Everything inside of him is screaming that he needs to run, he needs to go, he needs to escape.

Lane Warner is used to being overshadowed and overlooked.

After all, he’s the youngest brother and the most laid back one in the family. He’s the one known for going with the flow and not making waves, even when things seem to be at their worst.

Very few things in life have had the ability to rile Lane up and get under his skin. At the top of that list is his childhood friend Brynn Fox…no…Brynn Warner. The fact that they share a last name was the one thing that has the power to light him up and spin him out of control like no other. There was no calm, cool and collected when it comes to all the reasons why Brynn had to become part of his family.

It’s slowly killing him to keep wanting what he can’t have, so Lane sees only one way to stop himself from doing something they’ll both regret…he has to leave.

Everything inside of her is calling out to find him, to follow, to bring him home.

Brynn Warner is used to being stuck between a rock and a hard place.

After all, she’s the daughter of an unrepentant gold-digger who never once blinked at being the cause of her daughter’s pain and suffering.

Very few things in her life have ever brought happiness and a sense of security. At the very top of that list is Lane Warner. She has unwaveringly loved the youngest Warner since the first minute she laid eyes on him. He was everything Brynn ever wanted and everything she knew she could never have.

Sometimes the right choice is the one that hurts the most and Brynn’s had to make a few that felt like they might be the end of her.

When Lane takes off, one thing is clear, the only choice Brynn has is to go after him. She’s going to bring her wayward cowboy home….whatever it takes.

Brooding cowboys are a romance subgenre favorite and Crownover continues her heartfelt romantic series “Getaway” with this tale of tall and sexy cowboy Lane Warner and the woman he’s always loved but will never have Brynn Fox.

As the youngest and usually overlooked Warner brother, Lane was proud to be Brynn’s protector at school since they were children until the day she accepted his father’s help instead of his because the dangers she faced were too big for a teenager to help with. For years Lane had stood by watching until it was intolerable, compelling him to escape and leave the only place his ever called home.

Brynn’s life had been far from easy growing up with a mother who could care less about her wellbeing, but she’d made due and could continue her without Lane in it. But she didn’t want to. Not anymore. Not when she’d loved him since she met him, he’d been her best friend and her sole source contentment, and for once she’s determined to put her happiness first and take a chance on them.

It doesn’t take long for Brynn to find him and take what she’s always wanted. Luckily they’re both resolved to get it right this time around. The bond and attraction between them has been building for years and the spark is easily ignited and difficult to contain. Although most of the obstacles to get to their happy ever after come from outside, when it comes to matters of the heart, there’s no easy way to get over years of doubt.

Lane and Brynn are attractive characters. He’s loyal and she’s strong and loving despite her upsetting childhood. Their personalities that feed off of each other just as much as the warm, caring supporting characters that conform the Warner family who together effortlessly put a smile on my face and hope in my heart.

Crownover effortlessly weaves this romance into with a subplot that made for an exciting and suspenseful adventure and helped introduce characters outside of the Warner clan. I had not read the previous books in the series but it’s an error I’ll soon correct as I fully enjoyed this story about family, acceptance, and love.

Escape is book #3 of the Getaway series by Jay Crownover. It is contemporary romance, with a happy ending. If sexy and swoony with cowboy style is what you’re looking for a romantic reading escape, look no further than Escape (see what I did there?)

“When did looking at me start to make you cry instead of smile?”

Oh baby Warner, you break my heart! I knew this book was going to wreck me in the best possible way, and I’ve never been more glad to be right! Jay Crownover brings us ALL THE FEELS with her final (hopefully not - crossing fingers) book in her incredible Getaway Series! ESCAPE is the HIGHLY ANTICIPATED love story of Lane Warner and Brynn Fox/Warner. My heart was aching before I even cracked open the book and then the prologue hit and I was a freaking mess! These two have been on my mind since the very beginning and the fact that Ms. Crownover saved them for last, well, it was just PERFECTION all the way around!

