I really wanted to like this book. It was well written, and started off with a promising story of a sociopathic teen. However, too many elements of repellent behavior took this story into too many directions for me. Don't get me wrong - I like a good dose of repellent behavior in my reading. This one jumped the shark. By midway, I lost interest in the psychoteen's new levels of malice. I found it difficult to suspend disbelief. I am glad that I read the book all the way through, however, because ...more

This book is all sorts of fucked up. Kristopher Triana is no stranger to the depraved and sadistic as any reader of his previous books will confirm. Full Brutal sees cheerleader Kim blossom into a necrophilia-craving, murdering monster. Things start off with her befriending then systematically destroying her fellow schoolies in the most despicable ways possible. Facebook shaming isn't enough and soon things take on an even darker more sinister tone. Kim's acts of cruelty are infinite as she ...more

Sweet Sixteen? Not for Kim White.

Kim is not your average teen-aged girl. Her life can been summed up in two words: Numb indifference.

"The world seemed just as stale and empty as always, and the misery of the sunshine as it poured through the blinds of [her] bedroom window made [her] groan with discontent."

Tired of her bleak, miserable existence, Kim decides she needs something new and exciting to add meaning to her life. She thinks it's time for her to lose her

I really enjoyed this book, so much so, that I wanted to leave a brief review. Two lines stood out for me, at the beginning: "I was just so tired of being alive," and at the end: "The world is an amazing place if you can tolerate it." I think that kind of summed up the main character's transformation from start to finish. I liked the way she progressed throughout the book by embracing her inner psychopath. With each of her increasingly crazy acts, she gained confidence in her deviant behavior ...more

3.7. The first half was super entertaining. Reach for the popcorn and watch her destroy people slowly. Then the cannibalism got kind of... annoying? Idk. I put it down for awhile. The end was decent.

Full Brutal is the first book I've read by Kristopher Triana. I've seen his name before so I was interested in checking out some of his work. As a member of The Splatter Club I saw a great oppurtunity when they announced a group read for Full Brutal. The only thing is the read was supposed to last a whole month, and I was so sucked into this book I read it in about a week.
As the description says the book is about Kim White, star cheerleader and all around popular teen. She can have anything she
This is a very worthy nomination for Best Novel in the 2019 Splatterpunk Awards, right now my favourite to take out the prize but I still have one more novel to read. I had to put this down a few times as the level of brutality got pretty intense, Full Brutal indeed. This is what you would get if you crossed Heathers with American Psycho and turned the gore up to 11.

My first Kristopher Triana novel will NOT be my last. This is extreme horror done right.

Kim is a beautiful and popular 16-year-old cheerleader with suicidal thoughts and a general pessimism for life in general. She wants something new to change her perspective, to make her feel alive, and she decides that based on what her friends have been telling her, sex is the answer. But sex alone isn't enough for Kim, who likes to set herself apart. Instead, she sets her sights on her sex-ed teacher and

This book messed me up, in the right ways. Triana truly knows how to write a sociopath, with Kim's abject cruelty hitting like a sledgehammer to the guts. Kim does some truly sick and horrifying things, but the interesting thing is that she really does sound like a teenage girl, dealing with typical teenager things like boredom, confusion, longing, and angst. There is a reason that this book won the splatterpunk award. Triana writes like a fiend. Oddly enough, reading Full Brutal made me want to ...more

Full Brutal Beauty

This book was a blast. I was in it from the first page all the way through. It is full on violent and full of grisly details. Kim White is a savage, ruthless piece of work and she kept me reading. Kristopher Triana can write a lean mean book full of gristle and grit, sex and violence. If you like your books ultraviolet and full of mean girls then have at it you won’t be disappointed.

I listened to the audio book on my way to and from work. I was almost late a few times because I didn't want to stop listening! The story is of a young woman who takes what she wants, when she wants it. As her manipulation of people continues, her behavior escalates bringing out her deepest, darkest demons to the forefront. Triana takes us into the mind of a sadistic psychopath that has no limits or regard for herself or others. Just when you think it can't get any worse, it does! What a ...more

This is 143rd book I've read this year and is in contention to be my favorite. After reading a handful of 3-star okay books this weekend old my love for extreme horror.

The story centers around and phenomenally crafted psychopath that is simultaneously appalling and enthralling.

Triana is poised to take the reins as the new generation figurehead in extreme horror.

