Swift #3

The Cannon

Rate this book
Sawyer Tom is a tall Texan with an easy smile. It masks his rough start in life.
Now destiny has flipped the story for the baseball phenom, and life’s riches are within his grasp.
But it’s the chance meeting with a beautiful stubborn girl that has him reaching.

Bristol Swift is the only daughter in a Memphis baseball dynasty. What stands out most though, is her apathy to the game and its’ players.
As far as she’s concerned, her medical practice deserves all the attention.

Funny how a look, a touch, one dance, can change two worlds.

Authors note: While this is part of the Swift Series, and can be read as a standalone for best reader experience read them in order.

As with the other books in this series, I loved The Cannon. Leslie has created this world with characters I love that are realistic and create such a great family.

Bristol and Sawyer were fantastic. Their story was so heartwarming and made me swoon. At first Bristol was standoffish and not interested in Sawyer but he wouldn’t give up and she comes around and they were so great and had so much chemistry.

Once again, Leslie shows how important family is and I just love seeing characters from the previous books.

A fun read that had me hooked, go one click!

An arc was provided for an honest review.

I have really been enjoying this series of short romances and this book was no different. It was easy to falling love with Sawyer and Bristol and I was eager to see them figure out how to make their relationship work. I found this to be a really well-done quick listen that told a very complete story. I am so glad that I decided to give this book a try.

Bristol and Sawyer were great together. They had fantastic chemistry and seemed to be perfect for each other. Sawyer is a pitcher for the same team that Bristol’s brother plays for. Bristol is the only member of the Swift family that doesn’t care for baseball but that doesn’t stop sparks from flying once she spends some time with Sawyer. Sawyer has a very complex past and wants to make a difference for those going through some of the things he went through as a child. I thought that Sawyer and Bristol both had big hearts and I loved seeing them work together.

Aaron Shedlock and CJ Bloom did a great job with the narration of this story. I thought that their voices complimented each other very well and I thought that they both did a great job in bringing this story to life. I thought that they both did a good job with both the male and female voices in the story. I feel like their narration added to my overall enjoyment of the story.

I would recommend this story to others. This could work as a stand-alone story but the epilogue did a fantastic job of wrapping up the series so I would have to recommend reading the series in order if at all possible. I had a great time listening to this wonderful romance that had a lot of heart. I look forward to reading more of Leslie Pike’s work in the future.

I received a digital review copy of this book from the author/publicist.

Initial Thoughts
This was good! There were some surprises worked into the story and I did really like Bristol and Sawyer together. I loved the epilogue and thought that it did a fantastic job of wrapping up the series. The narrators did a great job in bringing this story to life.

The Cannon by Leslie Pike was the perfect ending to the amazing Swift family series. Bristol’s character sparked my curiosity when I listened to The Curve and The Closer, so I was super excited to finally listen to her story. Let me tell you, Sawyer Tom is one smooth-talking hunky man, that Bristol cannot resist! (Cue the happy sigh…) Their love story has many layers, along with steamy, and heartfelt moments that will make your heart deliciously happy.

Aaron Shedlock and C.J. Bloom narrate this audiobook. Aaron and C.J.’s performances captured my attention from start to finish, and completely became their characters! Aaron’s crooning portrayal of Sawyer’s confident, charismatic, loving persona was swoon-worthy. Plus, in C.J.’s performance you could feel all of Bristol’s vulnerabilities, but also her strength to give in to her true feelings for Sawyer. Not to mention, Bristol and Sawyer have steamy hot chemistry that will make you melt.

Overall, I enjoyed this audiobook! If you are a fan of a strangers to lovers romance with a hot hunky baseball pitcher, a fierce strong doctor, foster care kids, catching up with the Swift family, bowling mishaps, a date under the stars, Halloween parties, super hot steamy times, ice skating, and a HEA for a perfect little family, then you will love Bristol and Sawyer’s story. I have adored this entire series in audio, and now feel like I am a part of the Swift family! Thank you, Leslie, for another winner!