If you are looking for a read that pierces your heart and fills you with absolute love, look no further. Lane and Brynn are EVERYTHING! This book brings about every single emotion you can think of. It has everything you could ever want as well. This is a friends-to-lovers, second-chance romance that will set your soul on fire! It’s sexy. It’s sweet. It’s emotional. It’s suspenseful. There is so much going on, and yet my main focus was on the healing of these two unforgettable characters. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect happily ever after for these two.

“This was how happy was supposed to feel. She was the only one who ever gave me that feeling.”

It’s incredibly sad to say goodbye to this family and this group of characters and I can only hope we will meet them again in the near future. It’s been an absolute honor to meet the Warner’s and the women that brought them to their knees. It’s been an honor to experience the EPIC-NESS that IS Jay Crownover’s writing. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Webb and Ten to get a story of their very own, because MY GOD, there is so much going on there. I just CRAVE it all!

Beautiful sunrise on the farm

“From the very beginning, since before I was old enough to know what it meant, I wanted it to be you and me, Brynn.”

We’ve followed them through Retreat and Shelter, catching snippets of their unrequited love story along the way, all the time eagerly awaiting the moment we finally got to know the nitty-gritty of the youngest Warner, and the woman he loved from afar, so it was fitting the final book in this fabulous series we’ve devoured, should belong to Lane Warner and Brynn Fox-Warner.

First up we have to mention the prologue. Wow! Talk about heart wrenching, it tore us apart and set up Lane and Brynn’s story, and what was to unfold, perfectly.

Theirs is a journey of sacrifice, unrequited love, pain, forgiveness, loyalty, childhood friends to lovers, compassion, family and love, with the family theme running at its core. Whilst the Warner brothers may struggle to find soulmate love, they certainly have no trouble attracting danger – it seems to follow them like a shadow, thus bringing the suspense element to this cowboy, soulmate romantic series we’ve been greedily devouring the minute they’re in our hands.

We were desperate to find out how Brynn came to be in the situation of being married to the Warner patriarch, Lane’s father, when she was clearly in love with Lane Warner, the youngest of the Warner clan, how did it come to be and why were these two keeping each other at arm’s length?

“I always listened to what you had to say, Brynn. Even when the words hurt.”

All the Warner men, Cy, Sutton and especially Lane, had borne the scars of their mother’s cold, uncaring nature towards her husband and boys, her detachment, absences and cruel words had left a mark on them all, with love being an elusive conquest, until they met their soulmates.

For Lane, his soulmate was right under his nose. Brynn Fox and Lane Warner had been childhood friends since they were 5 years old. Lane was her protector, regularly standing up for her at school when Brynn was tormented over where she lived, what she wore, and later vilified for the decisions she made in order to survive the cruelty she suffered at the hands of her awful mother.

To say their history was complicated is an understatement. Brynn was the girl Lane always wanted but had convinced himself she was the woman he could never have. Brynn had rejected Lane’s marriage proposal in her teens, she loved Lane, so why would she refuse him? Well, all is revealed and much, much more! Boy these two sure did share some heartache and if any two people deserved happiness it was Lane and Brynn!

‘I was the only Warner who was going to get love right the first time around. I had to be because my first love was also my forever love.’

Jay Crownover has entertained us, made us laugh, kept us riveted with suspense, and provided some tears along the way, ensuring we fell in love all with her beautiful characters. This series has been fabulous, though sadly, we felt let down by the epilogue in Escape. We wanted, no, we needed an epilogue to wrap up the Warner family journey, and unfortunately, we found it fell short. With this being the last book we would have loved a more comprehensive look into the future, a little bit more than what was delivered. Other than that this really has been a wonderful and unforgettable series, it’s just a shame we didn’t receive the finale we had anticipated.

Oh the feels!!!! Reading a Jay Crownover book is indeed an escape. An escape to get loss in her words, characters and the raw emotions. and in her latest release, Escape, she swept readers away with her magnetic prose. This book was just pure bliss in my opinion. It was a story that took the concept of friends to lovers onto a whole new level of trust, love and and understanding. The story of Lane and Brynn was heartbreaking and yet emotionally beautiful. So if you are looking for a book that took pain and hurt and was able to transform it into something so magical and worthy of love and healing then Escape is the book for you.

