A standalone contemporary romance in the MORGAN BROTHERS SERIES from USA Today Bestselling Author Lauren Rowe. The story of firefighter Colby Morgan that proves heroes come in many forms . . .

The first time I laid eyes on Lydia Decker, I couldn’t speak. Or breathe. Or string two coherent thoughts together.

And I don’t mean any of that figuratively.

I’m not talking about a

This was one of the best stories I’ve ever read!! I don’t say this lightly. I’m still stunned by how much I completely loved everything about this book. I hope each and every one of you reading my words right now go out and get it today because it is right up there with the best of all time!!

After reading the first few chapters, I bawled my eyes out. I don’t cry. I’m recognized by everyone who knows me as being tough as nails. I’ve survived a lot of crap. I work in one of the ugliest fields

OH MY GAH!! I knew it’d be good but, OH MY WORD it was EXCEPTIONAL! I laughed. I cried. I fell in love! Colby and Lydia’s story is phenomenal.

What I loved:
Here's the thing. When you're only 4% in and you already feel like you might book therapy, its gonna be good. After the very first chapter I knew....

What sealed the deal were the amazing characters. Colby and Lydia's story is emotional and heartbreaking at times and I COULD NOT get enough of them.
The plot is ASTOUNDING! Seriously freaking am

This book is everything and more!! I loved it!

Colby is an incredible man and firefighter that has an accident while helping a baby during a house fire. He’s pretty badly injured and needs physical therapy. This is were Physical Therapist Lydia comes in. She’s an extraordinary woman that has gone through a traumatic event that changed her life. When they first meet each other, Colby recognizes Lydia as his soul mate, and so does she.

This story is so beautiful. The love Colby and Lydia share is

Very touching and sweet love story.
Amazing heroine. Adorable kids. Decent hero.
I didn't quite like how he pushed her; jealousy of a deceased person is a tricky trope.

All in all it was a very enjoyable read.

But due to the family dynamic and some family members/other brothers, it will probably remain my only book in this series.

Overall Opinion: This just simply wasn't my thing. Others enjoy instalove and cute, hot stories like this -- so I know it's a "it's me, not you" thing. I didn't hate it per se, but I also definitely didn't love it.

It was way too instalove for me! At 29% they were already making comments about being in love! They had hardly any on page interactions (except scenes that proved that they were attracted to one another), so I found this hard to believe/get into. Even later in the story when th

I just can’t connect. Not with story, the characters or the writing. Sigh.

I loved the plot, the world, the pacing…the author knows how to tell a good story, but no matter how hard I tried, it felt shallow…meaning that at least something lacked development. The conversations felt real but what gave me underdeveloped vibes were the staccato scene changes. Many scenes changed abruptly and didn’t seem to have a natural flow.

In short:

5+ ‘The Story of Colby and Lydia’ Stars!

Where does one even begin to describe this gem of a book?!
I believe this is at the tippty top of the author’s works!
Lauren has tapped into her inner writing goddess to bring us this captivating, sexy, emotional and poignant story.

Colby Morgan is hands down the most swoon-y, most dreamy hero I’ve had the pleasure of reading.
Colby’s a firefighter. When he gets severely injured on the job, his need for intensive physical therapy brings the lovely Lydia Deck
“Lay yourself bare to me.”

So, I have no idea why I’m so surprised that Lauren Rowe made me bawl my eyes out after reading the very first chapter of this book! I have absolutely MISSED her writing but I do remember that she writes with her entire heart and soul, with emotion brimming from every single word, every single paragraph, every single chapter. I don’t know why I thought this would be any different. No light-hearted read for me this go-round. This was so incredibly emotional, so raw, so

HERO is a profound, intense and sincere contemporary romance.

I believe Lauren has penned a masterpiece and delivered her best writing to date. Everything in HERO is fluent, poetic, earnest and heartfelt. The emotions in this book are overwhelming, overpowering and all consuming.

It's the most emotive book Lauren has ever written.
It's the sweetest romance Lauren has ever written.
It's the most pure romance Lauren has ever written.
It's the most beautiful romance Lauren has ever written.

I'm luving these Morgan brothers so much. Every time I read there books I fall for them so hard. They are so caring protective and strong men. I luv how family means so much to them. I just luv them. This book is Colby's book and I 've been looking forward to this book. Colby is the oldest of the family so he is super protective of them all. They all go to him for advice him being the mighty Master Yoda. I luv that they call him that it's so funny. Colby is a fire
I got to ask what's with insta-love? What's wrong with a couple developing a strong bound over time. It's better when they earn it! I didn't finish this book, barely even started. I stoped when the H was in a hospital bed with tons of broken bones and a machine was breathing for him. He mets the h at this time and non-stop flirts with her. COME ON! He's barely coming of his death bed and he's winking and flirting?!

Maybe I ask to much from my books but I like substance and this book didn't have

Ok, ok, ok. I’m not even sure where to begin with this beauty because damn, stick a fork in me, I’m done!

