We all have that someone we can’t forget, the summer it all began, and the sleepless nights wondering what went wrong.

For Gage Montgomery, that someone is Layla Baxter. When he was 18, he took one look at the chocolate-haired bookworm with porcelain skin and knew his life would never be the same. But it all came crashi

3.5 stars!!

Quiet Angel was a cute, compelling romance that was right up my alley. It was a really sweet read of two individuals traveling at a crossroads and who meet up after a mere decade time-lapse to settle unfinished business. Or should I say feelings? Answers? And or love?

Gage and Layla were one of my more favorite bittersweet couples as I got to see their romance bloom

This book sort of snuck up on me. I had a little bit of a hard time connecting to the story at first; I wasn’t sure what to make of Layla – she was very hot and cold. She came off as completely innocent, almost prudish and frankly, kind of a tease. But somewhere around the halfway point, I found myself smiling cheesily at my Kindle while cheering for Gage and Layla.

Quiet Angel is heartwarming second chance romance. Layla disappeared on Gage without an explanation after a whirlwind teenage love a

4 "Angels Soar Above it All" Stars! Lovers of sweet, second chance romances will not want to miss Quiet Angel. Interestingly, while the romance is pure and beautiful, it is worth noting that this book, while not overly descriptive, does touch upon some pretty sordid, domestic abuse issues. Consequently, if this is a trigger for you, please be forewarned. The ultimate message though is one of inspiration and hope, tinged with a drop of mysticism surrounding the protective powers of angels, and th ...more

Before I being my review, I finished reading this book on February 27, 2015 and on February 28, 2015, I read a post from Prescott that someone has pirated this book on IBooks. To the idiot who did this, shame on you! Ms. Lane has worked hard to bring us a beautiful story and then some moron who obviously cannot write their own story had to steal hers. Lately, this has been becoming a theme with regards to pirating and that is not cool. Ok

What to say about ‘Quiet Angel’? Well, I’ll start by saying that I adored ‘Perfectly Broken’ by Prescott Lane, and so had high hopes for this one of hers as well. I felt so connected with her writing style that I just had to read more. But ‘Quiet Angel’ was so much more than I imagined, and just so beautifully created that I find myself at loss to describe just how much it touched me as a reader.

The characters were so relatable, and because of this, their shared heartbreak over their separation
This was a contemporary romance. Second chance romance where the main characters met when they were 16 and 18 years old and then ran into each other 12 years later.

I was given a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review. After reading the blurb, I was intrigued because as I've mentioned previously I love second chance stories.

Layla had a rough life but was able to overcome many obstacles and accomplish her dreams. Gage is sexy, successful, caring and determi

What an inspiring story of, survival, hope and love!!!! This book knocked me off my feet. I absolutely loved the message the author was trying to give while reading this book.

Quiet Angel is the second book I have read by Prescott Lane and she is becoming a go to author for me. I truly enjoyed the first book I read by her called Perfectly Broken, but this book was even better!!
Lustful Literature

This is the first time I have read a book by this author and it won’t be the last. This book far surpassed my expectations. I appreciate when a new to me author grabs my attention with her story. It had me falling for the innocence of a first time love and how despite the years and space that love remained the same. When I started to read the first chapter I fell in love with Layla and Gage, their awkwardness, innocence and connection, but I knew that there was somethi

It was supposed to be a regular summer just before college for Gage but one girl changed everything for him. Gage and Layla fell for each other. The next thing Gage knows is that Layla is gone. Prescott Lane has a gift for reaching my emotions. I'm a big fan of damaged, broken characters. I enjoy dusting off my 'inner cheerleader' and restocking my tissues. I find that even though they make me feel sad, at the same time they give me hope. At least in the romance books that I read they usually achieve some form of healing and find love to give them the strength to live with the things they can't change. So, in a way it's like therapy for me, but much cheaper. I l

Once again Lane has created a creative, enjoyable read that I fell in love with. The emotionally infused story had my heart on the line throughout. This well-structured novel was intricately plotted, taking readers on an adventure of love, loss, and return.

Lane takes second chance romance and gives it a twist. Life isn’t easy for these characters, but it’s a life that they’ve made their own. Their intertwining pasts and present create a heady mix for readers. At the same time, Lane developed th

Gage Montgomery has a comfortable life, his family is financially well off, his parents love and support him and his future is essentially mapped out yet there is nothing pretentious about him. He has a strong work ethic, is responsible, respectful, well-mannered and all of that is already packaged in the teenage version. The charming and hardworking adult version carries all of those qualities f

Each time I read a Prescott Lane book I fall further in love with her writing. This one blew me away for many reasons. First the boy fell and was left with no explanation to pick up the pieces. Second even after all that when the boy sees girl again and messes up he takes the blame and tries to be there for her. Third boy wants girl and never wants her to leave his side. He has the insecurities and fears of her running. Fourth I actually had times when it was the girl I wanted to smack upside th ...more

What a perfectly beautiful read about young, first loves and second chances. From the first page I was immediately in love with Prescotts' writing. Immediately I noticed that Prescott writes in the “show it to me, don’t tell me” descriptive style and I found I had quite a few highlights before chapter 1 was even complete. The sentiment and language spoke to my heart I easily felt the blush and giddiness of first love.

After reading Perfectly Broken and loving it, I jumped at the chance to read this book.  After reading it I did like it , but at times I liked the idea of the story more than the actual story.

Although this story touched on a heavy subject matter it still managed to be very sweet and hopeful. The story was separated into two parts. Part one was very much to set the scene. We meet the caring, attentive, sun kissed and gorgeous 18 year old Gage Montgomery. He has his life planned out by his father and is spending the summer with his parents in their beach house before heading off to the Naval Academy in the Fall. One look at the beautiful brunette Layla Baxter, the 16 year old

I undeniably LOVED this book! Every once in a while, a book really captures your heart and pulls at your soul. Every once in a while an author – Prescott Lane – comes along and poetically masters a book. With words that harbor so much meaning you can’t stop reading and feels that you can’t help but to feel. You can’t put it down even for a second because, for the love of all that is, what the hell happens next!

Gage Montgomery found his love of a lifetime in one summer of his life when he was eighteen years old. He was young, hormone-filled teen, and yet he knew deep in his heart and this was the girl he was waiting for. Everything was perfect, until she left and broke his heart.

For Layla Baxter, being on St. Simons Island for the summer when she was sixteen was the best and safest summer of her life. She never thought she’d met a boy who can make her feel cherished and love. She thoug

I honestly have no clue how Prescott Lane does it but she makes me love her contemporaries. As a rule when I start to read one I start off automatically hating them and the author either earns my love or I abandon the book half way.

My requirements are: 1. Have a female main character that can stand on her own, 2. Have a male main character that is not perfect, 3. not automatically make me come to the conclusion that there is going to be a definite HEA, 4. have a meaty story, 5. a spunky best fri

This is a two part romance. The first focuses on Layla and Gage as teenagers and their young love. A seemingly shy girl with her books, Layla, shows up to the same vacation town where Gage resides each summer. Suddenly Gage’s break before college doesn’t look as bad. In natural progression, they fall into an intense friendship and romance until Layla abruptly disappears one night never to be hear ...more
