell into the action where Straight To Hell finished and didn't stop to catch a breath till an ending I definitely didn't see coming. What a ride Lucy went on in this book. She has many problems to find solutions for and is hindered more than helped by her relations.
You think you have problems with your family? Wait till you meet Lucifer's nearest and dearest. In this series, the Devil is the level-headed, compassionate one

I gotta say, I'm loving this series. The continuation of Lucy's unique story is just as interesting as the first book. We meet more of Lucy's family and get to see some of the dysfunction that is going on there. Relationships are tested. Lucy's will is tested when she finds out that there are several people keeping things from her, some whom she trusts and others she didn't to begin with. The pacing is good. There is a cliffhanger that leaves you wondering what will happen after Lucy finds out ...more

Oh the tangled webs we weave.
The first book put me off a bit bc I am not a fan of sex scenes. This one has more than the last one and I almost decided not to bother reading it. The storyline was so good, though, that I decided to just skip over all the steamy parts so I could stay focused on the story itself. Ms. Hinchey has a wonderful imagination so it's a pity that sex has to be used as the stories are great on their own without the unnecessary rubbish.
Onward to the actual story now...it

Ahhh cliff hanger.....I know some people love cliff hangers, I only like them if I can jump straight into the next book. So be warned....ends on a cliff hanger.
Okay, now that's out of the way....awesome book. Lucy and Levi's relationship really heats up, but how does Dacian fit in? God is missing, and has been for a long time. How did Lucy not realise? This book has a bit of everything, action, mystery, adventure and sex! We get to spend time in heaven, hell and on Earth....and another dimension

What an unbelievably awesome book this second piece to the series was. I have to admit that the manipulation and inner strife that is playing out between God and his family gave me pause. Lucy, of all the characters, is most affected by everything that has happened. Will she and Levi ever find their way back to each other? Lillith is still at fault since she set everything in motion to get back at God. A must read! This was even better than the first book and I can't wait for the next to make a ...more

Not my usual genre, but I love the author's cozy paranormal series, so thought I would give this series a try and to my surprise I am finding that I like it! Lucifer, just call me Lucy - how imaginative is that for a start! Lucy is plenty busy in this second book, retrieving her lover from another realm, trying to find her dad, God, in order to save Heaven, and the return of her prodigal mother wreaking havoc with everyone's lives. With characters you will like and some you will dislike, there ...more

This is a version of Heaven and Hell that you didn't grow up with but it is a wild ride. We left Lucy trying to get to her lover Levi who had been pulled into another dimension by a soul seeker, this is where she learns of a sword she could forge that could give her what she needs to get to Levi. She also learned just how bad things had gotten in Heaven and that her father, God was missing her brothers are probably behind it. So join the fireworks Lucy creates trying to solve her problems.

Fun reinterpretation of Christian mythology

Interesting premise. Lucifer is female. God makes big mistakes. Heaven and Hell are corporate behemoths. The clever worldbuilding turned pages faster than the story. That's not to say the story isn't clever, too. The author gave the reader fun and funny characters with an interesting blend of and humor. On the down side, the book was a little too long. The murky middle drug on with a series of sex scenes and exposition. But the intriguing ending

Lucifer is a female... Who knew?

Although I didn't read the first book, I felt totally immersed in this book as it put a new twist on my thinking. The twist with Lucifer was my favorite. A dimensional read pulls you to many places. This series is absolutely phenomenal!! Jane Hinchey does it yet again! I didn’t think anything would top the first book in the series, but this one definitely matches, if not beats, it! I literally finished it in one night because I couldn’t put it down! Just be prepared for a major cliffhanger.. Like with any good cliffhanger, it left you at the edge of your seat going “Oh come on!! What happens next?!!”Will Lucifer forgive?? Or will she hold a grudge forever, like her mother??? The Devil Inside is the second book in the Hell's Gate series. This should not be read as a standalone as it starts where the cliffhanger in Straight To Hell left off. There is violence. There is sex so 18+.

The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that info here. The author did a good job with the storyline that keeps you guessing what twists and turns will be revealed next. It definitely kept me riveted all the way to the end. I enjoyed this book and I am

I just love Lucy who is Lucifer and this story was full of mystery and action. The characters are all likeable and fun to read about. Lucy and Levi's chemistry gets even hotter than the first book as they try to find God who is missing. The book has wonderful world development and picks up where book one left off. I really feel for Lucy and I just can't wait for the next book! I would definitely recommend reading the first book and this second one. I am voluntarily reviewing an arc I received.

What a fantastic keep you up reading all night book!
Lucy and Levi are such a great couple, but Levi has changed, and maybe not in a good way.
God is missing, but Michael and Gabriel don’t seem very concerned.. which has Lucy wondering if they are involved in their Dads disappearance.
Twists and turns to keep you guessing, and overall another great read in the Hell’s Gate series. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!

This is the second book in the Hell's Gate series and pretty much picks up right where book one ends. Lucy and Levi's relationship heats up and boy are there some shocking surprises! Plenty of action, mystery, adventure and romance surrounding the fact that God is missing and has been for a long time. I will be on the look out for the next book in this series as I want to know where the story goes. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

The Devil Inside (#2) ARC by Jane Hinchey: **** Very imaginative
This story is different than anything I’ve ever read - but really interesting and entertaining. What I like best: the little episodes where Lucy convinces evil people to change their ways before she sees them in Hell. For the wrap, this story ends on a cliffhanger, so I’ll definitely be reading the next book to find out where this story goes.

I am enjoying this series. I love Lucy, but the other characters just seem underdeveloped and sometimes underused. I’m not too fond of Levi, he seems like an anchor dragging Lucy away from her full potential as the star of the series. Dacian is too uptight. The others haven’t been in enough scenes for me to know about them yet.
I think that this is a good series and Ms Hinchey is a good author. I will have to try some of her other books..
