I have read almost all of the My Heart Belongs series and while I enjoyed all of them this one has been my favorite one so far. I really love the fact that each one features a different city and we learn about the beauty of it and what it's unique for. Glenwood Springs has beautiful healing springs. When she was little more than a young woman Millie Cooper was set to marry Stephen Drexel but his brother put a stop to it. Feeling wronged this fisherman's daughter who grew up dirt poor and has now ...more

This is the first book I've read by Rebecca Jepson, but it won't be the last. I loved her strong but broken characters, and the fantastic plot that could have so easily been misplayed into something soap-opera-ish, but wasn't. Instead, she's woven an interesting tale of faith and redemption and romance. Millie has had so many losses in her life - the untimely death of her mother, a broken engagement with the man of her dreams, her father's drowning - what would it mean to be married and surround ...more

"It was his voice. . . . . . How could a voice be so familiar, yet so forgotten?"

Millie Cooper traveled all the way to Glenwood Springs, Colorado, away from her childhood home in Nantucket, after her future took a drastic turn for the worse over a broken engagement. Now six years later, while serving the local community as an apprenticed nurse, she has come face to face with a desperate man; the older brother who, on that fateful night, informed Millie that she would never become Mrs. S

I've never read anything by Rebecca Jepson before and I was really delighted by this book!

Characters - The entire cast had great voices! I loved the thoughts they wanted to shout out...loved their outbursts and sarcastic remarks as much as I loved their prayers. There were many layers to each person, who were broken - several times over - and made whole again.

Setting - I enjoyed Glenwood Springs, the Drexel family home and the social expectations of the time.

Interesting Medical Scenes - Methods

I really enjoyed this read, and the pages flew as I was reading, a poor girl, rich boy, back in the late 1880’s, and in beautiful Colorado.
You might want to have the tissues handy for this one, there are some very sad parts, as we meet reality head on, and our girl is there for everyone, including those who seem to really dislike her.
We walk in Millie Cooper’s shoes, and as her we are a strong, smart young woman, and full of compassion for her fellow man. She doesn’t seem to be very lucky in lo

Part of the reason I chose MY HEART BELONGS IN GLENWOOD SPRINGS, COLORADO was the setting, as I lived in the Centennial State for six years. I know how gorgeous the area is and credit the author, Rebecca Jepson, with gracefully using location to encircle the story’s heart.

This lovely historical romance, set in 1888, is part of the popular My Heart Belongs Series. Protagonist Millie Cooper was once engaged to the Drexel family’s wealthy scion, whose older brother intervened to kept them apart. S

I will be with you, your troubles to bless.

I’m still befuddled, my heart still racing and my emotions still raw from this story so forgive me if my review makes little sense! It packs a punch that leaves you wanting more of these characters even though it has a very satisfying, if not nail biting ending. Seriously, you’ll be on the edge of your seat like I was in more than a few scenes. Without giving much of anything away, it’s so hard to form a coherent review that still makes the reader lon

Glenwood Springs, Colorado, 1888. The peaceful surroundings belie the burgeoning turmoil that enters Millie Cooper’s life once again. As a poor fisherman’s daughter from Nantucket, she has ventured west and established herself as a nurse, working under a kindly doctor. The heartbreak of her past seemingly behind her, she has settled into the routine of her new life. However, when she reluctantly agrees to accept a position as personal attendant to a condescending, asthmatic woman, her past retur ...more

My Heart Belongs in Glenwood Springs, Colorado : Millie’s Resolve by Rebecca Jepson is part of a historical series by Barbour.

I am really enjoying these diverse novels about eras past.

It is 1888 and Millie Cooper has made her way out west to Colorado after a romantic disappointment in Nantucket. She is now a respected nurse working for Dr. Murphy in Glenwood Springs. Much to her amazement, John Drexel, older brother of the man she had come to love, is seeking a nurse for his ailing mother. To m

A historical romance in the lovely setting of Glenwood Springs, Colorado! A town surrounded by beautiful mountains, and rushing rivers, Millie had a perfect place to run away from her troubles in Nantucket. Now years later in 1888, her painful past has caught up with her, as she is called upon to help out as a nurse to the very people who caused her pain.