Bristol and Sawyer's story was the perfect ending to The Swift family series. From the moment Bristol was introduced in her brothers books, The Curve and The Closer I loved her and was excited to get to her story. She is feisty, strong, and quick witted. She is smart as a whip, driven and can hold her own against the strong men in her family. All her life she has been surrounded by sports and baseball as she has been set against dating anyone connected to the sport. However fate had other plans for her when she meets Sawyer. Their chemistry was instant and undeniable from their first meeting.

Sawyer Tom, nicknamed the Cannon took me by surprise. He is a rugged sexy, handsome pitcher for the Mavericks. His upbringing has shaped him into who he is today and his story pulled at my heartstrings. As recommended by his agent, he begins volunteering for a cause near and dear to his heart and meets a young boy named Jude who is a pivotal character and one that will change everything in Sawyer's future in the best possible way.

Aaron Shedlock and CJ Bloom were perfect voices to bring these characters alive. The vulnerability, emotion and strong passion in Aaron's voice were incredibly swoon-worthy and CJ Bloom does an incredible job portraying Bristol's strong confidence and tender heart perfectly.

Leslie Pike concludes this series with the most perfect epilogue. Not only do we get to see where the Swift siblings are at in their lives, we also see their children all grown up and thriving and my heart was so full by the end.

Highly recommend this book and series to any contemporary and sports romance fans.

I usually don’t start with content warnings or include spoilers in my reviews - but I’ll be mentioning these topics.

Content Warning:

Emotional ending to the series. Having lived baseball her entire life Bristol has no intention for falling for a player. Sawyer hasn’t ever had a real family. He immediately falls for her and she realizes he’s not the stereotype she thought.

Lots of fun dates and family functions are the hallmark of this series and I really enjoy that aspect. Relationship-wise Sawyer and Bristol are pretty low angst, however some really tough situations come up for them that make this a particularly emotional listen.

I did love the way Pike wrapped it all up for Sawyer, Bristol, & Jude. Plus, there was a series epilogue that was particularly poignant.

Narration:
CJ Bloom & Aaron Shedlock were perfect. I really enjoyed both of their performances and thought they were a great fit for their respective characters.

I received a free copy of this audiobook from Home Cooked Books and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

3.5 ⭐️s - Bloom and Shedlock Spark Pike’s The Cannon

Story: 3 Stars
Performances: 4 Stars

The third installment in Pike’s Swift siblings series has a likable central couple and the benefit of all the lovable supporting characters from the previous books. Bristol and Sawyer are a sweet couple; I liked that she was the older woman to his younger man. In terms of character development, Sawyer has the lion’s share here. By the end of the book, I felt like I knew him far better than Bristol, despite having seen her previously in each of her brothers’s stories. However, when H and h are together on the page, its enjoyable (the karaoke scene was a particular favorite and as was the ice rink). What was less enjoyable were the subplots; there are at least two, but only one gets room to go anywhere. Sawyer’s reunion with his long lost sister was a bit undercooked and felt like it was just thrown in; never led anywhere interesting. The Jude story line was much superior and aided Sawyer’s arc far better. Another negative is that, towards the end it felt like angst was piled on and then swept away rather too casually given the nature of the “twists”. Still, I did enjoy Bristol and Sawyers chemistry and how he fit so well with the Swift clan.

The audio performances were excellent. CJ Bloom was at her usual best; so, though I wish the character had be better developed on the page, Bloom had me rooting for Bristol more than I might have. Aaron Shedlock was well-cast as Sawyer; just the right balance of charm and vulnerability. Their performances allowed the audiobook to do exactly what an effective audiobook should - elevated the story.
Overall this was worth a listen, whether you want to round out the Pike series or enjoy a superior audio performance by two gifted narrators.

I received an ALC of this audiobook via Home Cooked Books.

I just loved Bristol and Sawyer together. Emotional & heart-warming!

(Audio Review)
Having grown up with (and lived and breathed) baseball all her life. And coming from a Memphis baseball dynasty, Bristol is literally surrounded by the sport and has ultimately concluded that she does not want to date/fall for a baseball player. Enter, Sawyer.

Sawyer, with his easy smile and laidback personality, pursues Bristol. And even though at first Bristol was not interested in Sawyer, he doesn’t give up. She slowly comes around and they both fall for each other.

