This is a sweet and sexy sports/celebrity romance with a drunken Vegas wedding, a marriage of convenience, and a heartfelt, functional love story that takes both characters by surprise. A whole heap of my favourite tropes all together in one book, and I enjoyed this one.

This is book #7 in the Las Vegas Sidewinders series, but it can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read any of the other books in this series, and I was easily able to immerse myself in the world of these

Kat Mizera scores with BROCK, the seventh book in the Las Vegas Sidewinders series. NHL defenseman Brock Lassiter and actress Ashleigh Hunter did not remember getting married on their date. However, the situation could work in both their favor. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult audience.

Kat Mizera does a great job with her character development and plot. Ashleigh is a noble character. I like that she wants to adopt Bella Reardon. She doesn’t fit the stereotype of Hollywood s

Two Man Advantage by Toni Aleo Toni Aleo lights the lamp with TWO MAN ADVANTAGE.  I had been looking forward to reading Wells Lemiere’s and Matty Haverbrooke’s story ever since I finished IN THE CREASE (Assassins #15). Wells is the BFF of Assassins’ Jensen Monroe and Vaughn Johansson (DELAYED CALL, Assassins #13).  IN THE CREASE was Jensen and Wells’ sister, Wren’s book.  They were attending Well’s wedding to another man, which Matty objected to at the end of their story.  Needless to say, it ma ...more

The Sidewinders are back…

I love this over the top, drama to the nth degree series and couldn’t have been more excited for the latest instalment. Brock and Ashleigh both have reasons to shy away from serious relationships. They have cause to be wary, but watching them both rail against it, while slowly but surely, getting pulled in, was music to my eyes!

“This felt normal, and she loved it, which scared the crap out of her.”

Been going back and forth on how to rank this. I’ll eventually figure it out. For right now it’s a 3.5 star and if anything changes then I’ll change the ranking myself.

That being said - I loved the book. I thought it was stellar. However - I had some irks about it.

Maybe it is because I am a mother myself but it still irked me. I know it’s supposed to be a book that has these scenes, I just believed it could have been handled a little differently.

For example, to not give away anything major, w
Brock: Las Vegas Sidewinders (Book 8) – When stars collide, they ignite!! (5 stars)

Brock is the eighth novel in Kat Mizera’s Las Vegas Sidewinders series and this story captivates you right from the beginning. As with all her novels, it is endearing and complex with a little bit of sweet and a whole lot of sexy!!! If you had the opportunity to read the last book (or any of her novels), this one is even better and how could it not be when the characters are well thought out and engaging, not to m

There were parts of this book that I really enjoyed, and there were parts that seemed a little off to me.
Oddly, they were pretty evenly spaced throughout the whole book.

Brock and Ashleigh meet because one of Brock's teammates is dating one of Ashleigh's friends, and the relationship and the attraction worked for me, they seemed first. But, the accidental marriage never felt totally right for me. There were comments made by other charact

I have never read a book by Kat Mizera and was so glad to have the chance, loved it. I would say that this is a series, most say that this is a standalone. so at times I felt lost or confused, that a piece of the puzzle was missing, I love series, you can see that in my love of books, put me with a bunch of books to read that are about a bunch of hottie sportie guys I am so there!!! so maybe in my humble opinion you might wish to read others before you jump into book #7 ... like I did. but I am ...more

Brock (Las Vegas Sidewinders) by Kat Mizera
What would you do for love? Love of sport and a connection of the heart are key factors that Ms. Mizera takes on in her latest Sidewinders. Intense emotion leads to heartwarming moments and humorous antics for the actress and the hockey star. Love brings them together, but not for each other. Hockey is Brock's mistress of choice. The adrenaline rush, adoring fans and bad choices feed his ego and land him on the brink of losing it all. Ashleigh is a wo

Better to love than love without

This book could be read as a standalone. BUT, I would read them in order. I think you get a better look at all the characters. Amd can understand more of what is going on. This book is about Brock he is a hockey player on the Las Vegas Sidewinders hockey team. He has had a few issues over the years that have left him in some hot water with the association. Looking to clean up his image so he can continue to play. He meets Ashleigh. She is an actress and works with

Las Vegas Sidewinders: Brock by Kat Mizera
Another fantastic installment of the Las Vegas Sidewinder series. We have grown to love Kat’s writing style and she never ceases to amaze this reader with her unique twist on classic romance. Even though we know there will be a happy ending (at least we hope so) the journey through the pages to get there is where the magic happens.
This latest installment of the series is standalone however I would recommend reading all the books in the series. You may as

Brock Lassiter has everything he wants out of life . . . a professional hockey player for the Las Vegas Sidewinders, he just needs to keep his nose clean and avoid any more bad press and stay out of trouble so the team renews his contract. He also wants to avoid any sort of relationship past a one night stand at all costs . . . being cheated on once was enough.