Lane Warner and Brynn Fox have been through so much together. They were best friends, first loves, family, and roommates, and all along they carried a torch for each other but were afraid to take a chance again. But when Lane stands to lose Brynn to another man, instead of fighting for her, he takes off.

Lane was always just needing to have his own identity separate from his brothers and to be seen. He was usually the funny and easy going brother, but just hid his pain and insecurities. He was always Brynn's friend and protector, and they knew each other better than anyone else. But when she rebuffed his attempt to ultimately protect her, it hurt him so bad that he closed off his heart and it all became awkward and difficult. So for years even though they lived together on the ranch, their communication was a big issue and neither was willing to take a chance on pushing too hard and risk losing the other out of their life for good. And their lives are still so closely tied with the ranch and family.

But Brynn is strong, determined, loving, and knows what she wants. And this time she is not going to let it slip away. Her past was traumatic and hard, but the Warner Ranch and Lane have been her home for a long time. And she is ready to take a stand and bring her cowboy home where he belongs.

We have known all about the back story of Lane and Brynn since the first book, Retreat, and have watched them struggle for years...so those are not spoilers. But it is hard to talk about this book without posting any so it will have to be vague.

I thought I knew how this book was going to go, but I was totally wrong. I expected it to be angsty and a long and drawn out process of Lane and Brynn finally figuring out their lives. And yes, it is their time to do that. But the story line also went off in a completely different direction than I was expecting. It still has the feel of the other books with adventure, suspense, danger, and tough subjects. It introduces some new characters that I got really attached to. It brings back in some of the side characters we know like Ten, Webb, Wyatt, as well as his family Cy and Leo, and Sutton and Emrys. There is even an awesome cameo and some familiar names and locations dropped.

This is a story about first love and forever love, acceptance, family, and finding a true home. It is told in dual points of view and kept me interested throughout. I adore Lane and Brynn individually and together. They are so well matched, have such history, love hard, and have hot chemistry. But they, like the other Warners, are also so loving and generous. They are not selfish people. They have a lot of love to give and have big hearts. Even though this ends the three Warner brothers stories, I am excited about the possibility of spin-offs from the other characters. I have enjoyed this series and the Wyoming ranch and the more romantic suspense feel to the stories. I am not quite ready to let them all go yet.

I was gifted a copy by the author.

Original review on Julalicious Book Paradise

I was really happy to finally get to Lane and Brynn's story because I really wanted to know just how they would be able to salvage their friendship and move on after hitting pause all these years ago and I was also wondering how their story would be like after what the first two brother went through in the first books, but like always, Jay Crownover didn't disappoint.

When Lane leaves the Ranch, he's trying to put as much distance between him and Brynn, but the red haired girl doesn't see it this way and goes after him with the firm intention of bringing him home. As they agree to make the journey back home together in hope to finally be able to reconnect, they probably didn't expect just how this road trip was going to go. Knowing they would need to talk about the past wasn't a conversation either was ready for, but they both knew they needed it. When they finally do, it seems that both of them are able to breath and finally move on to a better future.

And While they try to work things out, unplanned events are thrown their way making the road trip a little more dangerous than they originally planned. Along the way, they meet Bauer, a young boy, who is in bad shape and with whom Brynn connects deeply. When he tells them his story, she can't help but make the connection with her own past and how she had to fight for survival. Lane and her both agree to help him get to his brother, but the journey isn't easy has they hoped as they encounter more problems than solutions.

But helping Bauer also helps Lane and Brynn to finally reconnect even more as they both learn to trust one another. As they do everything to help the boy, you can practically feel like they were meant to be together as they complete one another by seeing different sides and solutions to the situation.

I don't know if it's my favourite story of the 3 books, but I seriously loved how even with so many years apart, they just came together so easily. Lane and Brynn had a complicated history, but their story was probably one of the easiest to follow as they both knew what they wanted; they just needed to take a leap of faith together.

And it wouldn't be the same without the appearances of many of the characters from the previous books, including one of my favourites, Webb, which I'm really hoping Jay gets to write a book, a novella, a short story, really just about anything so I can get more Webb. And I was nearly screaming when a character made an appearance because I wasn't expecting it.