They were honestly so fantastic together! And I just loved their chemistry! I especially fell for Sawyer, he legit had me swooning! 😍🥰❤️

Their story was beautiful, it was complex, with many layers. And whilst some parts were hard to listened to, it was all worth it with the beautiful conclusion! I especially enjoyed the epilogue and loved how it not only wrapped up this book, but also wrapped up the series nicely.

As usual, I also enjoyed the appearances from the rest of the Swift family. As always, the banter was great. And I love the family’s close-knit dynamics and their interactions.

The Cannon by Leslie Pike was truly an absolute amazing ending to the series.

The narration was great as always! The narrators really did a fabulous job and I loved it! Narrated by Aaron Shedlock and CJ Bloom, they really brought this story to life.

Sports romance for the win!
Bristol and Sawyer can't deny the chemistry. Age is just a number to these two and I loved that it wasn't made a big deal.
Sawyer is a famous pitcher and is recognize a lot, but I love that he makes time for the fans.
The heart wrenching emotions this book give you but with the heartwarming feels it balances out but you have to go through it.
I feel like this book centers around family and how it blended and everyone is included. It gives you that feeling like no matter what everything will be ok even dealing with the heavy that life brings.

Aaron Shedlock is a favorite of mine, he really give voice to Sawyer. And CJ Bloom is incredible with female voices whether they are young or old she gives them just the right tone.

Sawyer shows that you can be a member of a sports team and still be honorable. He is creative when he decides he wants to meet someone. Bristol is a woman who doesn’t seem to mingle with those men that play ball – her brothers being the exception. She’s not easily impressed.

After getting through the first two books in The Swift series, I knew that I was going to have to listen to this one as well. I’m glad that the author had two new narrators with this book. Since the main male characters are her brothers, it made sense to have the same narrator voice those books. It gives us a new perspective of the main characters – just like in real life, we all have different voices.

Mr. Shedlock and Ms. Bloom are voice actors that I’m familiar with and enjoy listening to the books they’re associated with. Mr. Shedlock has me create a picture of what Sawyer may look like and how he is likely to act as I get to know him. Ms. Bloom shows me what makes Bristol so special and how different she is from her brothers. Put these two together and the chemistry of our main characters are off the charts. They also do a great job in creating different voices depending on the character that is speaking.

Our author shows that Bristol’s story needs more time than her brothers. All good things take time. After all, our main characters meet as strangers. But the fun begins after the introductions are made. This story wraps up the series and the author doesn’t rush anything in order to get us to the epilogue. I’ve enjoyed getting to know this family and was a little disappointed as it came to an end but since I have all three audiobooks, just like any good friend, I can visit the Swift family any time I want.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Audiobook Review

The Cannon is the bittersweet,  beautiful conclusion to the Swift Series where we finally get Bristol Swift’s story.

Bristol is not the biggest of fans of Baseball despite her family’s ties to the game. She has no desire to date any players but when “the Cannon” Sawyer Tom is traded to the Mavericks he pursues her until she can’t deny the attraction anymore and realizes this baseball player may just make her love the game….

I loved Sawyer and Bristol! These two were made for each other.  Sawyer had a pretty rough start in life but none of it defined him or made him bitter. He was a dream so sweet and caring and compassionate. He just fit so well with the Swift Family. He fell for Bristol immediately and was not swayed by her reluctance. Bristol realized what a good man he was and couldn’t deny the attraction they had. Their relationship developed easily once she opened up to the possibility of them. They were fun and honest and damn HOT together.

This story had so many layers, and it flowed flawlessly. It was hilarious and Heartwarming. A story about family and the bonds they share rather by blood or by choosing, about finding the type of forever love that you build a life and home with no matter what unexpected turns may come. I laughed and cried and then listened to my favorite chapters again! 5/5⭐️ from me.

Aaron Shedlock and CJ Bloom did an excellent job with narration. They brought all the flirty, sexy fun and emotionally charged moments to life. The perfect fit for Sawyer and Bristol!

I cannot recommend this series enough. I love the entire Swift Family from the grandparents to the pets and everyone in between definitely worth checking out

Oh my gosh, I was not expecting to go through all the emotions as I listened to “The Cannon”. I have grown fond of the Swift Family as I’ve listened to the other books. There’s only three siblings in the family but I could easily read ten books about this family and never get bored.

