Instead, innovative and emerging research shows that a compelling and other-centered authentic purpose - "The Invisible Leader"- may be the most powerful influencer of our behaviors, attitudes, and motivation in organizations, work, school, and life.

Yet despite the increasing evidence of purpose's power, many of the organizations, systems,

I received an autographed copy of this book from a Goodreads Giveaway and was looking forward to reading it. Before I could start though, my nephew who was visiting for the holidays got hold of it. He is a young adult who is starting his own business, and after looking through it he thought the book would be really helpful to him and asked to borrow it. So, 5 stars for grabbing the interest of a young entrepreneur! I'll hopefully update the review when I get it back.

Great read! Purpose driven leadership brings more drive to the leadership understanding. Zach had some great ideas in turning purpose into reality. I would strongly recommend this book, not just for the those in leadership positions, but especially those who want their lives to be lead by meaningful purpose and vision.

This was not what I was expecting, I was expecting a fairly average 'how to be a leader' book, but this is so much more!

The advice in this book applies to everyone, from children to adults to retirees there is something in here for everyone, in fact, a lot in here for everyone.

Listening to this book is becoming part of my annual review process, where i consider what I achieved versus what I wanted to achieve and set goals and direction for the year to come. Re-clarifying my personal purpose each

The Invisible Leader can be applicable to every person in any situation. It showcases the value and benefits behind discovering your purpose in work and life through relatable stories backed by numbers and research. As a recent college grad, these words were especially helpful in inspiring me to seek out positions and companies where I could serve something greater than myself. I appreciated the "Practicing Purpose Tips" throughout the book so it's easy to apply the practice of purposeful thinki ...more

Practical and resonant

As an executive coach and organizational consultant, I’ve been exposed to, and applied, a lot of thinking on organizational purpose. Zach is the first person I’ve seen who pulls together the essence of what the psychological and performance research supports: purpose is more difficult than it looks, and there are some key ideas around it that you need to get right. Authenticity, emotion, activation, everyday practice, are all described here in a practical way that the reade

Zach's disarming style, approach and unbridled passion for this subject removes the hype that exists around Purpose in today's littered landscape. I found it to be a practical read but more than that a useful workbook, not unlike a trusted partner that I could reach out to as needs to set me on my way or help me course correct. The research, the stories, the facts, the way Zach has weaved his knowledge together is nothing short of outstanding. Well worth a read - one that you can pick up at any ...more

The Invisible Leader has allowed this accountant to see the bigger purpose of her job, and how it is more than the numbers. Understanding how purpose works and why I need to reflect on this, through the reading and activities at the end of each chapter has transformed my leadership style as well as my day to day view of my job.

Highly derivative and the author takes 200 pages to let us know that having a noble purpose will do your business a good turn.