But I will be honest, whatever you expected from this story, it probably won't be that. I was really surprised about everything about this book and it just made me love it even more.

Overall, this was amazing read and I'm really hoping to read more books following the other characters because like always, Jay Crownover has a way to make us always want more about the people interacting with the main characters.

The series was a 5 stars read through and through.

I was giving an advanced copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.

There was no escape from love once it got its claws into you.

Oh Jay Crownover, what an ESCAPE!!! The Getaway series continues to be one INCREDIBLY INTENSE ADVENTURE!!! Escape is a vividly told tale that is full of steam, suspense, and second chances. This book buzzes with excitement and energy that ENGULFED ME. Escape is a heart-pounding journey filled with HEAT and HEART that is one HEADY HIGH!

Escape is tale of tough and tender love but also a story of survival, second chances, and strength. Escape is a roller coaster ride of an adventure with a few twists and turns, and ups and downs—one that takes the senses for a spin. Escape slays serious subjects, rescuing them from the dark and bringing them to light. Escape is a fierce and fiery flame of a love story that burns all over. Escape is EVERYTHING!!!!

Jay Crownover brings the big romance guns to Escape—moments of smolder, sweetness and swoon—while still delivering suspense that keeps readers clamoring for MORE. This story is SO SEXY with strong characters that will captivate you from beginning to end. Escape is a unique spin on second chance romance.

Like his two older brothers, Lane is a man’s man. Tall. Rugged. Handsome. Tough. Tender. Lane defines hero in every way. I loved this cowboy!

Brynn is a brave beauty who sees the light in others’ dark and makes her shattered pieces shine. She is a nurturer and a genuine gal who keeps those she loves grounded. I adored this strong heroine!

”You’re the only man who had ever been able to make the rest of the world disappear, even when it’s falling down around me.”

Sometimes fate has a way of reuniting two lost souls and Brynn and Lane define soulmate. This hero and heroines’ story is SPECIAL because of their heartfelt history, and first and last love. Brynn and Lane are on fire together, a fusion of smolder meets sweet love. SO COMBUSTIBLE!

Escape is as sweet as it smoldering. It tackles tough issues and ties up a few loose ends. Escape is heroism in spades! An UNFORGETTABLE and EMOTIONALLY-WOVEN love story, Escape makes you want to grab onto every opportunity, take risks, open your heart to love, and live life to the fullest. I LIVED this journey! I LOVED every moment! I LOVED THIS PERFECT ESCAPE!

”I’m pretty sure you’re my forever.”

I received an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. Review and blog tour can be found on *Milky Way of Books*

The final (?) book in the Getaway series was a whirl of emotions and action. I had anticipated Lane's and Brynn's story since book 1 and I was glad to their own HEA. The trope of friends to lovers is one of my favorite and while it dragged at some points it was a good book with romance, some comedy and a sub-plot that made me feel like I was watching an action movie.

The end of the book also gives an indication for more stories as spin-offs that could happen and I am pretty sure that Jay Crownover will amaze us again!

Crownover's final installment in the Getaway Series is a heartbreaking tale of first love and lost chances. After the drama of Cy and Leo in the wilderness and the chaos of Em and Sutton's survival, I didn't think Lane and Brynn's story could pull me in another emotional direction. But I was wrong in the best of ways. Everyone knows that Brynn and Leo belong to one another. They've gravitated and circled one another like planets for years and finally they've crashed.

Lane may be the quintessential little brother and may feel like he always has to prove himself but Brynn has always seen him for himself. Lane's heart was broken when Brynn's decision was made when they were younger. For Lane, that made a wound so deep that he has tried to fill it with work, women, and wit. For Brynn, watching him drown his sorrow in women and humor helped Brynn to build her own wall. Brynn's loved him as long as she can remember. But she can't stand by and be seen as just the scared abused girl he once tried to save. Sometimes a forced perspective can push people to see things in a new light.