Bristol has never been a fan of baseball but has always supported her brother. But when Sawyer, AKA The Cannon, comes to the Mavericks, he has her sights set on her. Not immune to his charm, she gives him a chance and they start an amazing relationship.

I’m not even exaggerating when I say that I went through all the emotions with this story. Sawyer’s back story had my heart hurting for him but it made him stronger and who he is. Sawyer is a fun, happy guy and just lights up the room and whomever he is around at the time. Bristol is a doctor and I love that she has such a different profession than her brothers. Bristol truly cares about everyone and her family. I loved these two together and everything that they are. I will never get enough of any of the scenes with the Swift Family that has grown over these three books. The epilogue had me crying but they were all good tears.

Aaron Shedlock and CJ Bloom were PERFECT as Sawyer and Bristol. The story was definitely emotionally driven, Aaron and CJ’s performance was one of the best either has done. I’ve listened to a lot of audiobooks by them and this book has moved to the top 3 narrated by either of them.

It's Bristol Swift's turn for romance in The Cannon . She absolutely hates everything about baseball, that is until Sawyer "The Cannon" Tom joins the Mavericks and sets his eyes on her. Bristol at first comes off as standoffish and at all interest in him but that doesn't stop him from going after what he wants. He's able to win her over with a little help of his Texas charm.

Leslie Pike gives her readers another story. She does a phenomenal job creating a world that is very realistic and knows just how important family is. I absolutely loved this book. It is full of heartwarming emotions, the family dynamic was perfect, the writing was great. In other words, it had everything. I can't wait to see what Pike has up her sleeve for her readers next.

I was given an ALC of this book from Home Cooked Books. I thoroughly enjoyed this narration. The Cannon is narrated by CJ Bloom and Aaron Shedlock. These two narrators were perfect as Bristol and Sawyer. CJ brings a vulnerability that really brings Bristol's hesitancy to get involved with Sawyer to life. Aaron is so charming as Sawyer, he had me in the palm of his hand with that Texas charm.

What a heartwarming, sweet romance story! The Cannon is the third book in the Swift family series and I once again fell in love with this family. Bristol and Sawyer were perfection.

Sawyer is an absolute sweetheart. So kind and caring and completely in love with Bristol from his first look at her. Bristol was a little resistant at first but it doesn’t take her long to realize what a gem Sawyer is. They were both terrific characters that face any obstacle together and with so much love and understanding.

Aaron Shedlock and CJ Bloom narrated the audiobook and they were perfect as Bristol and Sawyer. They brought such joy and enthusiasm to the narration and it really made the characters come to life.

Full of so much emotion and heart and family, this story will tug at your heartstrings. That epilogue almost had me in tears because of how bittersweet and emotional it was. I can’t recommend this entire series enough if you like strong, likeable characters with well thought stories that will make you feel.

The Cannon is book three in the Swift series written by the fabulously talented Leslie Pike and is the story of Bristol Swift and Sawyer Tom.
Bristol is an intriguing heroine. The sister of Brick and Atticus and despite the Swifts being a Memphis baseball dynasty, Bristol is laser focused on her medical career and does her best to avoid not only the sport but advances from the players. That is until one dance one evening with Sawyer Tom changes everything. Sawyer gets under her skin and slowly but surely manages to bring down the walls she’s built.
Sawyer (The Cannon) Tom is the hot new pitcher for the Memphis Mavericks and has a panty melting smile that has women falling at his feet, but his winning smile is hiding the rough start he had in life and the scars it left behind. Sawyer is fearless, determined, independent, focused and isn’t afraid to go after what he wants, and his sights are set on one Bristol Swift.
CJ Bloom and Aaron Shedlock bring Bristol and Sawyer to life in this amazing conclusion to the Swift series and my goodness they are incredible. They brought the heat, emotion, love and all the feels. I couldn’t have loved this duo taking the reigns on this more. These seasoned pros were the perfect choice to bring this series to a loved up, emotional, perfect close.
I loved everything about not only about The Cannon but every book in the Swift family saga. Leslie Pike takes sports romance to a whole new level with her incredible writing style, attention to detail and awesome characters. I cannot recommend this author and series enough. Ms Pike hit a home run with The Cannon. The words will move you and burn up your earbuds leaving you totally enamoured with not only this book but the entire series from start to finish.