I had the pleasure of meeting this author at KillerCon 2019 and watched him accept the award. I had no idea he was capable of something like this! I'm a busy guy, but I read this book in two sittings! Couldn't stop. Recommended it to everyone I knew, horror fan or not. Read this book before Hollywood waters it down and turns it into in a film.

Okay so when you first start to read this book, it almost seems like you are reading a young adult novel with a girl with a little bit of a sadistic mind set. As the story continues, I become jealous that she actually gets with her teacher, I think we all had some teacher in high school we had a crush on am I right? Then, it really gets crazy. She becomes pregnant, and I don't know if it was because of the baby or if its always been inside of her but she becomes a cannibal/murderer and gets her ...more

A friend of mine read this book and asked me to leave a review...

FULL BRUTAL is extreme, uncomfortable, sick, exhilarating, unrelenting and brilliant.
The main character, Kim, is fully and completely brutal.

FB pushes the edges of the reader's comfort zone to the point of breaking. What's difficult about this book is not the extreme horror, it's coming to terms with your desire to keep reading despite the nonstop brutality.

This is the analogy that came to me about halfway through (if this sounds

Kim is a teenager psychopath who finds sexual arousal in humiliating and degrading others. The story revolves around this, the girl tries to destroy those around her for the sole reason of enjoyment and sexual gratification. She only likes herself (and maybe her father to some extent). The other people are just victims to abuse, it doesn't matters if they are friends or foes, innocents or sinners.
The first part of the book is mostly psychological horror. Kim tries to stay in the background,

Full Brutal is the sort of novel that I would probably have loved when I was fifteen. Sadly, for me and this review, that was 40 years ago. I have read a lot of horror in those 40 years, from top notch stuff through mediocre and all the way to garbage. Despite its explicit content, Full Brutal felt to me like it was written for the younger market. The crux of the tale is that the main character, teenage cheerleader Kim, is bored and decides to lose her virginity which leads to a ridiculous chain ...more

I'm giving this book only 4 stars simply because I want to reserve 5 star ratings for books that are truly life-altering. If I started going around claiming this slaughter fest of a novel changed my life, people would start to worry about me. What this book did do was keep me turning the pages from beginning to end. I'd definitely describe Full Brutal as a roller coaster ride into the depths of depravity, complete with moments of wanting to vomit while still having the time of my life. Sure, ...more

One of the best extreme horror novels I've read in the last few years. Reading about the making of a psychopath and her depravity was like watching a train wreck and not being able to look away. I could not put this book down and I could not wait to see what our main character Kim, would do next. Sick entertainment is the best entertainment and this book was definitely sick. I loved every second of reading Full Brutal..5/5 ...more

Move over Micheal Myers, Kim White is pure evil. This spawn by the terrifyingly terrific author Kristopher Triana brings gruesome horror to the next level in this unrelenting novel.

If this novel doesn't showcase the skillcase that Mr. Triana has than I'm not sure what will. The novel is told for the vile Kim White's point of view, which is rather interesting. Not only is that unique but you grow to hate Kim, you grow to be absolutely disgusted and want her to be caught and see her downfall, yet

I didn't care much for the first half which deals with a Sociopathic High School Senior. But damn... it got some serious bite when she goes Full Brutal for the 2nd half.

Mean Girls meets Baby Blood. Heavy doses of mean-spirited sleaze here. Triana writes better than a lot of folks in this genre, so if extreme horror is your bag, pay attention.
Full Brutal indeed! Kim White makes Carrie seem like someone you could leave your kids with. This is the second book by Triana that has been nominated as the splatterpunk book of the month. Triana brings the nasty and depraved in ways unrivalled! You've been warned!

A vicious unrelenting ride into Hell

Kim White is without a doubt one of the most ruthless and diabolical lunatics to ever grace the written page. Multiple repellent passages await the brave hearted or sick minded. ( ME! )

Take the most visceral parts of American Psycho and add a dash of Mean Girls and you have Full Brutal in a nutshell. This was truly a special book and quite the spectacle once Kim commits to her over the top human butchery, no one is safe from her bloodlust!

Highly recommended

Full Brutal tells the story of Kim White, all-American cheerleader and all-around It girl. She is pretty, she is popular, she is wealthy with a barely-present father – she is truly living the high school dream. At least that is what everyone thinks. In reality, Kim has had enough – she is sick to death of it all. After a conversation with her friend, Amy, she reluctantly decides to lose her virginity. Amy tells her it is a life-changing event, that she will gain a whole new perspective on life… ...more