Crownover seemed to take our story in a new direction. Where most romances happen alongside a dramatic story, Brynn and Lane slide right in to their romance and focus instead on a new life they need to save. They have loved each other forever so there's no time to waste and they have a bond between them that no one can deny. When Brynn goes to bring Lane home to Wyoming they discover that the danger Brynn barely escaped as a child has taken another victim. As they try to save a young boy from a hellish nightmare Lane begins to learn that Brynn is more than the woman he loved and tried to save; she became her own hero. A heartwarming ending the Warner brothers love lives with a nod to some of our older Crownover fans and a very special ending.

I thought I knew what this book was going to be about before reading it. Two people who since they were little formed a strong bond in friendship that turned into unrequited love and circumstances broke that bond for many years. I thought it would take the whole book for these two to mend their friendship and finally become lovers. Color me pleasantly surprised when that was resolved within the first couple chapters.

Now what does that mean for the rest of the book? Well a story thread from her Point series is introduced and a character from her Marked Men series plays a part in that thread. LOVED THAT.

From the first book in this series we knew Lane and Brynn should be together – didn't know the full story of their lives which we finally get – so for me the bonus of getting the connected story from her other series was awesome.. Another treat was having Tennyson, Webb and his DEA brother Wyatt be a big part of the story line. I really hope the author one day gives us Tennyson and Webb's story..

I have been waiting for this beauty for a while, it delivered and then some. I loved the story and all the ups and downs.

Lane has always been a favorite character of mine. My heart was breaking for him. I really didn’t know if Brynn was good enough for my Lane but she so was.

It only took me a chapter or two to fall in love with Brynn and to see that she was hurting just as much as Lane was. I can’t believe how much she has had to go through in her life.

Her heart is so big you can’t help but want the world for her. I love that Lane is going to be the man to give it to her.

I just love, love and I couldn’t be more happy for this HEA.. Now I neeeeeeeed more!!

Loved the narration, I think they both did a great job bringing this story to life.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Escape might just be my favorite of the Getaway series. The details of the relationship between Brynn and Lane have been unfolding through the series so we are already aware of the background details and barriers between the pair. However, the ending of Shelter was the tipping point for Lane forcing him to confront everything he has tried so hard to bury.

The history between Lane and Brynn is majorly messed up and exasperated by Lane's blinkered youthful viewpoint and his own issues with relationships stemming from his poisonous mother. Putting distance between himself and Brynn gives Lane surprising clarity to his feelings, although he is apprehensive to take action. Luckily, Brynn has more self-awareness and determination than most, finally taking the opportunity to chase her own happiness.

These Warners sure do know how to find trouble and their amazing moral code and compassion doesn't allow them to sit back and not take action. As Brynn and Lane navigate their way home and the adjustments to their relationship they become rescuers to a teenage boy, Bauer. Bauer is someone Brynn connects to on a level most other people who haven't been through their struggles would find impossible to comprehend.

Jay weaves topical issues into the narrative, that are horrifying to know actually occur in real life and not just in the fictional world. Confronting the dark underbelly of humanity makes you consider how you might be able to help and even what your actions might be if you were in a similar situation to Brynn and Lane.

Escape has amazing cameo appearances of some of my favorite Jay Crownover characters and ingeniously weaves together Marked Men, The Point, and the Getaway series. So so so clever, tying up a few loose ends, serving justice and progressing previous characters relationships.

There is a bit of a twist to the end of Escape, opening up a whole new set of complications -  I am eager to find where Jay is going to take this new development!!!!

This time the story is about Lane, the youngest Warner brother. He has always been in love with Brynn. But her circumstances have never been easy. She wanted to leave behind her life in the reservation. Her mother was really nasty. So she accepted Lane's marriage proposal.
Obviously, that made Lane and Brynn drift apart.
When he is about to lose her again, he just escapes. But this time, Brynn is determined to bring him back home. This is their journey together.
I liked the story. Honestly, I was looking forward to reading this book. But there was a moment when their love story was lost among everything that was happening. And that's when I was a little bit disappointed.
For me, this was not the best Jay Crownover's series. But still, as usual, they are worth it.