This one brought it all out of me! The tears, the overwhelming love felt and some happy, laughing times. This story blew me away..it is soo good! My favorites are the Little Thanks game, the proposal and that epilogue?? Brought tears to my eyes. I just love everything about this one.

Bristol is a firecracker who hates baseball and Sawyer, a pitcher, wants her and does everything he can think of to win her over. That includes time spent with her family which makes for some laugh-out-loud moments. This incudes but is not limited to..the bowling incident, the pickle test…and OMG the Halloween parties!! I really could not get enough of Bristol’s grand/parents and brothers and spouses.

Overall this is a WINNER! I highly recommend if you enjoy wacky families, sweet and sincere characters and like a feel good story. I did listen to this on audio. Aaron Shedlock and CJ Bloom are the perfect narrators for this one. They really brought this story to life.

“That kiss is either going to kill me or set me free.”
❤️
Ahhhh Swoon. (insert photo of me with hearts circling my head)
What a sweetheart Sawyer is….A hot, sexy sweetheart with a depth of character that will melt hearts.

CJ Bloom narrates Bristol Swift and Aaron Shedlock voices the rookie baseball player Sawyer Tom. Bristol is a woman who wants to be reserved and in control but is hiding her deep emotions. Bloom embodies that well. Her range of vocals, from men, to the elderly and other accents is stellar. Shedlock perfectly voices Sawyer and his female and child voices are very believable.

Although I haven’t read the first two books in the series I didn’t need to. Those characters were a part of this 3rd book but not in a way that detracted from the overall story. I never felt like I missed something. I’m excited to back track and read the other books.

I loved that Bristol and Moss aren’t playing games and are honest with each other and their feelings. Sawyers open heart is so refreshing for a male MC. I ate it up. Sometimes I felt that this story was a bit too perfect, but, you know, it’s a romance and that’s why I’m reading them… to be taken away on a perfect romantic ride. Up until the very end I was giving this the highest marks for a story that did not use cliché drama to grab all the feels. I loved that it is relatively low drama and low angst with an interesting story that kept me riveted the whole time. And so when the author threw in a grenade of sorts, at least in my opinions, it wasn’t necessary. Hence the 4 star rating instead of 5.

I definitely recommend this book/audio.

*** AUDIOBOOK REVIEW***
Another wonderfully, heartfelt, charming and steamy romance from Leslie Pike. The Cannon features Bristol Swift and Sawyer Tom, two people who find what they are looking for in a surprising way. Their story is not only steamy but heartfelt and beautiful. Sawyer and Bristol find the missing piece in their lives that make them complete. Their chemistry is scorching. I loved the way Sawyer was not just a typical baseball hotshot but he was real, vulnerable and so dreamy. He showed Bristol there was more to him than just another young player in the major leagues. Bristol was incredible. Not only was she an amazing doctor but she was also strong, independent and took no crap from anyone. I loved how Bristol and Sawyer’s relationship progressed from friends to lovers, quickly. Aaron Shedlock and CJ Bloom narrate this audiobook. They do a wonderful job bringing Sawyer and Bristol to life. I enjoyed their narration and they way they capture all the emotions. This was the perfect end to the series! I would definitely be adding more of Leslie Pike’s books to my TBR.

This is book 3 in Pike's Swift series and I think the last in the series. A wonderfully well written romance that's bitter sweet. I loved these characters and the family connections. This book brings everything to a beautiful conclusion and along the way are plenty of sweet romantic moments, a bit of steamy chemistry and a whole lot of love. Main characters in this read are Sawyer and Bristol but the whole Swift family and some new additions complete this family bunch. Perfect dual narration - love, love, love these voices and how these characters leapt from the speakers and into my heart. I hope this collection is the first in many from Pike that I'll have the opportunity to listen and enjoy!

I received this book free at my request and I voluntarily provided this review.

