I have read #4 of the long valley series before, since that was free on amazon and recommended to me and I really liked that one so I had pretty high hopes for this one.
Overdue for love is #3.5 and sadly doesn't live up to my expectations since this one felt stilted at times and very rushed at the end and I even skimmed a couple of times, which I almost never do.

Working on someone else ranch when you have fallen for the boss’s daughter isn’t good. When the boss is racist and you are part Navajo it is even worse when the boss thinks you aren’t good enough for her. Thinking Chloe was playing him for a fool he left with his heart broken. She is one he will never forget and holds much bitterness. Chloe herself has issues the only man she has loved left with a painful good bye. The one night of passion left more than unkind words behind. Now face to face aga

The 'revenge' sex at the start was unpleasant to say the least and I ended up 'dnf'ing at 18% when this turned into a trope that is all too common now and simply made no sense in the context of the background.

The story of Chloe and Dawson is a sweet story. Their story starts out with Dawson working very hard on Chloe's father's ranch, he plans to purchase the ranch from her father who has agreed with the idea. However as time passes her father rethinks this and tells Dawson that he will not be selling the ranch to him as it needs to stay in the family and will go to Chloe's husband. Telling Dawson that Chloe is engaged to a local rancher. This throws Dawson for a tailspin and he does something he sho

PREDICTABLE BUT I ENJOYED IT VERY MUCH. ;D

nice story. I love stories dealing with issues like prejudice, native, unknown child.
I found this story nice, but I found the characters lacking depth, I would have loved to know more about the heroes, , their background, their struggle, how they overcame what fate brought them in the face.
I disliked Chloe at the beginning, j trying to shamelessly excite Dawson, but I did loved her more after, but found that she just welcomed him back too quickly.

A Second Chance at Love and Secret Baby Romance
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I adore Erin Wright's books, with good reason. She is an exceptional writer. Her books are filled with romance and passion, steamy love scenes, wonderful characters and great storylines.

I really enjoyed reading about Chloe and how much she has grown since the beginning of the book. When she was young and barely legal she was throwing herself at Dawson without thinking of the consequences it could mean with her father. She was written as desperate and selfish and this bugged me.
However when we meet up with her again, she is a hard worker, loyal friend and wonderful mother. Being forced to grow up looks good on her. I really liked this Chloe. She was determined, resourceful and ...more

I really enjoyed reading this contemporary western romance novella. Many people purchase a book by storyline for that reason I don’t do storyline spoilers. I feel it is unfair to the author to describe the book when writing is their livelihood. This novel is a winner! It had all the elements I look for in a well written romance novella: a well thought out and executed storyline, writing that flowed smoothly from beginning to end, characters that were well developed and engaging (adored Tommy!) A great romance read by Erin Wright about Dawson and Chloe. Dawson was a ranch manager at Chloe's dad's ranch and she had been lusting and doing everything she can for Dawson to notice her for 2 years. The story starts with their first encounter but it wasn't very romantic, in fact Dawson took out his revenge on Chloe and then left the next day, feeling betrayed by her dad and her.

When Dawson finds out that Hank Dawson pulls the rug out from under Dawson feet, that he's backing out of the deal. Started really good, then it remembered it was a novella
I liked the pacing up until 40-50%. Then it just went too quick. But for the first part, Chloe & Dawson felt real (even if I didn't like Chloe when she was 20). You really felt their emotions & they seemed genuine. Then Dawson made some stupid out of nowhere comment & they were sucking face. Oh and days later he intentionally fed her wine coolers so she could "relax" enough to sleep with him. I think if he just tried to date her & not make ...more

Love this story
Another gem in this series. Interesting concept. Spoiled rich girl Chloe. Daughter of a rich racist farmland owner and Dawson. Part navajo indian, and not at all what Chloes father had in mind for his only daughter. Being told he will never get the farm he’d been promised, because he’s not “good “ enough. “White “ enough.. he stalks out of the house angrily only to run into Chloe whom he had been resisting. Then, in one moment of reckless and anger passion with Chloe, Dawson disa ...more

This is the story of Chloe Bartel and Dawson Blackhorse. Chloe lives a life of luxury with her father on his horse ranch, and Dawson works on the ranch.
Dawson, due to a very harsh betrayal by Chloe’s father and the belief that both Chloe and her father are playing games with him, Dawson takes his bitterness out on Chloe, an action that ruins Chloe’s life.

