Emma
A baby is all I've ever wanted.
After almost dying on the operating table,
I despise everything about motherhood,
especially the little girl I brought into this world.
It makes me sound awful; hell; I am awful.
How can I make myself fall in love with a baby
I feel no attachment to?

Tyler
I don’t recognize my wife anymore.
When I thought I might lose Emma during our baby’s deli

If I had to use just two words to describe Unwanted they would be heartbreakingly beautiful. Fortunately, I do not need to limit myself to just two words. The synopsis alone is enough to suggest just how intense this book is going to be – but even that fails to prepare you for this story that will really test your ability to read the hard-hitting subjects.

Although Unwanted is a wonderful book you can read as a standalone novel, I would suggest reading the prior stories connected to this one. Lei

A novel that will have you feeling long after the last word is written. Compassionate, heart pounding and an emotional read of how a traumatic event can cause multiple emotions in a relationship and can hinder a family. Leigh Lennon has given us an amazing and powerful novel in Unwanted.

Unwanted is a book that delivers sadness, grief, heartache, longing and eventually joy. An abundance sensations that Leigh takes you on within her w

When I first received this book I read the first two chapters, then I had to put it down. I took a break and then devoured the rest of the book in one day!! It was that freaking amazing! I know that the subject matter is a touchy one and it's not for everyone. It's beautifully written in dual perspectives, it's so easy to say Emma is a hard pill to swallow. But I could feel her emotions and understood her trauma. That being said Tyler was a saint, I don't think I could have done what he did for ...more

This was my first read from this author and not my usual type of book but I really enjoyed it. The story revolves around the very real, heartbreaking issue of post partum depression.

Emma and Tyler's love story is not a simple one and there are many emotional scenes in this book. The author did a great job of showing both POVs with this difficult subject.

I received an arc of this book.

Unwanted is certainly a book that will stay with you long after the final word has been read, it’s a beautifully written, heartbreaking story that touched me on so many levels and it’s left me with one of the biggest book hangovers ever. I really think you need to read this book with no preconceived ideas so my review will be short and sweet.

This book had a lot of heart-break. Pregnancy experience is different for everyone. In fact, when discussed, everyone has something unique to say about their experience. Postpartum depression is such a rare topic for books to showcase. This story shows the plight of a new mother unable to feel anything for a new born. It shows how the husband tries to put his family back together. It shows love, compassion, understanding, support we get from our families.

The plot itself was pretty straight forw

Wow

An extremely emotional read for me. A tragic story that turns into something beautiful. Emma's struggle was at times hard to read but it sheds a light on a subject that seems to be swept under the rug a lot. Bravo!

I am sitting here trying to gather my thoughts about Unwanted. I am having a hard time doing this. I have tried to write this review more than once and yet I just can’t get my words right to express my feelings. I guess I should note that when I had my son I had post-partum depression on top of out of control anxiety and while I was nowhere close to what Emma was. With my daughter, I had complications and almost

In the first book of this series, I didn’t think I liked Emma very much but having read this book, I feel like this she is a woman that I want to know more about.
This author leaves no stone unturned in her pursuit of subject matter that will provoke a reaction, that will get under your skin and make you think, make you take on board the pain and just make you …feel, this was all that and so much more.
Unwanted was by far the hardest of the three books in the series so far to read, I felt emotion

This is the 3rd book in the series that I have read. One doesn't really need to read them in order as the book will recap the situation for readers that haven't read it yet.

Tyler and Emma have been married for a while now and were trying to have a baby of their own. They faced some difficulty but finally managed to conceive; only that there were complications during the delivery and Emma was left fighting for her life.

Between postpartum depression and trying to come to terms with almost losing h

Raw and painful but so good

Emma needed help. She knew that. And her cries for it went unheard until it was almost too late. So Tyler makes the hard choice to let leave to get that help. But Emma knows that there’s a place that can help her more, so she runs there...without telling anyone at first. Was it rash? Maybe. But did it save her? Yeah, I think it did.

This isn’t the easy stuff. This is the painful, the miserable, the raw, and the ugly. This is PTSD and postpartum depression combined into

This is the first book of Leigh’s that I have read and I thought it was amazing!

Emma and Ty struggle to conceive naturally so turn to IVF, the pregnancy goes well and they are excited to welcome the little bundle of joy into the world, that is until Emma almost dies giving birth! Ty realises things are not right when he comes in from work and the baby is crying with a full nappy and Emma is just sat there.

Things go from bad to worse and eventually Emma is admitted to a facility for help. When

Keep a box of tissues near by!