This was such a great finish to the Swift series. I really enjoyed The Curve and The Closer and I knew I would equally enjoy The Cannon. Sawyer Tom (what a cute name) was just the best hero. I wanted to jump into this book so many times and hug him. He was smooth talking but it wasn't just words, he truly meant the things that he said to Bristol. He was immediately drawn to her and while she was intrigued by him, he was not her normal type of guy. Mainly because he was a ballplayer and she just didn't want anything to do with that.

Bristol and Sawyer's story was full of heat and steam but also some sweet and heartbreaking/heartwarming moments. This book was narrated by Aaron Shedlock and CJ Bloom. They both had absolutely fantastic performances and I realized that I need to listen to both of these narrators a lot more often.

Definitely recommend this series to anyone that enjoys a wonderful love story with amazing family connections and bonds.

Make sure you have Kleenex for this one. Bristol Swift despises everything to do with baseball, that is until Sawyer "The Cannon" Tom joins the Mavericks and has his eyes set on her. Through his Texas charm he wins her heart. But will the baggage he brings to the table with his foster care history be too much for him to work through to become part of the Swift clan? Or will Sawyer and Bristol make the perfect pair that can get through anything life throws in their way? Highly emotional...I must have ugly cried twice and yelled at my Kindle once. The two characters have so much love in their hearts but they are both unsure if they can give it away. I felt their connection with every turn of the page. This was the best book in the series.

*Audiobook Review*

Oh My Goodness! Leslie Pike has a gift for writing romance that tugs at the heartstrings! The Cannon is the third installment of The Swift series and focuses on Bristol, the only Swift sister. Bristol is a lovable, take-no-shiz doctor and the only Swift sibling not living the pro sports life. We met Bristol in The Curve, Atticus and Charlotte’s story. She was an instant charmer and destined to be a book bestie. Sawyer Tom is the new pitcher for the Memphis Mavericks, and boy does he have a cannon. Not one to fall easily for his moves, Sawyer has to bring the heat to win Bristol over. She doesn’t just play hard to get, she’s hard to impress. I love the natural, flirty back & forth between Bristol and Sawyer. This big city romance with a small-town feel is a must-listen!

Stash the tissues closeby for this audio. The Cannon is not your average baseball romance! It is a teammate’s sister, southern charm, tear-jerker romance. The Swift family is a quirky, endearing, completely loveable group of characters. Listening to The Cannon was bittersweet. I adore the Swifts and I’m sad the series is over. The characters are enchanting, the stories are unique, and the heroes are totally swoon-worthy. Leslie’s way of weaving together a big funny family, a bit of drama, spicy romance, and a whole lot of heart is wonderful.

CJ Bloom and Aaron Shedlock are magnificent! CJ Bloom is one of my favorite narrators. She perfectly portrays the snarky, straightforward, brilliant Bristol. Aaron Shedlock’s performance of Sawyer, the irresistible, seductive cinnamon roll. This awesome duo will make you laugh, cry, and swoon time and again. You won’t want to miss this audio, and I highly recommend listening in order. The Curve, The Closer, and the Cannon are amazing. You’ll fall for the Swifts and their HEAs.

The Cannon is the third and final book in the Swift series by Leslie Pike. This is a great story filled with chemistry, southern charm, humor and romance. Sawyer had a tough upbringing, but now uses his fame for good. Bristol grew up in a baseball world and never wanted to fall for a baseball player. As he continues to charm her and she continues to get closer to him, the chemistry in undeniable. The subplot is one that will tug on your heartstrings. It was a fantastic way to wrap up the Swift series!

CJ Bloom and Aaron Shedlock narrate this story and did an excellent job! CJ Bloom never fails to make you feel all the emotions and Aaron Shedlock was perfect as a Texas charmer! I highly recommend listening to all 3 books in this romantic, baseball series!

This one was unexpected in a great way!

I liked the other audiobooks in the series, and I started this one expecting a quick, low angst story. I’m not a fan of relationship drama so I was a little worried about how much longer this book was compared to the previous ones in the series, but I really loved the direction the story took. It’s so much more than girl meets boy. It addresses some tough subjects, but I loved that the complexity in the story isn't based on relationship drama. It’s also great to see the evolution with the rest of the Swift family members from the previous books. This was my favorite of the series.

I listened to the audio version. Aaron Shedlock and CJ Bloom did a fantastic job with the narration and really enhanced the story.

