Lexi is home after a deployment in which she lost 2 people and was scarred herself. Keegan is a cop who was shot in the line of duty and lost his partner. Both have issues with PTSD. When they meet, thanks to Keegan being partners with Lexi's best friend, sparks fly.

Both are battling their demons, at first Lexi is using the bottle, but with Keegan's help she seeks help and starts getting better. Keegan is more closed off but he sees a shrink but is never fully honest. Just when you can

If you can get through this book without ugly crying, something is seriously wrong with you.

“Shattered Souls” is the perfect title for this book. Keegan and Lexi are both shattered souls, but in different ways. Keegan, a police officer, is trying to overcome his rough childhood, in which he had to grow up with a mother who was addicted to drugs. Lexi has just returned from a deployment with the Army, and is still struggling with the loss of a few of her comrades, one of whom she considered to b

What an unbelievable story! I loved everything about this book. It’s heartbreaking, breath taking and just absolutely lovely. Alison Mello knows her military romances and writes them SO well. This is also the first military romance novel I’ve read where the veteran is a woman and that was eye opening as well as a nice change! Thouroughly enjoyed everything about this book and can not wait for the next in the series!

Shattered Souls had the potential to be a great book, but it missed the mark for me. The premise of a returned Army medic, the female lead, was a twist to the usual PTSD story that intrigued me. However, I felt the story needed more tension, drama and angst.

The characters were likable, I felt for Lexi. She was dealing with trauma from her time serving the Army. Keegan, a cop, also had issues from his past to deal with. The connection between the characters developed quickly. The physical connect

Surviving the aftermath….

Grief, loss, anger, PTSD. All things that are not uncommon when you survive traumatic events. This military romance showcases them in more than one form…

Lexi was physically injured in war but those wounds pale in comparison to the psychological ones. She is trying to recover, move on but that is easier said than done despite help from the best of friends and an unexpected source… Keegan is instantly attracted to his partner’s good friend and his career as a cop, and his

I have a soft spot for military romances. My usual go to are ALPHA military men, but Shattered Souls was a different one: the military member was female, Lexi.....but the man in the story, Keegan, is a cop....which can be a pretty ALPHA job.

They were brought together by circumstance and unbeknownst to them, they have some things in common......PTSD.

This was a good spin on a military story.

Love this look at a female officer returning from war and dealing with the trauma of combat.

Good romance and a realistic view of people in the military, especially combat.

This is a first for me by this author. What grabbed my complete attention was the synopsis to this story. After reading it I needed to read this novel hoping that it lived up to the expectations that I had.

What I did get was a heartbreaking story about two people, Keegan and Lexi, both so completely shattered and broken from their pasts that trying to push through to strive for a future

Lexi has served her country as a medic bringing home scars that no one should ever have to bear. Injured, broken and plagued by the darkness that consumes her, the only way out of her head is with alcohol. The journey home was the worst part. No one understands.

Officer Keegan Ward has memories of his own. His mother is and was will always be a junkie. The life she provided or lack of is what drove him to be a cop. His sessions don't help -

What can I say about Shatter Souls... have your tissues ready unless you're just cold hearted. Alison Mello did an epic job with Shattered Souls. Finally a decent military romance book with the lady being in service. Kudos!! Shattered Souls had me laughing, in ugly tears, and I still could not put this book down. You will fall in love with Keegan and Lexi as they find themselves with each other's help along the way. I highly recommend this book! ...more

I met Alison Mello at Shameless Book Con, love her and promised myself to read one of her books. Shattered Souls is a beautiful introduction to this author. There are some books that you know are going to touch your soul from the first sentence. Shattered Souls is one of those books for me. From her introduction, I fell in love with Lexi from the start. She is so independent and resilient yet suffering tremendously after returning from combat. Her physical wounds heal, but the emotional ...more

I found Shattered Souls very enjoyable with such a incredibly unique plot while this being my first read by Alison Mello it wont be my last . The blurb really intrigued me and when I got my hands on it there was no stopping me but the low battery of my kindle . Lexi and Keegan are perfectly written together with a intense attraction , similar PTSD along with survivors guilt , and the way they chase each others nightmares away . I really liked Lexi she's such a strong heroine the author wrote abo ...more

The Healing Power of Compassion & Love
This book was so much more than just a quick read romance. The book's title, Shattered Souls, is a true reflection of the emotional journey of healing and personal redemption that is found in its pages. Lexi and Keegan's struggles to overcome PTSD reminded me of how important it is to be genuinely grateful for the sacrifices of those who serve our country and communities. Alison Mello masterfully told a story of patience, perseverance and resiliency in a way

I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this book. Shattered Souls by Alison Mello is the first book in her To Love and Serve series. It is my first book by Alison but I can guaranty you it will not be my last.

