Falling for your best friend's sister has never felt so bad yet so damn right.

From USA Today Bestselling author BJ Harvey comes the third and final standalone in the Chance series, this time it's the much anticipated story of Drew and Ashley.

I have a long history of acting first and thinking it through later. In fact, I'm the definition of a screw up.

Case in point - I

I liked the first story in this series One Shot, and I LOVED the second story Second Chance. I think I may have built my hopes us a little too much for this one after reading the awesome second story. Drew was kind of a skanky manwhore before giving in and doinking his best friend’s (OFF LIMITS) virginal baby sister. But he was also kind of manwhore in between hook ups with Ashley too. He was warned off from her several times by her big brother Millen, but Drew just kept going back to hit that a

I think you understand the story better if you read the previous books.
If you do not read, you will not understand many things.
Our hero has always put his friendship with the heroine's brother in the first place. It was many years of lies and indecision.
He ended up choosing the friendship.
Hero had several women and really started to fall in love with Kenzie. So much so that when she chose Millen, he ended up drunk in bed with

How many times can a heart break before it becomes completely irreparable? I knew it! I knew that Ashley and Drew’s story was going to be a tough one. I knew that this book was going to HURT SO GOOD! Make way for the BEST BOOK in the series…𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐤𝐞 by B.J. Harvey was an emotional MASTERPIECE…an ANGSTY gem that will rip your heart to shreds! I absolutely LOVED it!

Third Strike is the 3rd book in the Chances Series, from rom-com author, BJ Harvey. But she veered slightly away from the humor and decided to hit us with a dose of heavy angst with this series. And boy did she nail it.

Drew has been a part of each book and was a pretty pivotal character in One Shot, I wasn't sure if Drew was going to be capable of redemption. Well not so much redemption, but able to get himself out of the mess he made with his life and the multiple poor choices that led him

Third Strike is my favourite book of this series. I'm so glad I finally caught up, and Drew's story was the one I was waiting for since One Shot. I was not disappointed.

BJ threw me for a loop right at the start, with that damned revelation in the prologue. We then get Drew and Ashley's story which spans over a very long period of time. I really liked these two together, even though a lot of the time I wanted to tell them just to speak up to the others around them *ahem, Millen* and get

This is a story that has been simmering away in the background of the first two books and it’s finally Drew’s time to shine… well that is a slight exaggeration, more like his time to finally get his shit together is more apt?

This story begins with a prologue, one that this author loves to dangle in front of the reader to build the anticipation of what is to come. A few bombshells are dropped and then we go back to the beginning of how Drew first met Ashley and how their friendship developed over

OMG I can't believe this is the last book in the series. I could not wait to read this book because Drew captured my heart since book one. I knew there was a reason why he was the way he was but I never imagined what went down because I just figured he was an arsehole for no reason. Why he acted so weird around Ashley. I mean he and Millen are best friends and Ashley is Millen's sister so I thought he would be cool to Ashley but he acted weird around her and to find out that he loved her all tho ...more

I have been impatiently awaiting the arrive of Third Strike, and Ms Harvey has not disappointed.

If you have read the previous two books, you will remember Drew and Ashley - Millen's best friend and his sister.

Firstly, if you have read my One Shot review, you will remember that I was not a fan of Millen - and I didn't get 10% into this book before he was pissing me off again.

But I digress - Drew and Ashley.

Theirs is a story that spans a decade, and spanned the

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! This series has been one fantastic roller coaster after another.

I was smitten with Drew since the first book and he may have had issues and reasons for being the way he was but he had his reasons. I mean, seriously you're really in a pickle if you get an ultimatum, either family or love and Drew had no choice but to pick family because the Ross's have always been like a family to him and Millen like a true brother. You really don't know if you should or could cross the l

To really understand the events and get the full effect of this story, you do need to read the previous two books. Drew we first met in book one, he is Millen's best friend and he has a bit of a secret; he has been in love with Millen's baby sister since he first met her years ago. Millen warned Drew off, but even knowing that, Drew and Ash couldn't resist the pull. Now finally Drew has decided after waiting all these years he was going to make sure that Ash knew that

Oh, I know what you did here B.J! You set our expectations low for Drew in the other books only to hit us with his story like this!! I actually thought he is the most arrogant and cocky man alive that doesn't know how to appreciate true friendship & love. Deep down I always knew there's something more than meets the eye, that if Ash likes him, he can't be that bad. But I wasn't expecting to see all the beautiful and sometimes frustrating layers that Drew has.

Well chosen when B.J. decided to wri

Ok as far as fave forbidden / second chance romances go this one definitely sits at the top of the list.

Drew and Ashley’s story is just full of angst. This book definitely puts you through the ringer. I’ll be honest there were times that I wanted to jump right in and literally slap the hell out of some of these characters.

