Saturday Night at the Movies!

I have watched a lot of B-Movies over the years. And C and D listed, too. This book is about the B List ones that are popular because they are...

Just like those crazy movies I grew up watching, there is a lot of variety here. I have to confess l still enjoy a good B movie, particularly the ones that are science fiction.

Despite the title of the book is B Movie, the stories here are first rate. I’m sure you would really love them. Just give them a try.

My latest dip into the collection of anthologies under the Future Chronicles banner deals with the good old "B-Movie" genre and the authors who contributed work really let themselves have fun. This anthology contains nine stories with subjects covering the whole spectrum from Invading Aliens, Vengeful Spirits, Kungfu Mummies and of course Clowns. I enjoyed every single story and that has to be perhaps the best recommendation I can give, they were all different but entertaining and Samuel can be proud of putting together this anthology.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways!

10 delicious stories of such horror I dreamt I was Plagued by Bubbles of Friendship and Gorillabots. My Nightmare of Kung Fu Mummies on Boone Ridge left me with Jeffboy who sadly didn't believe in Drop Bears. So what? My heart stopped beating long before I got to the party.

I highly recommend this book. But take a Dramamine, it's a wild ride. If you have a pain pill, that might help too...and something for your blood pressure? If you have heart problems you might want to read slowly, and have the whisky handy for the total heartbreak at the end.

I have to call out Artie Cabrera, son you can write! I hope everyone will join me in hounding (snicker) you for a series! I need a map to Boone Ridge, those are some fine folks, and really interesting critters!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was my first foray into the "Chronicles" series but it certainly won't be my last. I had read some of the authors previous works but it has also introduced me to authors I was previously unaware of.

These stories were, for the most part, brilliant and completely fit the genre they were intended for. The stand out stories for me were "Plagued" by Matt Stott, "Bubbles" by Eamon Ambrose and "Drop Bears" by S. Elliot Brandis.

Unfortunately there were two stories which were a little weak in my opinion which drags the overall score down, but trust me, overall this is still a very worthwhile read. 4/5

Like any collection, there were one or two that weren't that good (to me), but some else may love them. Overall, though, this was a pretty good collection.

And the ending of the last story made the whole book.

Christopher J. Valin's story, Gorillabot vs Mermaids from Neptune is a fast paced ride that takes you back to the days of giant monster movies. It is almost non-stop action on every page. Highly recommend.this one as I already want to read it again.