Wright has written another wonderfully steamy western romance novella. This one is complete with love gone wrong and a second chance to make it all alright.
The characters in this short book are remarkably well developed and the story unfolds at a great pace. None of these things are easily accomplished by just any author in a book of this length.
I highly recommend devouring this one in an afternoon to fans of the steamy western romance genre.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.

This was a well written book with great characters and a strong plot. A second chance love story with lots of twists and turns. Chloe is the pampered daughter of a racist jerk who does not want her to get involved with Dawson who is one of his ranch hands and part Indian. He leaves town after thinking Chloe and her Dad are using him and doesn't return for nine years. He had no clue that their night of passion produced a son. Not wanting to be a spoiler, I will say no more. But you will love this

4.5 🌟. Never Assume!
Communication is golden. Be quick to listen and slow to speak. There is no room for bigotry either. At the end of the day, we all bleed the same color. Ms. Wright developed a beautiful story that shows how a happy ever after can happen when not falling into others discriminations and learning to communicate. Overall quality of writing was really good. No cheating or cliffhanger. There were some steamy intimacy scenes and yes.... you get a happy ever after. Enjoy

Decent read but
But I wished for more. Like Chloe give Dawson a little more hell. The man took your v-card and left you with child. She has no one to turn to since her father kicks her out and she essentially struggled to get where she is now with their son. The angst was good but it needed more rather syrupy sweet where after maybe a week max they’re in each other’s arms and bed. I mean I like this story more than Bundle of Love but it’s just missing more and it’s a little too short.

Another awesome book by Erin Wright.
Dawson was screwed over by Chloe's dad after he told him he was not going to sell him the property after Dawson worked hard for several years to get it back up and running. Nice take on the old "two different worlds" overcoming racism trope. Rich white rancher's daughter flirts with the Native American ranch hand. Father of rich girl betrays said ranch hand who leaves after unknowingly impregnating said girl. Coming to a small town on the rodeo circuit years later, he sees the girl, now no longer spoiled rich girl but a tired-looking waitress. Her son runs into the diner.... and well, readers can figure out what happens then.

Dawson and Chloe
A sweet love 💘 story that starts off with so much misunderstanding. At times sad and thoughtful but with so much promise of a bright and wonderful future. Dawson and Chloe have spent nine years apart and have so much to overcome but decide to start fresh with hope. A lovely story of family and how love 💘 can endure.

This was surprisingly really good! I only read it because it was free, but it had a lot of conflict in the beginning and turned out being an interesting story with a happy ending. Very detailed scenes, felt like I was Chloe! Honestly to sum it up, it was a book about miscommunication between to lovers.

Dawson & Chloe shared one time together and disappeared from each other's lives. Nine years later, while on the rodeo circuit Dawson runs smack dab into Chloe....and their son. Determined to be part of his son's life, Dawson decides to stay put.

This is a yummy second chance romance that begins with two betrayals of the worst kind. Then nine years later, Dawson and Chloe have a chance meeting at a diner and Dawson comes face-to-face with the result of his betrayal against Chloe. You will have to read to see if Dawson and Chloe can forgive past hurts and forge a new love that will lead to the forever family they both need.

I really enjoyed this book. Dawson Blackhorse is working on the Bartell horse ranch as the foreman. Mr. Bartell told him that he would let him buy the ranch and has been keeping some of his wages out for the ranch. His daughter, Chloe flirts with Dawson all the time. Dawson notices her, but doesn’t do anything about it. One day Mr. Bartell calls Dawson in after dinner to talk to him. He tells Dawson that he can’t sell him the ranch. The ranch has been in his family since the 1800’s and he isn’t

A delightful second chances love story, Overdue for Love touches all the right spots. Born out of betrayal the book speaks of the fires of attraction that burned between Chloe and Dawson although never acted upon, until the fateful night when Chloe's father drops his bombshell - that the ranch Dawson had been working so hard towards, has been whipped out from under his feet. When Chloe's father tells him that she is shortly due to marry a wealthy neighbour, anger burns in Dawson's chest. Anyone