While there is an HEA it doesn’t come easily and is riddled with heartbreak. And if you love stories that have ups and downs and ones that might make you want to throw your ki

This is the third book in this phenomenal series, and is Drew and Ashley’s turn. This author does a brilliant job in penning this story, as we find out that Drew is nothing like the cocky, and arrogant bad boy he portrays in previous books. Ashley is his best friends’ sister, and their love is forbidden, yet neither of them can deny their feelings. This is a beautifully written powerful story, which is filled with angst, humor, emotion, heartbreak, twists, and love. I was completely enthralled t ...more

Drew and Ash. A love story that spans a lifetime and one I still can’t stop thinking about. BJ Harvey has written one of her most powerful books to date with Third Strike. Digging deep to relay every single bit of intensity that is this couple. Taking the notion of a forbidden love to new heights with this all-encompassing story of want and need and the very definition of meant to be.

Having been able to see Drew as the funny ‘sidekick’ so to speak to his best friend Millen in prior books, I was

Woohoo! Drew's story is finally here. I've been looking forward to Drew since the first book in the series, One Shot. We all know from One Shot that Drew messes up big time. HUGE.

Mainly from Drew's POV, Third Strike is written in both the present and past tense, with the development of Drew and Ashley's relationship spanning more than a decade. Drew's attraction to Ashley was immediate upon meeting her, but as Ashley is his best friend Millen's (whom he considers family) little sister, she immed

I was eagerly awaiting this book after reading Second Chance and BJ didn’t disappoint. Drew and Ash had a bumpy ride from when they first met but I don’t think they could have taken any other route to end up where they did...which by the way was perfect in my eyes.
I would have liked Lana to go down in a firey ball of flames, but then again I’m a total b**ch!
I highly recommend Third Strike and the entire Chances series and BJ.

I picked this up again not realizing I'd read it before - or at least part of it. I still think it would benefit the reader to read the previous two books in the series. Having said that, this is still a good story.

What made this book great but not amazing: too much time elapsed between the scenes when the primary characters were together. It spans 14-15 years of a relationship that can't be, shouldn't be, is anyway but secret, then has a big culmination that is predictable with

It's really hard to put into words the emotions I felt whilst reading this book, but completely emotional was how I found myself. Going from huge smiles to wracking sobs. This book is about circumstance, manipulation and being to afraid to stand up for what you truly believe in and want. Afraid to lose something when you stand to lose, no matter what way you turn.

This love story is one of an epic kind, one that you can't out run, one you can't truly leave behind, no matter the distance or the le

BJ Harvey waited 4 years for a five-star review from me, and now she has had two on the trot. I absolutely adored Second Chance, but she blew it out the water for me with Third Strike, my new favourite of this series. This was the greatest "best friend's sister" book I have EVER read!!!

New to me author! Ok so I listened to this book in one day at work. I was pulled in because I love the narrators voice and was told that this would be a good one.... It was not a good one. It was freaking awesome. I can not even come up with a word for how great it was to me. This was the story of a man that made some really stupid mistakes, but they came from a misguided sense of loyalty. Drew was raised by his mom and had no

Drew and Millen are best friends but its more than that for Drew. Millen's family is like the only family he has and that is very special to him. So when he has a secret on again off again romance with Millen little sister Ashley it never really goes much farther than sneaking around because when push comes you shove he always chooses Millen's friendship over any type of relationship with Ashley. Third Strike by B.J.Harvey is a romance which has a bit of everything. The taboo feeling of falling for best friend's sister. The inevitable heartbreak and angst coming from that. The deep and intense bond between Ash and Drew that goes way beyond simple physical attraction. And I enjoyed every moment of it!

The story spans over years. This kind of story is really interesting as we can follow the journey of Ash and Drew from very young age. We can see the changes in their personality and the grow

I've been waiting on Third Strike for what seems like FOREVER, ever since Second Chance (Book 2) in the Chances Series gave that sneak peak. It's the story of Drew & Ash's story. See, Ash is Drew's best friend's little sister, and while he's not supposed to want her, they are perfect for each other. Their chemistry is off the charts of course, so though it takes a long time before they act on them, once they do, they light the sheets on fire, but it's all secretive when they can hook up. I have been looking forward to this book for a long time now! Drew has been one of those characters that I've been curious but wary of considering everything that has happened.

I'm a hot mess, wrapped up in a cloud of f*ck-ups, with no light at the end of the tunnel to show me the way to future happiness.

It also hasn't been easy for Ashley, being the younger sister of Millen... Drew's best friend. Of course, being the big brother Millen is, both Drew and Ashley know they w
Third Strike is book three in the series and each can be read as a standalone, but if you read the other two books in the series and met Drew, you already have an opinion on him. You like him, but you want to smack the crap out of him each time. Oh boy, does he truly strike out three times! Brilliant he is not, but I will say he did redeem himself in this book and for that I’m grateful for. You will feel so many emotions reading this story once you get his full background and why his actions led ...more
