I think Torched has been one of the most anticipated stories of this series. Ulrick has been banished from Draegan for centuries and has been building up his revenge and challenge to Con all this time. There may be spoilers for the previous books in this review so if you haven't started the Dark Kings yet, you may want to stay away from this review.

I know Ulrick is supposed to be an evil character and he started out on my bad side with a lot of the things he had done. But when it came to light t

The 13th book of the series...

It is the most powerful redemption book that I have ever read that Ms. Grant have written. After Phelan and Aisley's story, I thought that was the best redemption..since Aisley was a focal point, then it was Dale. But I was wrong.

The King of Silvers, Ulrik, topped all of them.

It was a heartbreaking journey. From book one, up to this book. The tears I have shed, each time his past was shown with the previous books, I wanted to get the the whole story...however, read

I have anxiously waited from the beginning for Ulrick's story. I could not even begin to imagine how it would all turn out or what the author had in mind for his story. This book exceeded my expectations. Fabulous way to resolve this untenable situation. Happy, as well, to see Erith ("Death" from the spin off series "Reapers") finally reveal herself to Con. But, oh, the new scenarios that were set up at the end of this book! Keep them coming! It is a great series.

This is one of the books in this series I was dying to read. It did not disappoint.

Ulrik is the King of the silver dragons. He has been banished from this home by Con, the King of the Dragon Kings for going off and attacking humans after he was betrayed by one.

"Fate will chew you up and spit you out many times, taking you away from those you love and dumping you into places you never wanted to be. It is up to each of us where we choose to belong. We can either fight everything, or accept what w

Okay so I don't want to give anything away since if you are like me and have followed the series you have been sitting on pins and needles waiting for this book.

Ulrik
The ultimate bad guy. The one who would not stop until he destroys the King of Kings and then unleashes his fury on the mortals, eliminating them from this world.

Eilish
Druid who has a mysterious past. A pawn for another evil man.

What happens when their paths cross and neither of them is ready for the sparks that fly.

I have looked forward to Ulrik's story and this did not disappoint! OMG, I loved every second of it.  It is 386 pages long and I read it in one day; it was perfect and handled the backstory well and it was believable as Ulrik slowly came back into the fold with Con and Dreagan. Eilish was a strong, well developed character who was a perfect match for Ulrik. Their chemistry was explosive and they worked well together. I liked that she didn't push him or try to change him, which I believe is why s ...more

Wow..

I have been waiting for this book since the first book of this series and it was so worth the wait. This probably was one of the best books of this series. There are still a lot of questions that still need to be answered but we are finally starting to see the story coming together, along with how it ties into the Reaper series.

Basically, I loved every about this book and can't wait to see what will happen next.

Review coming soon but sufficed to say this was the best Dark Kings book in a long time. Are my questions answered, not totally but I feel confident in where we’re headed and in the storyline to come. I just want more now, haha

Fans waited a long time for Ulrik's book. It was worth the wait. Ms. Grant did a fantastic job on his story and I loved the conclusion. It was the perfect ending.

I am a HUGE fan of Donna Grant’s books and in particular the Dark Kings series and this is the one that I had been waiting for – Ulrik’s story!!

I have to say that I thought that the plot line was superb, it was completely addictive and I loved the story right from the outset. It was a complete page turner and I thought it had a brilliant ending. The book is fantasy but it is so realistic too with excellent characterisation and people you can really feel fo

Wow! I just finished Ulrik’s story and I’m so, so happy. Through all the 12 books I’ve always rooted for Ulrik. I never wanted him to be totally bad, never wanted him to do anything unforgivable. However, I was surprised to see who his love-interest is. She was one I thought was totally going to be bad. But, surprise!

And, jeez, I was surprised to hear what Ulrik’s special kind of magic was. I wondered how he’d saved Lily several books back but now I know. It’s awesome. I’m so glad Ulrik got his

The most anticipated installment since the series’ inception does not disappoint!

He needed no one.
For to trust was to be betrayed.

There’s no doubt that Torched by Donna Grant has been the most anticipated installment since the series’ inception! I’m a huge fan of Grant’s and her Dark Kings’ series. Ulrik’s story is hands-down one of the most powerful redemption books I’ve ever read and unquestionably my favorite of the entire series. If you are a newbie to Grant’s Dark Kings, they are men of

This series just keeps getting better and better.

