Five houses on a dead-end street. Five very different occupants within these houses, safe and snug on the night of Halloween…
But on this night, when the walls between the living and the dead are at their thinnest, bad things can happen. Devils can walk among us.
It all starts when nine-year-old Danny’s mum opens the door to a most unique group of trick or treaters. The catastrophic chain of events that follow will devastate the people on this dead-end street.
Wish the good folks of Eastcliff Parade a happy Halloween, because for most of them, it will be their last.
Sam West is a British, extreme horror author with more than forty books to her name. If you like your fiction dark, gritty, gory, perverse and truly terrifying, then you're in the right place.
Wow, Halloween meets Scream meets Rosemary's Baby. What a menage a trois! The novel starts with a typical trick or treating scene turning hell (those four kids are terrifying and unforgettable). Then we have a students' party with a prank going the wrong way. Who is the clown-man (had to think about the commercial within the movie Halloween III) and what are his plans? What about the police? What is the terrible secret behind the parents of the little girl one of the main characters does babysitting for? Who will survive this special Halloween night? Sam West comes along with an excellent Halloween story blending many well known TV-stories into a modern eerie tale. Of course there is some sexual violence going on and plenty of gore, slashing, man eating and brutality. But the tale is told in a fluent, entertaining way which makes it absolutely readable. Highly recommended!
Rock em, sock em horror. Starts off like something out of an eighties horror movie. Great characters and so much fun. The almost cheesiness of the story does not prepare you for the extremes of the end of the story. It is such a quick read that it seems to be a great appetizer before indulging in your Sam West entree. Bon Appétit!
I really wish it were October. Especially Halloween. It is almost the half year of Halloween, right? I know a haunted house in my area that is opening up for the next couple of weekends in observation of 6 months until the best holiday ever!!! So this book was very appropriate to get me in the holiday spirit. It does kinda remind me of a movie I can't recall the name of, but it's the basic story of Satan coming to our side of the world for a night. It's not as bloody as most West books, but it's still fun
I really liked this one! I've read of few stories by Sam West and I've liked all of them. This one was a lot of fun, creepy and surprisingly not that gross lol. Don't get me wrong, it still had blood and guts, just not as much as normal. I also really enjoyed the ending. Bravo 👏
A disturbing, violent nightmare of a book. This was everything it promised to be and more. I loved the overhanging eighties-slasher vibe it had, and the brutality definitely did not disappoint. The gore factor in this was everything.
