I received this book for free from Tour Group in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Dragon Night is a Dark Kings novella from the 1001 Dark Nights compilations. It numbers at #13.5 and features Dorian, a Dragon King so filled with hate for mortals that Con has kept him sleeping with little time awake. He has the gift of invisibility which is what the Dragon Kings need to access a relic that may help them understand what is goin

Review from 30/12-2019:

I just love this series so much!!! But now I'm super sad because I'm all caught on the books that are available on Audible Escape.

I'm so glad I finally decided to start this series and I can't wait to continue this but I haven't decided if I'm gonna wait for the rest of the series to be available on AE or if I'm gonna read the ebook versions. I've really enjoyed this series on audio so I'm leaning towards waiting. But w
You guys know that I love me some Dragon Kings and this 1,001 Dark Nights Dragon King Novella did not change that at all. I loved meeting a new King and learning his story. I could have totally done full length book for Dorian but Donna pulled off his story seamlessly even in the shortened format. As always you can jump right in any where with a 1001 Dark Nights Novella and not feel like you are completely in the dark. I will say that with the number of books that have come before this one in th ...more

Donna Grant does it again!

As you all know I have been a fan of Donna Grant for a few years now so every book she writes I will read as soon as I get my hands on them.

This novella is part of the Dark Kings series. It is book 13.5 and it can get be read as a stand alone but I suggest that you read all the previous books first if you have not already.

Just like all the previous books, I have loved it and of course it didn't take me long to read it because it was so good and I was hooked from the ve

I just love this series. I'm going to be sad when I am completely caught up.

Dorian and Alex are perfect together. Another layer to the Dragon King's new foe is revealed. Normally I'd say you don't have to read novellas, but with this series each book reveals a little more to the on-going story.

Con has reluctantly awoken Dorian from dragon sleep to obtain an artifact with his ability. Dorian hates humans and wants nothing to do with them. He has been asleep since the dragons were sent away. Being sent after an artifact owned by Alexandra Sheridan doesn't change his opinion until he spends a day with her. Alex changes his perception and allows him to overcome his grief after thousands of years.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. Since Dorian is a new dragon to the

This novella (short story) is #13.5 in the series, "Dark Kings" by author; Donna Grant. This was a charming addition to the series. In this novella (short story) we were introduced to a newly awoken Dragon King, yeah....the HOT Scottish alpha male that's able to shift into his natural form as a dragon and his story. This little novella (short story) really had the sweetest romance story that it was hard not to fall in love with the characters. It included; romance, heartbreak, suspense, anger an ...more

There was never a hunt that Dorian had lost until the hunt took him to her, Alexandra Sheridan. Nothing would ever be the same. Alex was smart and cautious of everything and everybody. Alex never trusted well, until she met Dorian. Dorian hated the humans for the the death of his sister. Could these two hurt souls find common ground? With this attraction burning between them, and enemies surrounding them. Will Dorian and Alex find a love that will transcend time?

Donna nailed it again!!! From the start up to the last, I was hooked. Dragon Night is Dorian's story, one of the Dragon kings. Anyway, the way the story started, I was hooked and as the story goes I feel in love with not just only Dorian but also Alexandra (and her assistant). I love how Donna wrote Dorian's story. It was carefully executed and attention grabbing. Loved it!! ...more

For some reason, I found myself smiling an awful lot while reading this book. It was just really good. While I am not a fan of insta-love at all, I can go with it sometimes when it works. And here it did.

I don't think we've met a King that has hated humans so intensely as Dorian does. When Con sends him to NYC it takes everything in him not to slaughter them all. But he's determined to complete this mission the way Con wants him to and be part of the group again instead of sleeping the years aw

This is book 13.5 in the Dark Kings series and you absolutely have to read the previous books in the series before this one so you can understand the main story line that is going on in this series. This one is about Dorian and Alexandra. Dorian has been asleep for a very long time due to the anger he feels toward the humans. But now he has been awakened by Con in order to retrieve a necessary artifact for the Kings. One that Con feels may help them in the long run. So he is sent to meet Alexand ...more

Dorian never wanted to deal with humans again. He didn't know how he would control himself around them, he just wanted to kill them all and avenge the ones he has lost. But when he is sent on a mission to collect an artifact from a human, he knows he cannot fail. It is just so hard for him to control his anger, but then he meets Alex. She calms him down in a way no one else can and actually manages to convince him that humans might not be so bad. Now, they must work together to figure out who is ...more