Donna's authors note in the beginning about how she didn't know if Ulrik could be redeemed is the perfect way to start this book. Over the past few books, we've seen that good and evil aren't always black and white or Dark and Light. Ulrik has had centuries to finesse his plot to challenge Con, destroy the kings and unleash the dragons on earth removing us mortals from it. However, underneath it all, is that what he actually wants?

I loved Eilish

Often in life you finally get something you’ve anticipated for a long time and it is a great disappointment..... not this book!
I’ve been looking forward to Ukrik’s book forever it seems and boy was it worth the wait. It has everything, it’s exciting, it’s so touching and tender in places , it’s got a brilliant mate for Ulrik who I’ve always loved, and as for the supporting cast? Well it’s got everything! Warriors! It’s got loads of Constantine who is my King... back off ladies. But, maybe best

One word, outstanding!

As usual, another awesome read! I couldn't put the book down and devoured it in a day! Love, redemption, forgiveness, and one wale of a cliffhanger! Grab a box of tissues and get lost in the realm of dragons! This book had me crying one minute , then shouting for joy the next! Miss Donna hit a home run with this installment.

Yay, Ulrik's book! I've been waiting for this book for almost as long as Rhi's book (hint, hint, Ms. Grant)!! Loved it, especially as there's a ton of plot development in the overall arc. Can't wait for the next one!

OMG! I've cried off and on through this whole book. Part from sadness part from happiness. I read a LOT of books by different authors but I haven't found another that holds your attention like Donna Grant. She has you mind, body and soul from the beginning. Her Dark King series is so fascinating and spellbinding you don't even know you're caught. You must read her books and for goodness sake keep them because you are going to want to read them over and over. There should be more than 5sta

When I first found out that this was Ulrik's book I was pretty excited to see exactly how things would go down that he would find himself back with the other Kings. Because, come on, we all knew it was going to happen sooner rather than later. I was not disappointed. Despite the centuries he has spent hating Con, it still felt completely believable when the two of them finally came back together. And I was so happy for it.

We met Eilish some time back, so we already knew that she aligned herself

An awesome, emotional and captivating story…

This is the thirteenth book in the Dark Kings series.

One of the most enigmatic characters of this series has been Ulrik, Dragon King of Silvers. We’ve heard his story from one side, that of the Dragon Kings, yet there have been instances where Ulrik’s actions haven’t always matched who you expected him to be, even when the reader learned the existence of Mikkel, the uncle who uncannily resembles him. There is more to the man and dragon than we have bee

The dark kings series is not what I'd call an extremely well written series. It's interesting and engrossing as a whole, but individually, the books will not give readers any satisfaction.

The plot lines and romance of the protagonists in each book are rather insipid and tedious. It's the overarching story of the dragon kings that will catch your interest. Even here, the relationships of the dragon kings to each other is not explored properly and seems to be treated very flippantly and glibly. Th

Torched by Donna Grant is the newest in the Dark Kings series. Torched centers on the Dragon King of the Silvers, Ulrik, who was stripped of his powers and banished from the rest of his Dragon King brethren long ago. Reading Torched as a stand-alone is possible, but with the background interactions involving Ulrik throughout the series, I would not recommend it. Ulrik has been evolving throughout the past several books, leading him to a place in Torched w

Redemption for most...

Ulrik, the King of the Silvers, has a strong hate-on for anything mortal so imagine his disgust when he falls hard for the Druid, Eilish as promising himself to never fall for a woman again after the betrayal he suffered at the hands of Nala. Nala betrayal led to his banishment from Dreagan and being stripped of his powers and forced to endure life as an immortal mortal. Unfortunately, Eilish is in league with his wayward uncle Mikkel which means she's off limits.

"Torched" by Donna Grant. Book 13 in the Dark Kings series.

This book is about Ulrik and Eilish. Fans of the series have been patiently (or impatiently) waiting for this book.

Ulrik has been a character that, throughout the series, readers have been trying to guess 'Is he the bad guy? Or is he a good guy? Or is he somewhere in between? He was banished by Constantine, King of all Dragon Kings, when Ulrik started a war with humans. Ulrik was betrayed by the woman he loved and now, thousands of years