From the very beginning this book had me by the heart strings! I did not bother to read the blurb so I really didn't know what it was about. My guess was it had something to do with an unwanted pregnancy. Right track of thinking..... not completely correct assumption. As a woman I can empathize with wanting a baby so badly. What I can not empathize with is then not wanting anything to do with that baby that I wanted. This story gives you a very emotional look into p

Unwanted by Leigh Lennon is a sad story, it grabbed my by the heart-strings and never let go. You’ll need plenty of tissues for this one. It takes you through the burning desire to have a child and then suffering from the fear that comes from almost dying during giving birth to that longed for baby. Unreasonable feelings can be caused by lots of factors, but postpartum depression is one of the main culprits.
Many women suffer from this sometimes debilitating illness and unless you have gone throu

After reading Unwanted, I really don't know that I could write a review that would truly describe what this book did to me. To say it was an emotional read would be a huge understatement. Even if I didn't have personal experience, I would have had a good idea what it was like based on the talented author's words.

I’m still thinking about this book. It is a follow up to two other books by this author but certainly can be read as a standalone. However, I recommend reading the other books, Unfiltered and Unacquainted, to get the total impact and understanding of the family dynamics. This author tackles relevant issues in a realistic and true manner. At several times this book broke my heart. You will run the gamut of emotions from sobbing for Emma, Tyler and Nick to being hopeful for Emma and Tyler, being a ...more

First and foremost, this is a great book!! I thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn't put it down. I stayed up much too late because I really wanted to know what was going to happen with Emma and Tyler.

To sum up the book, Emma had a traumatic birthing experience with her daughter, Aspen, and it brought on postpartum depression as well as some PTSD. She ultimately does seek help only to find herself not able to move past the fear she held in herself and in her mind. Tyler, her husband, was there throu

This story wasn’t easy to read. Being a mom is the hardest job I’ve ever taken on and though I didn’t experience what Emma did, I was able to feel her pain. And poor Tyler was such a stand up guy that at times I wanted to just wring his neck, and yet I loved him for his commitment to Emma.

I enjoyed the way that the author was honest about how being a mom isn’t just a cake walk for some people. I enjoyed the way that Tyler loved his wife and baby and really wanted the best fo

Wow! I saw another read post that if she had to use two words to describe this book it would heartbreakingly beautiful and I could not agree more. Tyler and Emma are an amazing couple who go through so much in this book and it's very intense and emotional. I was a mess by the end of the story and it's so painful and you feel so much for both Tyler and Emma. Make sure you have some tissues handy because you'll need them. Leigh is one of my absolute favorite authors. She has a way of writing beautiful and emotional books that grab you from the beginning and don’t let to until the very end . My emotions were all over the place from the very beginning. 5 star Review Unwanted (Unbreakable #3) by Leigh Lennon
My first comment is have your tissues ready. Having read numerous books by Leigh Lennon I knew that it would be well written, that’s a given. However what I didn’t count on was the emotional roller coast of a journey that she took me on along with Tyler and Emma.
From the first word to the last, I was riveted to this story and read well into the night, I just had to keep reading until I reached the end. This is a story that left me with one h

I knew from reading the other two books, that this one was going to rip my heart out. Knowing this, I still wanted a happy ending for Ty and Emma. This one hit close to home for me.. I had bad postpartum with my youngest and got to a bad point with it. I found myself feeling super hard for Emma. Tears rolled down my face so many times during this book. I mean, you have to want to get better and can't be forced to overcome your pain instantly. The author did a beautiful job of showing just how ha ...more

Unwanted was such a sad story that totally pulled at my heartstrings from the very first page. It was really well written and you tell just how much heart and soul had gone into this book by the author as it deals with some serious issues.

"Unwanted" is the first book I've read by Leigh Lennon. This is a MUST read for 2018!! Emma and Tyler are deeply in love and want to add to their family. They are having difficulty conceiving so they turn to IVF. When they find out they're expecting they are over the moon. However, the delivery doesn't go as planned and Emma almost loses her life.

I was fortunate enough to get a copy of this book for an honest review. This is the first book I have read from this author and while it stated that it could be read as a stand-alone and didn’t have to be read in sequence, I did feel a little confused at the start. There were lots of other people’s names being referred too and while I knew they were important I found it frustrating as I wanted to know their back story, especially Justine’s, I felt she was significant.

Hard but amazing read

This book was hard to read and I don’t think I would have read it had I not been asked to.

Don’t get me wrong it is an amazing book and a fabulous story, but the story is not all sunshine and roses. It is real and raw and sad.

I have never been in the position Emma was in, I loved my babies from the moment I saw them. I didn’t have postpartum.

I read the story and I was so angry right along with Tyler and then I was angry for a time at Tyler.

What a touching story! Emma and Tyler are put thru the wringer. It takes them forever to finally have a baby. Emma doesn’t bond with the baby and winds up having to get help. Tyler is basically raising Aspen as a single parent while his wife is getting the help she hopefully needs to be a mother. There are so many ups, downs and uncertainties in this story. It hurts so many people seeing Emma the way she is. She tries, but will she ever get to the point where she wants her baby girl. Tyler keeps ...more

Leigh Lennon is mother, veteran and a wife of a cancer survivor. Originally with a degree in education, she started writing as an outlet that has led to a deep passion. She lugs her computer with her as she crafts her next story. One could say she loves pretty nails, big earrings and spiky hair.