Can people who have suffered tragedy really find a way to mend their shattered souls and can two people with such tragedy heal each other? This book takes you on a journey through different tragic experiences but the same PTSD end result. Keegan is a Boston cop who puts everything he

This was my first Alison Mello book and it most certainly won't be my last. This book is a heartbreakingly beautiful story of of hope and healing and should not be missed.

Can two shattered souls heal each that even possible? This book will have you questioning that very thing from the very beginning of the book. From the moment Lexi meets Keegan they have a connection. The demons these two live with are so heart wrenching and I found myself crying for both of them through out this bo

Wonderfully shattered

What an amazing book. OMG I don't know What to say. An emotionally charged, heartwarming story about two equally broken people. There were points in the story that will have you crying, next you will be swooning, then you will be angry but it makes for such a great story. Oh I want to say so much more but I don't want to give a thing about it away! So so so good!!!! If I could give it 10 stars I would.

I loved Shattered Souls! Lexi and Keegan are two shattered souls with a deep connection. They understand each other's pasts. Together they will try to heal each other so they can move on with their lives and put the past where it belongs, in the past. I also liked the supporting characters, Chloe, Lucas, Harper, and Knox. I hope to read more about all of them in the future. ...more

A definite 5 star read. From the beginning to the very end, it was a page turner that kept you wanting to read more and more. It was emotional. The struggles each of them had faced past and present will tear at your heart. Shattered lives don't mean you stop living. Them working together to help each other shows how true love is defined. This was my first book by this author, and it is definitely not my last. Thanks for a great read Alison. It's a book I could relate to in my personal life. ...more

Alison Mello is my go to author for military and police romance! She is fantastic at just capturing the raw nitty gritty details. Shattered Souls was every bit the tear jerking book I thought it would be. Lexi and Keegain are to very broken people who deserve nothing but the best. The book opens up in great detail on how PTSD can really consume someone. I breezed through this book with tissue at my side. Shattered Souls (To Love and Serve Book 1) by Alison Mello is an amazing book. Deeply emotional, raw, gritty and at times painful in its realism. This powerful book is well written, offers an engaging storyline and has complex characters. This book tells the story of Lexi and Keegan. Both of whom are in pain and suffering from the tragedies that have happened to them. A beautiful love story that shall move you and make your heart ache and break for these two everyday heroes. The best Alison Mello book by far. This book differs slightly from her usual fantastic reads in that the characters are both screwed up and save each other. An army vet with ptsd meets a policeman with ptsd and the two help each other to heal. It's hot and sexy and raw and painful and by far the best book I've read from this great author. ...more

I wasn’t sure at first how I would like this book as it started off with a lot of tragedy. However, the story of Lexi and Keegan quickly grew on me. Through their past struggles they found each other and quickly developed a romance while dealing with the tragedies in their past.

This book brought lots of steam, romance, tears, and joy to see how two people can grow, forgive, overcome, and help others along the way.

Beautifully Bumpy Romance

Shattered Souls turned out to be more book than I bargained for. Honestly, around the 30% mark I wasn't even sure if it was the right fit for me and then Alison Mello kicked things into overdrive. I went from liking her characters to loving them and she even squeezed a few tears out of me...more than once mind you.

While Lexi's story is told in the book's blurb, it's HIS story that got me and then the mix of them together? Forget it. I was emotional toast by the end. Out

This was a beautifully, well-written love story about two broken people who fate brings together to help heal each other. Keegan is a Boston cop with a horrible childhood and the present has not been too good to him either. Lexi is an Army medic coming back from coombat and has problems of her own. When fate brings them together, will the ghosts of their past and present keep them apart??? I couldn't put this story down until I was finished that last page!

I'm a sucker for military romances. Usually they're about the men who serve but Alison Mello gives us a tale about the women who choose to serve, and come home to tell the tale. As a bonus, we get not one, but two damaged hearts, two people who must deal with the horrible realities of life in a war zone the rest of us can only imagine. Both Lexi and Keegan have serious issues they must get past to be able to live any sense of a normal life. When they meet, sparks fly, but can they make it work?

Shattered Souls is an emotional story that centers around PTSD. This is a different variation on a military story. It features a female army medic. I love military romance, and I really enjoyed reading Shattered Souls.

Lexi comes home with scars and nightmares. She is trying to move on from the past and all she has seen to build a future for herself. Lexi is a strong and capable woman, who is feeling broken and damaged. She meets Keegan, her best friend's partner. K