Lane tries to be the gentlemanly type, “oh, I’m trying, believe me. It’s taking everything I effing have not to come before you.” Lane always tries to be a considerate man, “uh, I’m never going to say no to a ****job from that pretty mouth of yours, but are you sure you want to start that here? Not to mention I’m all dirty and I stink.” I liked this book, I loved Lane. The man was so kind and sweet.

Review by Trinette Dungee

Lane Warner is the baby of the Warner Brothers; he’s the one who can put anyone at ease with his laid back nature and easy giving smile. That smile has gotten him many women in his bed except the only one he really wants; Brynn Fox-Warner. He and Brynn were the best of friends for years, until he offered her a way out of her horrible life and she turned him down and accepted his father’s help instead…hence the “Warner” last name. Broken hearted Lane basically slept his way through any woman he came across but all the sex in the world couldn’t erase Brynn from his heart of fill the hole she left in it. Then watching another man propose to her, ripping the hole in his heart even deeper he runs; but Brynn’s not done with him yet.

Brynn suffered abuse at the hands of her family for years. The only bright spot in her life other than her little sister was Lane Warner. He was her best friend, her protector. He soothed her soul, doctored the cuts and bruises she endured at the hands of a selfish mother and the myriad of men she brought around. When she suffered the worst of attacks Lane offered to marry her to take her away from it all; but Brynn turned him down and then married his dad. She knew she hurt Lane by turning him down, but at the time they were so young and she couldn’t allow him to throw away his future taking on her demons.

So for the past two books in the series we’ve kind of watched Lane and Brynn tiptoe around each other. I honestly couldn’t figure out how their story was going to go. I have to say in the beginning I wasn’t all that captivated. Lane basically takes off because he can’t deal with the fact that Brynn has been proposed to by another man. He flees to Sutton’s and Em’s where he stays until Brynn swoops in to bring him home where he belongs. Okay fine, she comes and gets him and they embark on a road trip from California back to Wyoming, but I’m still trying to figure out where this story was going. Suddenly the encounter with a young kid by the name of Bauer kicks this story off and makes this my favorite book in the series!!!!

Bauer is a young runaway caught up in a possible sex-trafficking ring. He’s beaten and battered and broken; something Brynn can definitely relate to. He doesn’t trust anyone and all he wants is to get to Denver to his older brother (hmmmm, Jay Crownover….Denver….very interesting….and the plot thickens). Brynn and Lane both see something of themselves in Bauer and neither is willing to leave him on his own. It takes some convincing but Brynn and Lane finally convince Bauer that they are the good guys and they are going to do whatever they can to help him get to his brother.

What makes this a four star read for me? A few things

1. Lane and Brynn go right into their relationship. There’s no tiptoeing and being skittish around each other. Yeah, there’s a bit of tension in the beginning but it’s quickly squashed. There was no angst of “they split 70% into the book and then realize in the end that they belong together. We don’t need it because we’ve experienced it during CY’s and Leo’s story and Sutton’s and Em’s story. This was more about Lane and Brynn finally admitting to each other and coming completely clean about how they felt about each other and how they hurt each other and working through the pain. This was them being a team.

2. Jay very cleverly gave you two, possibly three stories in one. While Lane and Brynn were the main storyline, we get the Bauer’s story his full story. We also get the makings of Ten and Webb’s story. She added these other storylines without taking anything away from Brynn and Lane.

3. And this is the one that really got me. With this book, Jay tied together three series. I think I vaguely remember “The Point” connecting with characters from either “The Marked Men” Series or “The Saints of Denver” Series, but in this book there’s mention of The Point (I’m trying to go back in my memory and remember if Webb or Wyatt Bryant from The Point), and there’s an appearance by a character from the Marked Men Series….here’s a hint; she’s red-head with a badge and based on the similarities that Brynn mentions between the two of them, I’m wondering if there might be some connection between them…..

JAY CROWNOVER STRIKES AGAIN!!!!

Lane Warner is used to being the overlooked brother, the one who tries to keep the mood light, but he can’t stay at the ranch anymore and watch everything he wants and can’t have. Running to Sutton wasn’t really his plan, but California seems like as good a place as any to figure out what Lane will do next.

