Kamna is a psychiatrist in Chennai. Her colleague Purush is rich, handsome and madly in love with her. When a dashing stranger, Neel, enters her life, she is drawn to him like a magnet. But then, an intruder crashes into her home and threatens her life. Can Kamna find love amid such danger?
Danger, deception and sizzling chemistry drive the story forward to a crackling climax.
This is a quirky, fast-paced romance that will keep you turning the pages!
Usha Narayanan had a successful career in advertising, media and corporate communications before becoming a full-time author. She has written 'The Madras Mangler', a suspense thriller, and two romances, 'Love,Lies and Layoffs' (Harlequin) and 'Doctor Stalker Spy' (Juggernaut). Her mythological bestsellers from Penguin include 'Pradyumna: Son of Krishna', 'The Secret of God’s Son', 'Prem Purana' and her latest, 'Kartikeya and His Battle with the Soul Stealer'. She combines self help with mythology in 'Awaken the Durga Within', a Rupa release that is now rocking the charts.
When she’s not juggling travelling, writing and interviews, Usha reads everything from thrillers to romances.
Bright beautiful Kamna. Staid but stable Purush. Dashing Neel. This is a trifecta of suspense, glamour and, of course, love! You wouldn’t ordinarily consider a love story a page-turner but this one sure is. Proper Purush is in love with Kamna who likes him and isn’t quite sure about love. Then comes Neel. Who is Neel and why is he here? He is into beautiful Kamna but there is more. The plot moves fast but details aren’t compromised on. Each character is fully developed and they are real people like you and me. Besides being beautiful isn’t all that Kamna does. She is a qualified psychiatrist. She has her own home and is in charge of her life. She is a self-defense expert and can take care of herself. And this is the best part of the book! We have a smart and spunky heroine who isn’t waiting to be rescued, who isn’t waiting for anyone including her family to give her a life. She can take care of her self but like most of us needs a little help in some departments. This book celebrates romance and the many dilemmas we go through choosing a partner. In the process, it also lauds a heroine who is funny, wise and a trusted doctor. Love is important but so are other things in life like getting an education and being professionally respected. This is the perfect read for a long rainy afternoon or interminable airport waits.
Honestly, this book goes on to prove that genre-fixation is hugely overrated. Having read a couple of mythological books from her, I found it hard to believe that Ms Narayan would ever write a Y.A. rom-com. Well, she did, and how well at that !? Doctor, Stalker, Spy is one of the... For complete review, visit my blog https://deepsbookreviews.blogspot.in/...
I've read the author's mythological books, so this was a huge change for me - but I'm very glad I gave it a try. The story had me laughing out loud all the time, sometimes also gasping and worrying. With just the right mix of humour, suspense, witty dialogue and authentic, nicely quirky characters, this story proved to be a thoroughly entertaining read.
A light, breezy read, perfect for a relaxing evening at home. I loved Neel. He was everything a girl could ask for! Can't wait to read Usha's next book...
When I read the blurb I wondered if the theme would be a love-triangle, which I’m not fond of usually. Though the starting indicated that, soon I knew who to root for. I loved every moment of it. The feisty psychologist and the dashing stranger leaves you craving for more.
With an exciting ride with Neal on his bike or the cute moment of picking up the puppy, you will have your heart in a twist in no time. It’s not just the romance but the thrill of it all. You wouldn’t see it coming until late.
Doctor, Spy and Stalker is my first book of Usha Narayanan, but after this book I will certainly grab more books from the author.
Intelligent, strongwilled Kamna, dependable Purush and handsome Neel, is a perfect combination of a romantic tale sprinkled liberally with thrilling elements of a suspense.
Each character is fully developed and are real. The plot moves at a fast pace keeping the readers turning the pages. A perfect read for a long rainy afternoon or free evening.