Sent to NYC to retrieve a relic that might help the Dragon Kings fight their new foe, Dorian is doing his best to keep his anger in check. For millennia, he stayed asleep in his mountain because he had not been able to overcome the need to alienate humans from the realm. Now, however, his brethren have called on him and his talent to ensure that the dragon kings will have a relic they need. Heiress Alexandra Sheridan is never short of suitors. But it's the sexy Scot with his shiver-inducing brog ...more

3.75 stars. This was a good addition to the Dark Kings series! This was Alex/Alexandra and Dorian's story. Alex is a wealthy woman who inherited millions and is orphaned and lonely with no friends or family. Her family has left her many historical artifacts as well. One item is a very important relic that the Dragon Kings need to help fight their enemy. The king of the dragon kings, Con, awakens Dorian from his thousands of years sleep to send him to New York to get the artifact from Alex. Doria ...more

I received a free copy of the book from the publisher.

It's not everyday you meet a dragon.  A real life dragon.  Though Alex didn't expect to meet one either!  That was one of the parts I chuckled at when she put two and two together. Due to being born into wealth Alex doesn't have a boss to report to.  She has lots of charities she donates to and interacts with as well as various boards she sits on.  When she meets Dorian after he buys a date with her during a charity fundraiser auction she can

Very safe to say, Dragon Night is a perfect addition to the 1001 Dark Nights collection. A page turner from the beginning, Dark Night kept me riveted as Dorian’s, character stepped right out of the world of Outlander. The author wove tiny detailed aspects of Outlander into Dorian’s persona and swooooon. From his

Can one woman heal a heart full of anger?

I loved it! This is a quick novella that lead us further down the rabbit hole into the lives of the Dragon Kings, Druids and the Fae.
Dorian has been asleep since the other dragons were sent away to a different realm. He was angry about something that happened in the dragon/human war. When he wakes up he is still full of anger and hate towards humans. But Con needs him for a mission to retrieve an artifact and he is the only one that can do it.

I love this series! Dorian, King of the Corals, is awake after centuries of being asleep to suppress his hatred of the mortals that inhabit the Earth. Con sends him on a mission to recover a lost artifact that may help with the Kings latest enemy. All he has to do is get close to a human woman that has the artifact locked up. Dorian is a sexy throwback after being thrust into the 21st century and having to play catchup on everything...except how to woo a beautiful woman even if he detests humans ...more

Great world building and characters; a lovely story

This series is on my TBR list, but I’d only read two other novellas before this one. While technically you can read this as a standalone, I think you would enjoy it more with the background of earlier books to build on. Note I read this as part of the 1001 Dark Nights Bundle 23 and a version of this review will be included there.

I did feel a little lost in the beginning with some of the setup because I wasn’t familiar with the characters or eve

So... I'm on the fence about Dragon Night. On the one hand, if you're unfamiliar with the Dragon Kings world, it's a great intro to the series (as is the norm with 1001 Dark Night novellas). But because it has so much info stuffed into it, it is a bit overwhelming if you haven't started from the beginning of the series. In addition, Dorian and Alexandra are such intriguing characters, both with backgrounds that are so tragic and interesting, so it seems a bit of a shame that this is a novella an ...more

Dorian's hatred for humanity has kept him isolated in his mountain for millennia but an artifact's protections make it necessary for him to awaken. Face to face with his anger and thirst for revenge, he'll have to learn control it or he might just lose the one being that could soothe his soul and grant his heart peace. Alex's honesty and penchant for eschewing the attention her wealth brings really endeared her to me. I felt she was genuine, forthright, strong-willed, and fierce once her heart m ...more

Dorian awakens in a brand new world

This is a short story within the Dragon Kings series. Written between - "Torched" & "Dragonfire ", this story runs parallel to the story of V trying to find his sword in book 14.

Th is story was fast paced, although I do wish that it was longer to capture some of the additional questions that are placed at the end. Filled with a character who has made decisions upon his feelings without understanding the other side has been fascinating.

The hype is real people! Reading this novella made me wanna go and read all the books in the series and anxiously wait for the future ones. The novella can be read as stand alone (since that's how I read it) but it also moves forward the main plot of the books, so if you are familiar with the series you wouldn't want to miss it. I don't think that anyone will have a problem with getting into the story especially after Dorian explains a part of the lore if not all to Alex. For a novella it gives ...more

The socialite and the dragon

I was introduced to this author as a part of the Audible Escape package. This book was purchased as both and eBook and audiobook. Dragon Night is #13.5 in the Dark King series; which is a part of the greater Dark World. Characters from previous books appear and longer subplots are formed and beginning to build.

Alexandra is a wealthy NY socialite with an art collection that is the envy of world, even the greater “Dark World”. Dorian is a Dragon King that have been sle