Brynn Warner (formerly Fox) found a home at Warner Ranch, but an unconventional one. Marrying into the Warner family might have solved some of her problems, but put her heart in a difficult place. When Lane left, she was torn between what she wanted and what she thought was best, once again, but it’s time to bring Lane home and she’ll do whatever she has to in order to get him there.

The history between these two had been explained in brief, but seeing the drama behind Brynn’s past choices made those hints more real, more raw. Lane and Brynn have a bit of a star crossed lovers element to their story, but once they work through the pain they have each been holding on to, things between them smooth out quickly. I loved that the plot drama wasn’t just focused on issues between them, but focused on issues that caused them to band together.

This story took a turn that was unexpected and gritty and I loved watching the story unfold as the Warner family rallied around each other. I was not really expecting the direction of Lane and Brynn’s journey home, but loved watching as they gave support to a young boy who had no one to lean on.

There are great suspense bits as Land and Brynn attempt to sort through Bauer’s story and work to get him to safety. Bauer pulled at my heartstrings and I ached for the boy who was searching for home.

Jay does a fantastic job of dropping Easter eggs throughout her books and Escape does a phenomenal job with a Marked Men cameo and multiple references to the Point. I have gone back and forth as to whether I love the ending or not, but it certainly has me hoping she can find room in her writing schedule for Webb and Ten to get their story, because that was some ending! (Yes, Lane and Brynn have a complete story in Escape, but there is a lot of teasing for Webb and Ten!)

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Escape by Jay Crownover is the 3rd book in the 3 book Getaway series that tells the tales of 3 brothers.
In Retreat, book 1, and Shelter, book 2, we hear and see glimpses of Lane and Brynn's relationship and know that life has torn these two apart even though they belong to each other. All 3 books can be read as standalones but you will want to know all the brothers.

Lane is the youngest of the 3 Warner brothers and he has been in love with Brynn from the first moment he saw her way back when but life has gotten in their way of finding happiness with one another.

This is a tale of first love and how when two people are meant to be and how with just a little bit of effort and maybe a few kisses along the way, love will find its way. Plus making a few new friends and adventure at every corner always helps bond relationships.

I absolutely loved this story and is worth every moment I spent reading it!!

Lane and Brynn might be my favorite. I enjoyed how the problem with the couple got taken care of right away at the beginning of the story. It was refreshing not to have the typical all goes well, then a problem occurs before all can be right again. The add on of Bauer in the story was nice as it showed just how great of people Lane and Brynn are. I just wish there were some more couple moments with Lane and Brynn.

Lane and Brynn have such a complicated relationship. They were best friends then they were almost strangers. There is so much going on, and yet my main focus was on the healing of these two unforgettable characters. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect happily ever after for these two.

We fell apart without a kiss. Maybe we can put ourselves back together with one.

I’ll start by saying this book was not what I expected. The storyline was a combination of the long awaited love story of Brynn and Lane plus an emotionally packed story that will tug at your heartstrings.

Great end to the series!

I have been so pumped for Lane and Brynn's story. They have such the tension surrounding them and it made for quite the build up. I enjoyed their relationship a lot and was so glad to see things broken down between them. There was a whole suspense element that I did not see coming that was a lot of the main plot line. I did like it, I was just thrown off at first. I am really hoping she will continue in this world and bring us more!

Brynn and Lane belong together but circumstances have prevented them from finally doing just that. But when Lane decides that he can't take anymore and leaves the ranch, Brynn must pull up her big girl panties and take the step they both need her to take, and go and bring him home to her. But the journey is not without drama. They must figure out how to repair their friendship before they can move forward into something more.

I love them together. I understood why Lane was hurt by her denial, when they were younger. And I understand why she needed to hurt him. But I am glad they're older and wiser and working together to get rid of all that.

There was a secondary story intertwined within this one that seemed to take away from the main story. I wanted more of them and less of anyone else. But alas... I still will read any other stories Jay decides to give us. I need more!!

I received an ARC for an honest review.
