Story ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Kam and her team are all jinns and currently hunting for lost souls that Kam accidentally lost on her last mission.
But then in the hunt for all the last souls she gets involved in another hunt for a serial killer.
The whole book was so much fun! It was filled with action, humor and a little bit of love. It was really really good and i will definitely read the next book in line.

Kam is the most experienced Reaper amongst them and it's her job to train the others so they can get the job done as quickly as possible. After pretty much setting seventeen souls free -- though cannot be counted as totally her fault -- Kam and her team which consist of her apprentice Ash and her trainee (also her fiancé) Tahm are tasked to get them back.

First stop is Oklahoma, to catch a goblin soul en-route there. Before they are successful in getting the soul back, they stumble into a banshee soul (recently victim of hit and run) and guess what, the soul manages to escape as well. Then the team finds out t

I enjoyed reading this book. It was fast, and the characters were funny. I tend to be a bit snarky, and I love matching wits with other people. The author did such a great job creating these characters, especially the main character; I see myself hanging out with the main character. The combination of different paranormal creatures works well to drive the plot forward and keep the reader turning the pages to find out what happens next. I thought the author did a great job of creating tension bet ...more

Read in one day. More light-hearted urban fantasy from Naquin. Kam (a djinn and soul-chaser) makes a delightful POV character. I love the world of the Hidden. I was quite intrigued by hints of Tahm and Kam's separate pasts and enjoyed their tentative relationship.

Fave moments: Desktops and Dystopias

This book is fun, interesting, hilarious, and super sassy. I seriously laughed out loud. I can't wait to read more about these characters!

After a their last mission turned into chaos, Hidden Government chaser Kam and her friends must hunt and recapture souls. Seventeen, to be precise. But by the time they chase down the a goblin soul, a banshee gets assassinated, leaving their progress at negative one. The connection between the goblin and her banshee? A cosplay club. Because sometimes monsters like to pretend to be humans dressing up as monsters. As the body count rises and the Hidden cosplayers point fingers at each other, it’s ...more

OK, admittedly I have been kind of spotty about reading this author’s books. I dive in at one point, I get distracted by shiny things, then I dive back in a few books later, etc. This book is no different for me. I missed the first book of the spinoff series here, but ended up picking this one up because I love Kam.

Do you know who Kam is? Even if you don’t, you can probably get along just fine starting from here. Kam is a djinn. She is anything but normal, but is trying to be a relatively normal

The first book in the Djinn Haven series was fun and a little on the campy side, despite the fact that Kam and friends were trying to find a murderer. This second book in the series takes things a tad bit more seriously. Of course, there are still a ton of awkward moments and hilarious banter, but there’s another killer on the loose and on top of that Kam has to deal with a piece of her past (like from a hundred years ago past) that she had initially run away from. Talk about baggage.

Kam still i

Right off the bat I'll say I didn't realize this was a second book. My fault. I loved the Monster Haven books so much that I dived right into this one without checking. It was a bit confusing at first, but one thing I love about this author from previous books is you don't realize you've missed much. The writing was phenomenal and I quickly got into the story. Kam is an absolute nut who I love. She's so confident that even when she's failing she pulls it off. Tahm is still a mystery to me. I fee ...more

Great work

R!.L. Naquin is always worth reading. I believe I've read every word she has released to the public. As usual, her characters are compelling and lovable, and the storyline holds the attention. This time, there's a murder mystery. The clues were there but I would never have guessed. Great work!

I was a bet sceptic when I started reading this book. I thought about a paranormal romance but it turned out to be a very good urban fantasy good. Nice characters, well written, fast paced with an interesting plot.
This is a very good book for both lover of paranormal romance and urban fantasy.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Carina Press

Love it!

Book 2 of the Djinn Haven series is a must read for all paranormal fans. The books are a spin off of the Monster Haven series, which I LOVE, so I really enjoy continuing with Kam’s story.

To Seize a Wayward Spirit is book 2 in the Djinn Haven series. This is a spin off series from the Monster Haven books. I meant to grab this when it was released but I'm glad my library had the audiobook so I could try it out in that format. I really wound up enjoying the book and will have to grab the next one in audio.

Kam and the gang are on the road trying to capture the 17 souls that got loose in the previous book. While they're tracking one down they get assigned to a case of a dead banshee

Kam has always been my favorite Monster Haven character, so I'm loving the Djinn Haven stories. This was a spectacular follow-up to the first Kam book.

Initial Thoughts: Though the humor was less than the previous novel, it was fitting with Kam trying to lead this new troop of chaser/reapers. I enjoyed how she struggles with Tam tagging along as well as her leadership role. Before she was used to floating from gig to gig and only having to worry about herself. Now Kam has a steady paycheck but it comes with two underlings and a mountain of responsibility. Though Kam is still the lovable free spirit, I enjoyed her wrestling with herself along wi ...more