Ashleigh Hunter seems to be living a charmed life as a co-star on a hot tv show. Having come from poverty, however, she loves giving back
The quality of story telling, character building and scene setting is excellent and would normally push this book into a 5 star read. Overall I liked the characters in this book, whilst their jobs weren't 'everyday' their thoughts, feelings and actions felt very real. They both had their faults and imperfections too. I enjoyed the story and read into the early hours to finish it. However there were a couple of things that just stopped it achieving the full 5 stars, which I'll come to later.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. There are 5 other books in this series  but their descriptions were not the types of books I like but this one sounded really good. Fake marriage, Las Vegas, hockey player and actress and a kid. So I really wanted to read it.

I am happy to say I really LOVED it! This is the story about Ashleigh, an actress in Hollywood who is popular, I would say a B level actress. She has a su

We start out the book meeting Mr. Cumberland, Ashleigh, and Angel. They're discussing someone namd Bella. Who are they all? What do they each do for a living? It is heartbreaking at first, with what is being discussed and the disagreements on Angel's side of things. When we next see Ashleigh, she is with her friend Rachel at work. They're discussing Rachel's boyfriend, Vlad. When Rachel says she is going to Las Vegas for the weekend, she tries to get Ashleigh to go with her, saying she needs a m ...more

Brock was a defensemen for the Las Vegas Sidewinders hockey club. He's been in trouble but he really is trying to be a good boy. He's not interested in what the club is asking of him. He doesn't want a wife, even if temporarily. But then he meets Ashleigh and she is everything he ever dreamed of.
Ashleigh is a movie star or at least she is trying to be. She co stars in a tv series and is trying to adopt an 7 year old little girl named Bella. She fell in love with Bella the

I love a good hockey romance and Brock delivered! He's a hot and sexy hockey player, who is a definite bad boy. He's gotten into so much trouble that he is walking a thin line and may be losing his spot on the team. When he meets the beautiful and talented Ashleigh, he knows he wants her in his life.

I loved Ashleigh immediately. She is young and trying to adopt Bella, an orphan girl that she has been taking care of. It's definitely not easy because Bella's older sister doesn't want to let Bella

And SCORE for Kat Mizera!!! I ADORED Brock!!! I'm a HUGE fan of this author. One thing I've come to love and expect from her, are these PERFECT, SEXY, PASSIONATE insta-loves she creates sooooo well!!! Not only do we have the huge Insta-love, but we get a hockey romance thrown in!!! Double plus!!!

Ashleigh has had a tough childhood, raised by a single mom, homeless a few times, she's struggled and paved her way to Hollywood. Now she's the co-star in a TV show. I felt I really could relate to her.

Brock by Kat Mizera is book seven of the Las Vegas Sidewinders Series. This book was very well written and was a very quick read. I had a hard time putting it down to get my work done. This book is a Hockey sports romance so if you love those types of books you will love this one. Brock Lassiter is an NHL Hockey Player which means he is in tip top shape and of course good looking. Due to something that happened earlier in his life he has gone down the road of getting into trouble and has

This is the first book by this author that I have read and I found myself really enjoying it. I'm not a huge fan of "fake" marriages but this one made sense to me. I enjoyed getting to know Brock, Ashleigh, Bella and the rest of the supporting characters. I, however, wasn't always a fan of Ashleigh's. I can understand her trust issues and her desire to do as good as she possibly could. But she seemed to keep pulling herself in and not letting things out. Though I enjoy sports romance themed stories, this is the first one I've ever read about a hockey athlete. Let me just say, Kat Mizera has certainly won me over. I thoroughly enjoyed Brock and Ashleigh's story and I can't wait to go back and read the other books in this series.

Brock Lassiter took me by complete surprise. I liked the bit of temperament about him and felt it really helped in developing his character. As I mentioned, with this being my first hockey read, I wasn't prepared for the

AMAZING! This is not your typical Kat Mizera book, where you know the other shoe is going to drop and a serious plot twist is going to grab your heart and twist! But, it is the best of Kat's writing, sucks you in with all the words and beautifully written characters. NOPE, this one is just all the wonderful feels and warm fuzzies.

Brock is just one hot, hunky, sexy hockey player. But of course, he has his moments, I meant don’t they all. He is a player after all. He has sworn off relationships,

This was such a great story! Brock & Ashleigh were such an adorable couple. There were so many emotions, twists and turn, it made for a great story!

Brock and Ashleigh had such great chemistry, just from the moment they locked eyes. I think this helped so much with being married while drunk. But, because they drunk married, they had so many different trust and relationship issues to get over. Those two things really made me want to strangle these two a few times, they kept things in and didn'

This story, like all the other Las Vegas Sidewinders stories, is so good and just sucks you in from page 1. Brock is just a sweetheart, even when he doesn't think he is. He definitely is a heart warmer, for sure! And Ashleigh taps into the insecurities that I think everyone has had at one time or another. Yes she's on TV but she has a horrible self-esteem in herself, both in personality, physicality and sexuality.

Ashleigh is a single, 25-year old TV star (think maybe C list) who is trying to ado

This was an entertaining read.

In here we meet Brock and Ashleigh, two people with only friends in common. They have a great night together and then they wake up realizing that they had a little bit more fun than what they thought, lol.

Anyway, this isn’t such a bad thing, since it actually works in their benefit to stay like this. Ashleigh needs to show stability if she wants to adopt Bella (a little girl who REALLY needs stability in her life); and Brock needs to show he can have a ser