There was a lot to like and admire about Millie. She is knowledgeable, hardworking, courageous and determined to do her job well. She serves

Millie left her Nantucket home and traveled to Glenwood Springs to be nurse to Dr. Murphy after a high class gentleman broke their engagement and left. This is my first book from Rebecca Jepson and I loved it!
The plot of the story was complex and filled with drama, but very engaging. Millie, a fisherman's daugther, was left heartbroken and she thinks it was Stephen's older brother -John- the one who caused them to never marry. Now, she has started anew and is a professional nurse, and John comes to her requesting her help in assisting her ailing mother and Stephen's wife who is in the last months of her pregnancy. Can Millie overcome her past h

I have read all of the My Heart Belongs series, all written by different authors, so I was very interested in Millie’s Resolve, written by Rebecca Jepson- a new to me author. I was pleasantly surprised by this author’s ability to tell a rather riveting tale of lost love, new love, past and present colliding. I enjoyed it immensely. All the other stories were good, but something about this one made it my favorite. It may have simply been the storyline: affluent family does not want second son to ...more

Loved this story! The title says "Millie's Resolve" but I think it is just as much John's story too.
The responsibility of being in charge of his family, (mother, brother his brother's wife and children) always putting their needs above his own.
"Where the past and present collide and a woman is on the precipice of unexpected love."
I love that line from the description! Such a precipice Millie finds herself on too. Millie is faced with difficult situations as a nurse for Dr. Murphy but they do

This is my first book by this author. I have several of these MHB books and so far they have been top notch books. I love any book that is Historical because I like to learn the way people lived and how they did things without the conveniences of today.
Millie meets the Drexel family again after six years when she was supposed to marry the younger brother. Now the oldest brother is asking for help. Should she help his family after he acted like she wasn’t good enough for his brother Stephen? Doe

As with all the books in the My Heart Belongs series, if you enjoy Christian historical fiction with light romance, you will enjoy this standalone story set in the beautiful state of Colorado. Having never been there, I enjoyed the descriptions within the story.

Author Rebecca Jepson makes her characters so realistic that you will find yourself talking to them; encouraging them to make the right decisions and scolding them when they make a wrong turn.

I think this has been my favorite in the My Heart Belongs series. I have not read this author before, but enjoyed her sense of time and place and her characterization. The characters are flawed people, each dealing with emotional hurts and loss that influence how they think and act. It is a story of redemption and how if we wait on the Lord, He will meet our needs and bless us beyond measure. Caution....you may need tissues and may not be able to put down. I really enjoyed this and recommend.

I have a new favorite in the My Heart Belongs Series. I adored this book and the characters within. This one was a little bit heavier with the Christian elements than some of the others but it didn't bother me. I enjoyed it. I did want to let people know that because not every reader likes that in their books. This book was definitely a story of sorrow, healing, putting aside hurt and angry and seeking for God's love and forgiveness to heal hearts. Very well written and I loved the characters.

I've heard authors say that some books write themselves. As a reader, I have said that some books read themselves. That's the case with this book. I started reading this book with the intention of just reading a chapter or so to "get into" the story and soon found I was halfway through the book in just one sitting! Warm, realistic characters in a story that was both heartwrenching and heart-stopping made this book easy to read.

While some aspects of the story sounded familiar to other romances I'

I am loving this “My Heart Belongs” series by Barbour Books. This well written Christian historical romance by Rebecca Jepson did not disappoint. The story takes place in the late 1800's, in a small town of Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Our leading lady, Millie Cooper has gone from being the poor fisherman's daughter to a well respected nurse. Millie has had to recover from having her heart broken at the age of 18. That night she went to the prearranged spot to meet her intended Steve. His older ...more

Millie is a poor fisherman's daughter grown up to be a nurse. She bears a broken heart caused by Stephen Drexler when he bowed to his brother John's command not to marry her because of her low position, a double hurt for Millie. When Millie meets up with John again many miles away from her Nantucket home, this time in Colorado, the hurt returns with a vengeance.
John's intention was never to hurt Millie, or his brother for that matter. He simply had responsibilities to fulfill for his family. No

From the first page to the last, I absolutely loved Millie Cooper, who had endured so much as a young girl in Nantucket and accomplished so much as a young woman in Colorado. Now, in 1888, Millie is both loved and admired as a nurse in the community of Glenwood Springs, Colorado and she is finally happy. Suddenly her contented life is shattered by a family from her past and her old insecurities once again threaten her peace of mind. Millie is asked to become a private nurse for the woman who dee ...more

There were several things I liked about this book, but I think the thing I liked the most was the ultimate decision that Millie had to make towards the end of the book. Without giving too much away, she really had to sort out her feelings for these brothers. One she had a past with and one a present with. How do you ignore a man you thought you were destined to be with? Or how to you ignore a man that give you goosebumps and makes you feel flustered? It was such an interesting love triangle and ...more
