Valis works as a man possessed, but there’s no outrunning the past.

In war training, Valis advances quickly, but in magic training, he’s lucky not to blow himself up trying to wield his dual magic. Constant growth spurts make him outgrow his training armor and his attraction to his mentor, Tavros, rising to molten levels puts Valis under added pressure.

And there’s one more

Well once again, I was blown away with how this turned. I was NOT expecting this. And am still reeling over it. Damn.
Valis has had Roba, his father, hanging over his head since his birth. The man tattooed him with an evil tattoo, beat him and abused him almost every day for his whole life. And now he's saying he wants to reveal things. But only if Valis is present. But it was more or less a run around. When Valis and his mentor, Tav, save a sister, Valis knows he needs to see Roba once more bef

This book concludes the Duty and Sacrifice trilogy, but don't let that fool you. This sets the stage for the next trilogy, Purity and Control, so don't think for a second that you will get a full story.

I am really enjoying this saga, but as I have seen mentioned in other reviews, there is an awful lot of crying. I have mentioned in reviews of the previous books how tactile the characters are, but it is starting to get a little old. Other than that, the storyline flows nicely from

This series just keeps getting better and better with each book. And each book has left me wanting the next book right away. This book did the same. The more I learn about Valis the more I like him.

When Valis was first introduced in this series, he was not even half he person that he has become. He was beaten down and had no self confidence what so ever. But over the course of these books I have watched him emerge from his shell and become a completely different person. Yes he is not all that co
In this installment Valis is still within the walls of the monastery. He is missing his fathers who in the previous book left for an assignment and has not returned. He continues training in hopes of gaining information from Roba when they face off. His birth anniversary is celebrated, there is an event with Roba. He finds out a truth about himself. He makes a new friend. This new friends brings about a new journey for Valis, his love interest Tavros and friend Seza. Tavro's younger brother, Ary ...more

Oh Vesper. You just keep reeling us in. Book 3 in the God Jars is blessedly full of answers to all (well most) of the the questions from book 2. We get to see sweet Valis face his fears and and really get a handle on his powers. I can't say much about this one without spoiling all the fun for future readers but I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves angst, magic, action, laughter, and enough sweetness to rot your teeth out. These characters really grab you by the feels and just drag ...more

Valis and Tavros continue to train. Their differences bringing them closer, “Tavros was dark and stormy, where Valis was sunshine and summer skies”.

The story doesn’t advance much action wise in this book. A lot of introspection on Valis’ part. I really wish we could see more of Tavros’ feelings. Valis has to contend with his birth father for most of the book (a really nasty person). I liked this book but it was a bit slow and ended kind of abruptly. But with the next book the beginning of a new

This series trapped me since the beginning so I couldn’t do anything else but to read book 3 to see how Valis story continued and I didn’t left the book until finished. Now, the training intensifies and danger closed around him, while struggling with his magic, his heart and his friends and trying to live up the expectations everyone created for him. Finally, everything is becoming clearer and in this book you’ll get a glimpse of the wonderful world built by the author. You need to read the prev ...more

Love this series!!!

The story continues with Valis and Tavros and their group of friends. Tacos and Valis are getting a long much better than in the last book. Aryn is overstepping a few boundaries with Valis, and Valis doesn't want to hurt him. Roba may or may not be upn to something, hard to tell yet. And now Valis and Tavros are leaving on a journey with two of their friends, one of them new to the group. Really, you must read this series, it gets better with each book. Hopefully Valis will se

I absolutely love this series. In this book Valis gets to experience what it’s like to have someone celebrate his birthday, unfortunately his birthday was never celebrated so for him it was just another day. To be honest he didn’t know when his birthday was or his true age which I found extremely sad. Valis’s responce to the way he’s was treated on his birthday was way to cute. I truly love this series regardless of all the fighting and Valis’s sperm donor being a jerk. A truly great series, enj ...more

I thought the third book has a great steady pace. The characters are still likable and pull at your emotions. Loving how the story is playing out. I hate when the book comes to an end, that’s how much the book is pulling me into the world the author made. Can’t wait to read the fourth book to see what happens next.

This series just gets better with each book! The world in which this series is set it so very well built, it is easy to drift into it within your mind. The characters are so well written you feel you know them. While this book does leave you with a cliffhanger, it is well worth the wait for the journey into the next installment of this wonderful series.

This series continues to amaze me! I loved seeing Valis growing into his own, and it was nice that he seemed less immature and more rational. This book seemed to be a lot of set up for the next installation in the series, but that did not take away from the story. I was still hooked from beginning until end and can not wait to see where it goes from here.
