People who like horror novels typically like the plummet into the darkness that comes along with that kind of reading. I love horror for where it can take me. It is important to note that sometimes gives you those deeply conflicted thoughts some people actually relish. Enter, "Eyes Without a Face".

Author Betsy Ashton gives us a wonderful book that is not only smartly written, but well-paced. You get to see the story unfold through the eyes of the serial killer. She, yes a female serial killer, i

This was an awesome read! Firstly because it is really well written/edited! Yeah I am a stickler for bad editing and I only found one or two issues in the entire book, which is beyond rare in books today.
Secondly, Ashton did her research! Our heroine (? lol) is believable! She is methodical, smart, superior, loving (to the right creature/people), she is just a whole ball of interesting! I love that in the beginning she makes a mistake here and there but learns from them so that next time her pla

Ms. Ashton is a local author I saw featured on PBS. I like to support local authors, so I thought I would give the featured book a try.

The author did a great job on character development and pace. Considering that the story spans over 20 years, she moved the story along very quickly. The story is very good. Eyes Without A Face is a unique story, and once I started I couldn't put it down. This is a novel about a female serial killer, told through the eyes of the killer. It was entertaining, disturbing and enlightening all at the same time. I couldn't decide whether I liked or loathed the main character, although the book was so well written that at one point I actually felt compassion for a serial killer. I highly recommend this book, but beware, once you read it you'll never look at women in quite ...more

A Horrifying and Absorbing Tale

The most horrifying thing about Eyes Without a Face is the cool, dispassionate narration. It makes the killer totally believable and totally human. One can't help but think the narrator is really out there somewhere, and maybe even hope so.