Ever since Lauren announced Colby would be getting his own book I was so extremely excited and to be completely honest a little nervous. Having loved Peenie and Captain I was nervous that Hero wouldn’t live up to the expectation I had for it but, let me just tell you this, my expectations were blown to smithereens. Cheese Head’s (Colby) book was so much more than I could ever possibly hope fo

Knight in Shining Armor

Have you ever wanted to know someone that you would consider the love of your life or your soulmate? That is the very essence of Colby Morgan. Colby is a HERO in every sense of the word. He is a firefighter who on a daily basis puts his life on the line to save others. When he is laid up in the hospital after a near death experience, the first person he sees when he opens his eyes is Lydia Decker. A beautiful Angel. She is his physical therapist, but to Colby she is much m

Dead spouse AND another woman at the beginning? ugh
I loved this story! Emotional but also really humorous - one page I'd have tears in my eyes and the next I was laughing out loud. The writing was fantastic and I adored all the characters (minus Ramona) - and the relationships of the Morgan family members. There was so much to love about this story and I can't wait to read more by this author. Also, the audiobook was fantastic. Narration was perfect!

It seems that everyone loves this story and I can see why but the story didn't work for me.

Let's make this short and only a list:

- insta anything (love, lust whatever you want to call it)
- the dialogues (do people really talk this way?)
- "healing" through sex (way too much sex)

Could have been great. Unfortunately, it is not.

Unbeliveable! I had a hard time breathing through most of Hero. As the story progressed, Lauren Rowe just blew me away. From beginning to end, I was captivated by both Colby and Lydia … what they went through, what they are going through and how they both came out stronger people in the end.

Chapter One slayed me. I cried, seriously cried. Then I took a breath and continued on to Chapter 2 and cried some more … let's skip to Chapter 7. Why, because I needed to hold my breath a little more and cry

I am a fan of Lauren Rowe and her books. This isn’t a secret.
The books that contain the Morgan family, though, hold a special place in my heart.
And this book seals that space. Cemented over completely.
Hero, Colby and Lydia’s story, grabbed me by the throat, and never really let go until the end.
Lauren’s humour makes your brain laugh. Her angst makes your heart weep. Her love makes your soul fly.
This book boils down to love. With the Morgan family, it’s what they do best.

I struggled with this review, so I've waited and here it is.
While there were aspects of the book that I really liked and though the writing was well done, I just felt the storyline could have been so much better. It had such potential but the author just wouldn't take it "there" What really ruined it though was the scene in the pool when the heroine is about to tell H her big secret and she is struggling with nervousness and anxiety about revealing it. What does he do, gets naked and throws sex
DNF Chapter 16. Spoilers ahead

There's no mention anywhere that this is an interracial-romance. I would loved a heads up, because I'm very choosy when it comes to interracial romance stories. This one wasn't so good.

The chapters were really choppy and very short. The reading experience suffered from it.

I found it really unprofessional the way the heroine acted at the hospital. She's a physical therapist and there she goes and flirts with her patient. She stalked him in his hospital room even if

Full disclosure, I never read Ball Peen Hammer, but if you have ever met Keane Morgan, then you have an idea of the antics that occur in the first Morgan Brother book. I did read Captain, the second Morgan brother book, however, and fell in love with it. The writing, the characters, and the story are flawless. It was funny and sexy, just perfect. So, with the third book, Hero, I expected more of the same, and I got sexy and funny, but I

Oh my heart. Colby Morgan has just swooped in & set my soul on fire in the most exquisite way.

I’ve loved the Morgan boys for such a long time now, each one of them carving their own rightful place in my heart, but when I found out Colby was next up, my quiet, brooding, real life hero, I just knew his story would be a heart breaker at every turn & seesh was I right. From start to finish, this gorgeous man & Lydia, his angel sent from heaven, literally blew me away.

Hero (Morgan Brothers) by Lauren Rowe is my second book by this author and it left me kind of confused.

You have to be into InstaLove I think to really fully get into the speed in which the male lead falls for the female lead. And I have to admit I would have never imagined to find it adorable how the male accomplished to flirt while really being high as a kite #me Laughing … So I guess for that part we should not take the story to serious as I could not imagine something like that scene really

Close your eyes...that's right...close them lightly & erase all other thoughts from your mind.
Think Cheese...allow yourself to conjure your most wicked thoughts.
Then think Heat! Feel the slow rising of that temperature?
Turn that Heat up a little more....that's it.
Now watch that Cheese slowly melt down as the Heat permeates the inner layers of that big dollop of goodness....can you see the oozing deliciousness that has now become a smooth creamy expanse of liquified soli

I love Lauren Rowe books almost as much as I have come to love the person. Havent met her yet, but I will.

This is hands down the best book by her EVER!

Though Colby and the fire and his injuries are alluded to in The Club series, this can be read as a standalone. The first few chapters detailing the fire and Colby's heroism is so life like and real I was literally and figuratively sweating and holding my breath!!!!

Hero was raw, emotional, and heartfelt, but also damn sexy and laugh out loud funny! Though this was the 3rd book released in the Morgan Brothers series, chronologically it is the 1st. All the books in the series, however, can be read as stand alones.

The beginning of the book hits you right in the heart and doesn't pull any punches. It was gut wrenching and heartbreaking, but it also set the stage perfectly for the healing journey Lydia and Colby take both individually and together. This book wa

“love doesn’t come tied up in a nice little box with a ribbon around it. Love is messy and scary and full of risk. Love is risk. It’s walking on a tightrope between skyscrapers. It’s being shot out of a cannon and jumping out an airplane at thirty thousand feet and you trusting your parachute will open. And, sometimes, love is watching the one you love walk out the door and knowing he might never come home again because it’s who he is—but you’re willing to love him anyway.” 0 likes