I received a copy of the audiobook at my request, and the opinions here are my own.

The Cannon by Leslie Pike was a superb read!
Another great addition to the Swift family books. This third instalment was Bristol and Sawyer's story.
Such a great family and so much love they shared between them and radiated to others!
Both Bristol and Sawyer were great, loveable characters, they warmed my heart with their personalities and the way they went about everything in their lives.
I just loved this love story. That epilogue! OMG I loved it even more.

Leslie Pike did great again with this story. I loved the writing, the heartwarming emotions, the family dynamic, the characters - everything was just right. Little Thanks around the family table teared me up big time.

I received an ARC of The Cannon, so lucky me, I was able to read it already and I'm here to give you my honest opinion of Leslie's newest book. I loved the first two books in this series, and the third was the cherry on top. Bristol and Sawyer... 😍😍😍 This story really tugged on my heart strings. I won't give anything away, but this book gave me all the feels. Loved it! I told myself I was going to read two chapters then clean my house. Nope. Read the entire thing in one sitting. You won't be able to put it down once you open it.

And that’s what I’ve come to love about this authors books-The focus on family and the warmth that brings to her stories.
The story is full of emotions and everything good I’ve come to love about this series.
Again, I love that family in all its forms is such an important aspect and it brings all the “feels”.
Swoon worthy, heartwarming and amazing!
LOVE!!

The Canon is the final book in the Swift Series. This family is fantastic and I enjoyed the appearances from the characters in the previous books.

I really enjoy this reverse age gap, sport related story. Sawyer has an instant attraction to Bristol…takes her a bit longer to warm up. They have a beautiful romance and find they have a lot in common. They help each other through some issues and both come out stronger in the end.

Aaron Sherlock and CJ Bloom do an excellent job with the narration. The emotion and depth they bring to each character makes the story they much better.

I received a complimentary copy and I am leaving my honest review.

This is the third book in the Swift series, a Sports Romance. I love this series. This is a standalone in the series, but it is definitely better to listen to this series in order. Sawyer and Bristol's story is beautifully written, sweet, and very emotional. I loved to follow them in their journey to love. The supporting characters are great. Aaron Shedlock and CJ Bloom did an outstanding job with the narration. I enjoyed it. I highly recommend this series.

OMG... The narrators for this book nailed it. Sawyer is all growly and soft at the same time. He is a true gentleman and determined to get her to be his. Bristol is sweet, independent, strong and all female.
Sawyer knows he must have her from first meet. So he sets out to woo her. These two have instant chemistry. Truly enjoyed all the sensual build up to them finally coming together. These two are hot!
They have to navigate family issues as well as personal. They are each others rock. They have so many twists to navigate. Gave me all the feels, laughed and cried. The rest of the Swift family are amazing. They once again come together to support each other. So beautifully written. Love their HEA. A fantastic way to end the series.

The Cannon
Swift Series book 3
By Leslie Pike
Narrated by Aaron Shedlock and CJ Bloom

I absolutely love this series. The first two books had my heart, but when tears streamed down my face, I know this was my favorite. Sawyer Tom didn't have it easy. A foster care child, he made the best of every family he was with, but now his life is about to turn around. Pitcher for the Mavericks, he has the chance to meet the only sister of the Swift brothers, and to say Bristol has caught his eye is an understatement. Bristol is a strong, independent woman. She has no interest in baseball, but after some nudging gives Sawyer a chance. And our story begins. This love affair is not like others. It holds secrets like some, but the underlying feeling of love is ever present regardless of the circumstances. Their secrets are a definite relationship breaker though, and when revealed, will they be able to survive it? Add in a ten year old boy that will steal your heart and the Swift family from grandparents to new babies and this book had every feeling. My heart was full when I finished. While this book does stand alone, I suggest you listen to them in order. They are all amazing!

Now the narration. It's no secret that Aaron Shedlock is a favorite of mine, but when he gives an emotional performance like this one, I realize just why I love him. He pulls out all the stops with this one and gave me all the feels. CJ Bloom compliments his voice and creates Bristol. She has a powerful voice, and delivers Bristol as the strong woman she is. I love this team and this book. It is one that you do not want to miss.
